Fan faves Stephen Nichols (Steve) and Peter Reckell (Bo) are returning to Salem, and Digest has the scoop. “Stephen Nichols and Peter Reckell have signed deals to come back for the 50th anniversary,” Executive Producer Ken Corday tells Digest exclusively. “They represent two of the most popular characters in the history of the show.” The NBC soap will turn 50 on November 8, but look for the actors to pop up on screen well before then. Nichols was last seen in 2009; Reckell last aired in 2012. For more, pick up the next issue of Digest, on sale this weekend.

I personally hope Bo is only around a short time to get closure with Hope and Ciara. Steve can stay longer. You know who I'd like to see have scenes together? JJ and his uncle Steve. That could be interesting.

Thanks everyone glad i could share the exciting news i cannot wait to see Bo's reaction to the news that Hope and Aidan are a couple and in love..there will be fireworks i'm sure lol but Bo did it not Hope she waited for as long as she could. Bo put work first instead of his family! i like Hope and Aidan as a couple.

Steve i hope he stays a longtime. he would put Eve in her place. and scenes between him and JJ would be great.

The announcement of Peter Reckell's return has officially ruined my day!!! I hate the fact that they have announced this so early. Just spoils any enjoyment I will get from watching Hope and Aiden from this point on. Totally disappointed!

Happy to see Stephen Nichols return though.

my source tells me peter reckel Bo is only back for the 50th as for Stephen Nickels Steve i hope his stay is longer! but both actors will be back way before the 50th on Nov 8th!

Maybe Billie or Carly will come back with Bo and that will solve that.

OT - I was at work reading a soap magazine with Stephen Nichols on the cover. One of the guys in the office remarked that Stephen looked like he could be my brother. Not quite what I had in mind.

The returns make sense for the 50th anniversary since they were part of two very popular super couples.

I wish Patch weren't only back because of the 50th. I'd like to see him in more of a long-term role, especially since Kayla is floundering.

I think Bo will cause some tension and drama, but I don't think Hope will go back to him at this point. The fans have really taken to Hope and Aiden as a couple. Hopefully Bo's return will serve as long-awaited official closure.

Mary Beth Evans seems thrilled about Stephen's return and sent him a lovely message on Twitter. Kristian Alfonso has not acknowledged Peter's return at all. It does make one wonder what is going on behind the scenes.
