Melanie's return has been almost pointless. I'm sad to say I won't miss her. I'm very grateful that Mel/Brady will be over by the end of May!!!
I will miss Freddie though! I can't imagine a recast. Freddie IS Sonny!

yes freddie is Sonny..but with a very good recast i think it would work out. maybee Chandler massey could return but this time play sonny ha ha dye his hair black..that be a hoot lol would be weird seeing old Will with new Will  |

Thats exactly where I saw it. I asked Molly if she was leaving and she said no but I guess she couldn't confirm it then. It just really sucks. I was hoping she would be back for longer but her & Freddie are so involved with Nerium & making a lot of money there, so that could be one reason they don't want to do Days anymore. I think it's a bit of a waste for her to be back just for this storyline. I would think her rivalry with Theresa would intensify if (as I suspect) Brady chooses Theresa over her once the baby is in the picture. I can think of plenty of things they could do with this character. What is Nerium? Nerium is a new skin care line that is phenomenal!!!! Both Freddie & Molly are thriving with this company and making more money then they ever could acting. I'm actually on Molly's team and she is a great leader!!!! I have so much respect and admiration for her! |

I'm not that surprised about Freddie Smith as many of the 20 something actors leave when their contracts are up.
Maybe Molly Burnett only signed on for a 6 month stint.

She is my team leader and anytime we have a meeting we get to skype with Molly!! It's so much fun & she is so encouraging and such a team leader. I'm sad Freddie is leaving because he has the most perfect chemistry with his onscreen parents, Wally and Judi. I don't want them to recast Sonny. They can have him just leave the show and maybe he will return. But exactly how, I'm not sure...hopefully Dena Higley will write Freddie a proper sendoff.

I'm not pleased to hear about Freddie's departure. I've enjoyed him a lot over the last few years and will miss him. I am very pleased to hear about Molly leaving though. I agree with unavitasegreta in regards to her latest return. It seemed absolutely pointless to me. Melanie hogged a lot of airtime in December and her involvement in Theresa's S/L has irked me to no end. |

I guess they needed to give Brady some sex scenes because I think Melanie's story could have been done exactly the same without pairing her with Brady. Her jealousy of Theresa just makes Mel look immature and since she's already a child and dating a man her father's age, it all combined to make her look wildly pathetic. And that doesn't even include her petulant return arc during November sweeps when she was chased by casino vampires. I'm going to miss Freddie. He had chemistry with everyone (well, except Guy Wilson, IMO)! I'll miss the Sonny/Vic scenes the most, I think. He makes Victor more human. Victor has to provide for idiot Brady and then praise him for staying sober for fifteen minutes. But he can be proud of and admire Sonny for what he's actually accomplished. |

Sorry to see Freddie go but glad to see the young actors try their wings.
I always liked Mollie and the Melanie character. This latest storyline did neither any favors.

There's nothing wrong in wanting to get out there and try other things. I'd be fine with a recast. I think there's plenty of story for the character of Sonny whether he and Will are together or not. Melanie's return was pointless. It looks like she was brought in just to discover the truth about the Thrady baby. There are other characters who could, and should have had that part of the storyline. Interesting how the writers love Melanie and Daniel and they gobble up lots of screen time yet neither had their own storyline. Daniel hasn't had a storyline since Dannifer ended. He just keeps getting inserted in other characters stories. I won't miss Melanie. |
