Days Casting Cuts??? (Read 964 times)

There is speculation that Days of Our Lives may be forced to make some cuts to their cast:

Although nothing has been confirmed at this point, I am interested to know what everyone thinks? Will it happen? Do you think casting cuts are necessary at this point? Are there any characters that you would like to see on that list?

Jordan
Clyde
Ben
Abigail
Serena
Melanie
Daniel
Will
Eve

I really wouldn't miss any of these. The only ones I would want to see return at a later date would be Daniel (maybe) and Will (with a less annoying personality).

Rafe is a possibility unless they have a storyline planned for him.

I wonder if Paul will stay in Salem long term. I guess it depends on whether Will and Sonny break up.

I'd be fine with a LOT of people leaving and the show focussing on a core group of characters. Just think of what we could be watching instead if Ben and Abbys boring sex scenes, or all of Jordan's scenes were cut out. How many days did we spend watching Eric and Serena trying to convince us they had a great love? Cut Serena and show us something better.

I prefer to see some of the people who are currently on recurring status like Victor, Lucas, Kayla, Adrienne.

I think DOOL has the smallest cast of the soaps, but I certainly wouldn't mind the Weston family hitting the road! Will can go too.

I think there are a few characters that aren't really contributing to any storyline and could go:

Abigail(she hasn't brought anything to the show since the affair)
Ben(pointless character IMO, other than being someone for Abby to sleep with)
Kate(hate to say it, but she's just kind of there and aside from Clyde, doesn't alter any storyline one way or another)
Serena(don't understand the purpose of bringing her to Salem in the first place)
Paige(this character reminds of Jordan)
Eve(totally wasted her time in Salem thus far)

I think they need to concentrate on their original core families, the Brady's and the Horton's with a few other characters sprinkled into the mix ex. Victor
