Chapter 15

APARTMENT
There was a knock at the door. Topher opened it. Johnny walked in.
JOHNNY: Oh, it's you, is it?
TOPHER: Yes, Johnny. It's me.
JOHNNY: It's Giovanni to you. I refuse to go by that stupid name my mother insisted on giving me.
Kristen walked in. Johnny did a double-take.
JOHNNY: My word!
KRISTEN: Hello to you too, Johnny.
JOHNNY: You really are almost identical to her.
Topher cleared his throat.
TOPHER: Um, sorry. To whom?
JOHNNY: My grandmother.
Kristen snorted.
KRISTEN: Are you kidding? I look nothing like Susan!
JOHNNY: On the contrary, the resemblance is quite uncanny. In fact, if you were a brunette, wore glasses, had larger teeth, and dressed a little...well, let's be polite, frumpier, then you and grandmother would be identical.
KRISTEN: That is not true! I'd still look much prettier. Besides, I'm a good ten years younger than that hag.
JOHNNY (under his breath): In dog years, perhaps.
Topher, who had been close enough to hear, stifled a laugh with a cough.
KRISTEN: Watch yourself, kid.
JOHNNY: So, where is the fourth member of our little group? The old geezer?
KRISTEN: Don't let him hear you call him that. He's away at the moment. He's taking care of some business.
JOHNNY: Excellent. Now, onto the plan.

SALEM P.D.
SHANE: So, it's settled, then. We split up.
BO: Two of us will go search the Salem Inn for him, the other two will stay here and keep an eye on things.
Jeannie stood.
JEANNIE: I'll go, Uncle Bo.
SHANE: Actually, Jeannie, I would prefer it if you stayed here.
JEANNIE: Why?
SHANE: Just, trust me.
Jeannie sat back down. As quickly as she did, Andrew stood.
ANDREW: Then, I'll go with you, Uncle Bo.
SHANE: No, Andrew. You're staying, as well.
ANDREW: Surely you can't be serious.
SHANE: I am serious, and don't call me Shirley.
ANDREW: Why do I have to stay?
SHANE: We need to the two of you to keep an eye on things here. You're two of the ISA's best agents, so you'll both me more than capable. Your uncle Bo and I shall scope out my brother.
Andrew sat.
BO: Well, good luck, you two. If anything happens, give us a call.
ANDREW: We will.
Bo and Shane walked out.
ANDREW: Oh, great. This is great.
JEANNIE: Great.
ANDREW: This is ridiculous! I should have been the one to go with Uncle Bo.
JEANNIE: No, I should have. I still need a few missions under my belt before I become a special agent.
ANDREW: Well, I'm already a special agent, so obviously, father should have chosen me to go.
JEANNIE: Oh, get over yourself. Dad always chooses you for the cool missions! You're his favorite, after all!
Andrew scoffed.
ANDREW: Me? Oh, please, you're the one he never stops talking about.
JEANNIE: As if! Our whole lives, he's favored you. You're his golden child. You can do no wrong in his eyes.
ANDREW: No, you can do no wrong in his eyes. He's always treated you like a princess.
JEANNIE: Well, then why doesn't he ever take me on exciting adventures like he did with you? Why do I always have to stay back at home while you and he go out and do awesome super spy stuff?

Wow! I love this. The sibling rivalry between Jeannie and Andrew was cute but I'm on the lookout for Jeannie to be replaced by Theresa again. The characterisation of Giovanni is great. Good chapter André DiMera

Chapter 16

PIER
Drew walked down to the Pier. He was looking for someone. Quite soon, he found someone. Or, should I say, someone found him. He received a sharp punch to the face and was knocked to the floor by his twin brother.
SHANE: Pardon me, old chap.
Shane picked Drew up by the shirt and set him back on the ground.
SHANE: So, we meet again, brother.
DREW: Shane, old man. Lovely to see you...
SHANE: I wish I could say the same. What are you doing here, Drew?
Drew gave Shane a good punch in the face.
DREW: Having my revenge on you and the good people of Salem.

