We are leaving Friday to go camping through Tuesday and we are camping right across the street from where we will be doing a bump and run race on Sunday. There is a group of 5 campers going-us, my parents, my brother and his family, some friends of ours that race and their family, and friends of theirs that help us build the race cars. Should be a good time.

I wish I was doing something fun, but alas, I am not. I have 4 summer on-line classes and they are starting now. If you are keeping track, that was 5 classes in May/June and now 4 in July/August. Yes, that's NINE classes this summer. I am insane.
On top of that, my dance team is going to camp next week (we leave on the 6th) and they will be competing for the first time. This week is filled with last minute rehearsals and a slight sense of panic. They're excited. I'm freaking out!!! It's my first year coaching and I really want them to do well. Mostly I want them not to be embarassed. AAHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Ok. Sorry. Small freak out. I'm ok now.

We're under a burn ban, so no popping of fireworks for us. Even the public fireworks displays are cancelled. We are having some friends over so we can have a cookout and let our kids play.

Haven't really decided on anything yet. Some friends of mine have a lake house & I may take the kids there Saturday afternoon to watch the big firework show that they are putting on that night. Other than that, it will probably just be cleaning my house and working in my yard. I'm hoping that we get some rain. Our hayfields really do need it right now.....

DD- Good luck. I am sure they will do great!! Rockford- That is awful! I hope you get some rain soon!! Can you at least do some sparklers or something like that? Mae- We own a house at a lake and the fireworks on the lake were my favorite part of living there. We would take our boat out on the lake and watch them out on the water. It was awesome!!

I am looking forward to it. We are going camping on thursday. Usually we end up going to the Legislature Grounds for fireworks, but now that we have the camper, we decided that it would be more fun to go camping. I wish we were able to bring out sea doo though. But we can't pull it with the trailer. I need to trade my car in for something bigger. LOL

MrsM, if we want to pay $1000 fine, we could do sparklers. Usually we used the sparklers to keep the mosquitoes at bay, but we're so dry we don't have any mosquitoes. At least the burn ban allows us to still grill out, so we can do burgers and hot dogs or ribs. Oh, I'm making myself hungry.... Personally, I'm not disappointed because I've never been big on doing our own fireworks...that's my hubby's thing. And we can still do those little champagne bottle poppers and the pops that you throw on the ground (those are Annabelle's favorite). And I'm going to do a craft with Annabelle with glitter and glue to 'draw' our own fireworks on construction paper. So at least something will sparkle around here.

Same here...no firecrackers but we never do anyway. The public ones are sort of still happening but they are so crowded and it's so hot...Hardly any rain here and none on the 7 day forecast) are you in Texas???

We don't do our own, but we love watching them. Katie thinks it is the best early birthday gift.

SG, I'm in southern Oklahoma. I'm surprised it's taken this long for them to issue a burn ban for us, especially because the sale of fireworks has been going on for about two weeks already.

No definite plans yet. We usually have a family bbq during the day and go to the Fireworks on the Levee event in the evening and more than likely will be doing the same this year.
@sg, thanks for the holiday threads - that was a great idea and I'm especially glad that you included Canada Day. I don't know/remember the Canadian holidays very well myself but we have several Canadian members here and I'm thankful you remembered them also.

We're not doing anything special. BBQ, fireworks, and rest. Much needed rest, LOL
It sounds divine, since our life has been crazy buzy lately.
