Salem's most recent arrival is famous baseball pitcher Paul Narita. His character is being described as charming, handsome and a big flirt.
He has already flirted with Kayla and spoilers indicate that Jordan, Theresa and Abigail will be on his radar as well.
What does everyone think about the future of this character? Are we being duped? Do you think that it will turn out that he is gay?
There were some recent comments made by Jason47 in regards to Theresa and Paul. They seem to hint that things might not be as cut and dried as they appear to be where Paul is concerned.
Has anyone else heard any rumblings about this?

How would everyone feel about having another gay character in Salem? I'm all for it! I'd like to see Will realize that Sonny is a catch and someone else might be able to offer him more than this "boring" life Will is trying to escape. |

I don't think he should be gay. Less than 2 percent of the U.S. population is gay and it should be the same balance in Salem. I am hoping that Daniel botches Paul's operation and he can never play baseball again, just to bring Daniel down a few notches.

Personally I think the character is going to be gay. He is laying it on a little to thick with the ladies, which makes me suspicious. I do think the show needs another gay person to spice up Sonny and Will. Maybe he will be bi-sexual, has there ever been a bi-sexual character on a soap.

I don't care whether he's gay or straight. I just hope his story has more direction than a lot of the new characters who've been brought on lately. If he's going to be sticking around Salem for long his surgery may end up being a failure. After all, Spring training starts in February.  |

That's a very good question. I think it's possible that Theresa and Paul might be involved for a bit, but who knows for how long. It would be really funny if Theresa got blind-sided by Paul turning out to be gay. I actually wouldn't mind Paul be gay, but what if he fails to come between Will and Sonny? That's gotta be a problem since there seems to be no other gay person in Salem. Maybe one of the upcoming male characters might turn out to be gay? Or making Paul bisexual might be easier since he would have more options in the female department.

I hope Paul turns out to be bi. It would fit the way his character has been written better. In addition, there are very few bi characters on TV, which helps support the myth that there's no such thing as bisexuality. Either way, I'm glad to see there's more than two non-heterosexual people in Salem, since gay and bi people make up about 10% of the population.
