Not sure if any of you have heard or are interested, but Soap Digest confirmed today and AMC and OLTL will continue airing online as web soaps once they are finished on ABC.

I saw it on-line. There was a link from the msn homepage. I wonder how many of the actors they can afford to keep. Or how many will choose to continue if asked. The bad thing is for some older viewers like my mother-in-law who won't watch on-line. It's still better than no show.

I don't watch those shows but I'm excited that they will be continuing for those that do and I'm interested in seeing how well this works out. We are all a bit concerned over the future of soaps in general and it would be great if we see a resurgence in these two shows once they find a new home. There is a lot of speculation in the soap fan world that Frons' sabotage is behind a lot of the difficulties with ABC soaps.
@fluffy, just curious why your mom won't be able to watch her shows online. Is it slow internet service or because it seems too strange/confusing to her?

My mother in law rarely ever uses the computer other than for checking e-mail occassionally. So I find it unlikely that she'd want to watch on the computer. I could be completely wrong. Maybe it will get her interested in the computer.
I am curious as to how much of the casts they will be able to keep. I am definitely curious as to how it will work out also.

^^ Oops, I need to pay closer attention, "mother-in-law" not "mother".... I've been trying to my dad and stepmom more interested in the computer also. I managed to get my stepmom interested in Ebay and finally Facebook but my father's only interest is in playing chess on it . I could probably get her intersted in watching Y&R (that's her show) on it if that were absolutely the only way to see it, but even if I could there internet service probably isn't fast enough. I don't want to get too afar of the thread topic, I was just curious what your experience was like with an elder relative because of my own interest in trying to promote technology with mine.
