I've never watched a telenovela (I don't speak spanish) but I understand that they move really quickly and have a clear beginning, middle, and end. While I don't want Days to ever end, it would be nice if things moved more quickly. We've been going at a much faster clip since May and that's been great, but I feel like we're slowing down a bit. Didn't Brady beat up EJ two weeks ago? Let's get some movement on that story! My mother tells me that when she was in college (in the early 70s) that if you missed ONE day of Days, you'd be lost. It used to move sooooooo fast you had to watch to keep up. Now it seems that if you watched once a week you'd be ok. Maybe that's why they're losing viewers? Just my guess.

It really has lost that dynamic. They are catering to the occasional viewers who only watch once or twice a week, and for those who actually get to watch daily, it becomes redundant with all of the flashbacks and the slow pace. If it wasn't such a habit for me to watch I don't think I would watch. If I didn't watch I would almost feel lost. When I was working I never got to watch, I just read summaries, which doesn't help with viewership. I knew what was going on but never actually saw it.

Don't they run for maybe 3 months or so? The writers wouldn't have to come up with nonsense to keep separating the couples that's for sure. I am curious to check one out. There are probably some on all of the spanish channels on my cable. My 7 year old has had 2 years of spanish at school so maybe she can translate. LOL

I've seen clips from different telenovellas on "The Soup" and usually they are like Passions, but in spanish. At least those are the clips that make "The Soup."
Side note, the leading men are usually mucho caliente!

I wonder how an English speaking telenovela would go over? Or at least some subtitles.