SALEM P.D.
The brother and sister team had stopped arguing and were now on opposite sides of the room. Jeannie was on her computer, while Andrew was loading and unloading his gun. Jeannie looked at the gun in her brother's hand.
JEANNIE: Is that an ISA SD-125?
Andrew nodded.
ANDREW: Sure is. Father gave it to me...
JEANNIE: When you became an agent. I know. He gave me the same.
Jeannie pulled out her gun, which is identical to Andrew's.
ANDREW: Well, they are top of the line.
JEANNIE: Yeah, but they're usually reserved for special agents. Chelsea Brady and I were in the same training camp together. Dad gave her an ISA Z-72. It's a nice weapon, but a bit outdated.
ANDREW: Perhaps father saw something special in us.
JEANNIE: Maybe.
Jeannie got up from her computer.
JEANNIE: Did, uh, did dad ever take you out to the training course to shoot at the mannequins?
ANDREW: Only during training. Why?
JEANNIE: Whenever I had a bad day, he and I would go out to the course and shoot the mannequins for hours.
ANDREW: Well, if I was having a bad day, we'd go to the gym. Use the punching bag, picturing a DiMera's face on it.
Jeannie laughed.
JEANNIE: Was it usually Stefano or E.J. that you pictured?
ANDREW: Both.
Andrew and Jeannie laughed.
JEANNIE: Same here. We actually drew Stefano's face on one of the dummies this once.
Andrew and Jeannie laughed again and hugged.
JEANNIE: I'm sorry for earlier, Andrew.
ANDREW: I'm sorry, too, Jeannie.
JEANNIE: Why were we even fighting? It's so stupid.
ANDREW: Yeah. I mean, so father did different things with the two of us. We're different people.
JEANNIE: Yeah, he still loves us equally as much.
ANDREW: Exactly.
There was a momentary silence.
JEANNIE: So...did dad ever give you the “trust your instincts” talk?
ANDREW: All the time.
JEANNIE: You know how he said we should stay here?
ANDREW: Yeah?
JEANNIE: Well, my instincts are telling me that we should have gone with him.
ANDREW: Same here, actually.
JEANNIE: Well, what are we still doing here, then?
Jeannie and Andrew holstered their guns, locked the door, and left.

Aww what a sweet scene between Jeannie and Andrew. Looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble they get into.

Chapter 17

CAR
Bo sat in his car in the middle of a parking lot. His cell phone buzzed. He picked it up.
BO: Brady.
HOPE (over phone): Have you found him yet?
BO: Not yet, Fancy Face. I'm still looking. He was supposed to text me when he found Drew.
HOPE (over phone): Okay. Just checking in.
BO: That's good. I'll stop in for breakfast in about an hour.

BO AND HOPE'S HOUSE
Hope was getting into her police gear.
HOPE: Okay. Sounds good. Love you.
BO (over phone): Love you too, Fancy Face. Look, I'm sure that I'll hear from Shane soon. He probably just got tied up with something.
HOPE: Okay. See you soon.
BO (over phone): Bye.
Hope hung up the phone.
HOPE: Yeah, right. Like I'm just gonna sit here and let you do all the hard work. You know me better than that, Brady.
Hope checked that her gun was loaded, holstered it and walked down the stairs.
HOPE: Ciara?
Ciara walked out of the kitchen.
CIARA: Yeah, mom?
HOPE: I've got some errands to run...
CIARA: Mom, really? In your police uniform?
HOPE: What?
CIARA You really expect me to believe that you're going to run some errands dressed in your police uniform? Come on, mom. 20 years old. That hasn't worked on me since I was, like 9.
HOPE: Okay, it's more than just that.
CIARA: Let me guess: dad still hasn't heard from Uncle Shane and you're going to go help him look.
HOPE: Exactly.
CIARA: Okay. Be careful.
HOPE: Always.
Hope hugged and kissed Ciara.
HOPE: See you later.
CIARA: Bye, mom. Love you.
HOPE: Love you, too.
Hope walked out.

