This news is a little late, but I just read a recent post from Jason47, regarding Alex Shipp(Mary Beth).  In July, Alex was chosen to play the role of Aaliyah in a Lifetime made-for-TV movie(also called Aaliyah). 

Apparently, Alex chose to leave Days to pursue this movie opportunity. There is still no word as to whether or not Alex will return or if there will be a Marybeth recast(if needed).

***The movie Aaliyah is scheduled to premiere on Lifetime on Nov. 15th***

Thanks for the info @dukeblue. I hate the character of Mary Beth, but she's not supposed to be likeable. She is, however, a good actress and really beautiful. Good luck to her.

I had heard she was in the movie but not that she'd left Days. I'm sad to hear that, but very happy for her!

Yeah, it'd make sense if she takes the fall for the JJ situation and that spares Eve and Paige's relationship.

Good. I hope Mary Beth never comes back. She was a waste of space. Anne could easily fill her shoes. They're more or less the same character.

Considering how far ahead the show films, Marybeth could still be on the air for a couple months.

It will especially if it all ends up hitting the fan that Mary Beth was involved in trying to break up Paige and JJ by helping out Eve to do it, then yes Paige would drop Mary Beth as a friend
