How does everything think Melanie is going to leave, and what reason will she give for leaving?

I think she will return to Europe to be with Carly. I think she will either say her mom needs her or that Brady needs time with his baby.

I think she will decide that Brady and Theresa needs to spend time alone bonding with their baby and she will bow out gracefully. She'll probably go back to Europe to be with Carly.

Do we know when she leaves? I wish she were already gone! I was excited for her return, but that ended the moment she came back with that stupid bag of cash and then tried to act like what she hadn't done was wrong.
I think she's going to feel left out and unable to handle watching Brady have a child with someone else. She's so insecure and immature. I don't think she'll be able to handle it. I see her going back to Europe. I'm just curious if she will do like before and make Maggie tell everyone goodbye for her.
We had Daniel and Maggie repeatedly warning Brady about breaking Mel's heart. That felt like foreshadowing to me.

unavitasegreta, I think this is her last month on air. I think she will get to play a martyr. She will leave because she feels that her presence distracts Brady from his son and he needs to give his son all of his attention. She will be made out to be self-sacrificing and doing the right thing for the love of Brady and his child. Then they can erect that statue in her honor. Sainthood may be in her future too.

Yeah, she will be gone by the end of May. I am just hoping that doesn't mean May 31!
@kpatch ... uhm, is sainthood enough? She is a Jonas, after all. But with God as her father, I suppose sainthood is the next best option.
If/when she comes back next, I hope there will be a better storyline and she will be written as an adult. I was excited for Melanie's return, but she's been a petulant child for the majority of her 6 months. I was watching clips from 2010-2011 the other day and it was surprising to me that 5 years ago she was far more mature and tolerable than now. Maybe dating a guy who could be her father is just magnifying her immaturity.

I can't help but wonder if maybe Theresa might have a hand in Melanie's departure. She might try to use the baby to put a wedge between Brady and Melanie. I don't believe Brady might be too happy about Theresa possibly driving his girlfriend away.

I hope Melanie takes Daniel with her. I thought she was going to be martyred as well. I can't stand Daniel's character, no offense to the actor who plays him. I read his contract is up next February? I'd rather have Dr. Wesley and Nancy back with a teenaged Joy, now there's a family I could watch almost every day! I can't even imagine what the show would do if Shawn Christian left. They'd probably have to shut down production and mourn! I am very curious though about Bo and Steve returning and how that will impact Daniel's status as the all-around hero who can do anything, solve anything, rescue anyone, and solve all the world's problems. (Since this is a departures thread, I figured the arrivals might count as spoilers?) I actually don't mind Daniel, except when Melanie is in town the two of them at the same time is just too much. I'm so grateful that Melanie is gone soon. I know it's only 2-3 weeks away, but it just seems like forever! |

I just read on Twitter that Shawn Christian is OUT on Days & Matthew Ashford is IN! I'm sad to see Daniel leave. With him & Melanie gone, I'm for sure not watching Days anymore. It can get canceled for all I care. I really have had no interest in 4 years........

I wouldn't mind him coming back as a ghost or in flashbacks. I think it would ruin his character for him to come back as currently alive. It would mean that he let JJ suffer needlessly over his "death." |
