So this Polar Bear in Argentina has recently become somewhat famous and his story is going viral. Arturo has been labeled the worlds saddest animal, due to the horrible conditions he is living in. Arturo is currently living in temperatures that can climb to as high as 40 degrees. Polar bears like him typically need to live in temperatures at minus 40 degrees. I live in Winnipeg, MB and our Assinaboine Park Zoo currently just opened The International Polar Bear Conservation Centre, paired with a Journey to Churchill habitats aimed at issues related to climate change, polar bears and other northern species. I'ts the only one like it in the world and the best place for a polar bear like Arturo. The International Polar Bear Conservation Centre offered to help Arturo but the Argentinean Zoo declined and said their facilities were good enough, which is just not true.
Animals are near and dear to me and in an effort to do as much as possible and spread some awareness I thought I would just post some links here and you guys can check them out and if you'd like to help you can sign the petitions to have Arturo moved to Winnipeg's Polar Bear Conservation Centre which i'll link below!
