I just like to know your thoughts. She's in dire need of one.

You know, if the writers would do it right, this would be a perfect time to introduce bullying and the fallout from it . Theresa could have been an A+ student like Paige and been bullied to the point where she unsuccessfully tried to take her life. Her parents came in and saved her, which fueled her resentment towards them becuase in her mind they prolonged it, and then she turned to drugs and other ways to cope with the bullying and find a "clique" that would in essence protect her. Issues within that "clique" could be why Shane & Kim sent her to Salem.
After giving another thread some thought about her redemption - this would be about the only way I could ever sympathize even just a little with Theresa.

But I haven't seen anything that would indicate she was a A+ student. But yeah that would be perfect. By the way, how do you edit a poll?

Well, she doesn't necessarily have to be an A+ student. I was just more going for the good girl aspect of it until the bullying became too much. Like I said, if they were to take that route with her back story, they would have to be very careful and do this just right - just like they did with Will's coming out storyline. No rushed explanations or excuses. I'm not sure you can edit a poll once it's published. We do have an FYI forum that you can visit for help with the forum. That link is myhourglass.proboards.com/board/11/I'm sure Kpatch or one of the other moderators could answer your question about the poll. I haven't done many so I'm just not sure and would hate to steer you in the wrong direction.

Now you got me curious about the bullying theory. Why would Theresa ever have been bullied in the first place?

That would be the beauty of a bullying story. There doesn't have to be a reason it happened. I like these ideas you guys are throwing out!

I agree with the bullying idea. I really like that idea! However, there doesn't have to be a reason. It could be as simple as the fact that her dad is never home. Some kids can find any reason to bully another person.

I'm in agreement with everyone else. Anymore, there doesn't have to be a reason behind the bullying. The focus of that storyline could be a simply what kids were saying/doing to her and then how her actions progressed from there....more of Theresa's feelings/struggles and reasons for her choices.

Some kids can find any reason to bully another person. My opinion is that usually bullies tend to pick on people that they view as weaker than them. Whatever weakness they perceive, they would isolate it and use it against them. I was thinking maybe the child abuse backstory could be combined with the bullying. Maybe the kids' taunting could have compunded Theresa's feelings of worthlessness along with her stepfather's rage. Maybe Theresa was as smart as Paige once upon a time and she was a good person. I've seen movies where the villain tries to act nice and the other people treat him horribly. Then he turns evil and retaliates against them.

I do like the whole idea of bullying with her, and it fits into what is going on in the school systems today. I think this would be a perfect way to redeem her and shine a light on bullying!

Not to mention that the bullying theory actually might explain a lot of Theresa's behavior, including her tendency to get upset when people yell at her and why she might have been provoked by John saying all of those horrible things to her.
