Chapter 47
PARK
Lucas and Kate were walking through the park, as Kate explained the way in which Jordan had tortured her, and everything that had led up to that point.
LUCAS: That's horrible!
KATE: You're telling me.
LUCAS: What was the point of that, anyway? The lights?
KATE: I have no idea. I think she was trying to break me. Like, if I had said that there were five lights, when it was clear there were only four, I would say anything she waned me to say.
LUCAS: But, you didn't?
KATE: No! No, of course not. The thing is, though...
LUCAS: What?
KATE: Before you rescued me...at the end...I believed I could see five lights.
Then, they heard a noise.
JORDAN (yelling): KATE!!!
Jordan, swinging her ax violently ran in. Lucas pulled a gun out of his pocket, shot, and hit Jordan.
EVE'S APARTMENT
Eve walked in. J.J. and Paige were sitting on the couch.
EVE: Hi, guys. What's happening?
PAIGE: Sit down, please, mother. We have something to discuss.
EVE: Okay. What's going on?
PAIGE: I remember everything.
EVE: Really? That's great!
PAIGE: Is it? Is it really, mother? Because, I also figured out something else. You set J.J. up.
EVE: What?!
J.J.: It wasn't that hard to figure out. You set me up, Eve.
PAIGE: You hired Jill to make me think that J.J. was cheating on me. And then you slept with my boyfriend.
EVE: No, no! It was all a mistake! I swear!
PAIGE: A mistake? A mistake?! What you did was sick, mom! It was disgusting!
DIMERA MANSION
The house was shaking as a gold light permiated the room.
SAMI: What have you done?
STEFANO: It's working!
Stefano cackled maniacally.
STEFANO: It's working!
The five who stood in a circle began to levitate.
ANDRE, REX, CASSIE, E.J., & CHAD: We have the power. We will control the world. We are the prism, and the prism is us.
The five took their hands off the prism and took each other's hands. They formed a circle.
ANDRE, REX, CASSIE, E.J., & CHAD: And we...are...your masters now.
The DiMera Mansion imploded. The five people who now formed the prism flew out of it.
FILM STUDIO
DEWEY: Ms. Brady?
SAMI: Yes?
Sami sat in a film studio in Los Angeles with three filmmakers: Mr. Dewey, Mr. Cheetham, and Mr. Howe.
CHEETHAM: Ms. Brady, as fascinating as this story is, I don't think that this is really a part of your life.
SAMI: Really? You don't believe that?
HOWE: A family of mobsters and killers who constantly get a way with everything and have since become all powerful? A southern hick and his daughter/wife whose only facial expression is that of someone who has just smelled a particularly disgusting dump right under her nose, a man-crazy ex-hooker who slept with her daughter's boyfriend and inadvertently led to her having amnesia, and a drug fiend who gets clean with help from her sassy ex-colleague? Do you really expect us to believe any of this?
SAMI: Oh, that. Of course I don't want you to believe that. I was just preparing you for how unusual my life really is.
Dewey, Cheetham and Howe laughed.
DEWEY: Really? How do you expect us to believe that your life is stranger than that story you cooked up?
SAMI: Oh, believe me, gentlemen, it is. Those are just things that could have happened. There're a million "what ifs", but those are just fiction. I think you will all find that sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction.