PARK
Andrew and Jeannie walked passed Benchy. Jeannie was walking ahead.
ANDREW: Are you sure it's safe to be in this park?
JEANNIE: Of course I am. I've been doing it for years.
ANDREW: Really, though?
JEANNIE: Why wouldn't it be safe?
ANDREW: I dunno. I've just heard a bunch of stories, that's all. People getting kidnapped and killed whenever they walk through here.
JEANNIE: That's only if they walk through here and they're not expecting anything to happen. So, actually, you're doing the right thing by expecting something to happen.
Jeannie's phone buzzed. She picked it up. There was a tracking device installed on her phone.
JEANNIE: Come on. This way.

Good idea that Jeannie and Andrew are playing it safe by expecting the unexpected.

Maybe Hope will find Shane. I like seeing Jeanne and Andrew working together.

Chapter 18

OUTSIDE THE APARTMENTS
There was a clearing near the apartments. Jeannie and Andrew were hiding behind some bushes in the clearing.
ANDREW: So this is where Uncle Drew is?
JEANNIE: According to the scanner, yeah.
ANDREW: So, why didn't we just drive to the apartments? Why did we have to go through that creepy park?
Jeannie stared at Andrew.
JEANNIE: Really? You've been an ISA agent longer than I have, and you don't get how a stake out works?
ANDREW: Of course I do.
JEANNIE: Hence why we didn't drive here. We don't want to be seen...
BO: Seen by whom?
Jeannie and Andrew jumped as Bo walked up behind them.
JEANNIE: Uncle Bo, what are you doing here?
BO: I could ask you the same question.
ANDREW: Look, we know what father told us, but we haven't heard from him for a day or two, and that's not like him.
BO: So, you two decided to go out and look for him.
JEANNIE: Yep.
BO: Very good.
Then, a fourth person joined them.
HOPE: What, you didn't want to invite me to the party?
ANDREW: Aunt Hope?
HOPE: Hi, Andrew. Mind if I join this stake out?
JEANNIE: Sure, come on.
BO: So, which apartment is it?
ANDREW: No idea, but we intend to find out.

APARTMENT
Shane is tied down to a chair in the center of the room, a gag in his mouth.
JOHNNY: Okay, that's just creepy.
DREW: What?
TOPHER: He looks exactly like you, grandfather.
DREW: Identical twins. That's the way it works.
JOHNNY: Why does the runt keep calling you grandfather? You're Shane's brother. And, let's be honest, Theresa is nothing like the real Jeannie. So, you're not exactly related, are you?
TOPHER: Hey, I am not a runt!
JOHNNY: Just answer the question.
DREW: In the technical sense, no. However, because Theresa was a clone of Jeannie, which I helped Stefano create, I am, in a sense, the closest thing to a father Theresa had. You see, she wasn't just a Jeannie clone. She had some of my DNA, as well. That's why Theresa's hair was reddish brown while Jeannie's is blonde. So, as I said. I am, in a sense, her father.
TOPHER: And, as Theresa is my mother..
Kristen glared at Topher.
TOPHER: I meant biologically. Nobody could really replace you, of course, mother.
KRISTEN: That's better.
TOPHER: As I was saying, since Theresa is my biological mother, Drew over here, is biologically my grandfather.
JOHNNY: I see.
Johnny went over to a nearby window and looked outside.
JOHNNY: So, what is the plan, anyway?
TOPHER: Oh, that's the fun part. We're gonna make Theresa 2.0.
KRISTEN: Get away from the window. Somebody might see you.

Ooh! I was joking the other day when I asked if a Theresa clone had shown up, but apparently I was predicting the future as well. LOL

I'm glad someone explained why Drew was Topher's grandfather because that was confusing me too.

Jeannie and Andrew are newbies compared to Bo and Hope. Glad they're all working together.
