I'm actually kind of surprised. When she left Molly Burnett said she saw Days as her college, and that she wanted to do movies and Broadway. I know she hasn't done anything big yet, but she has been working steadily since Days ended. I wouldn't have expected her to give up so quickly. Maybe she is just coming back for a short story arc.

I liked Melanie until she became Daniel's daughter, then it all went downhill. I do think perhaps she'll clash with Theresa since Theresa really needs someone in her age bracket to spar with. Fighting with 'old enough to be her mother' Jenn and the teeny-bopper crowd hasn't given her much options. Melanie was close friends with Brady so maybe she'll be protective of Brady and of course she'll clash with Theresa over Daniel and Jenn obviously.

I hope they don't just bring her back and have her wander around like other characters have (John Black, particularly). I guess we won't find out for four months anyway (or more..).

I doubt that she would go after him romantically, but I'm sure she would try to protect him against her (and hopefully do a better job than everyone else is). |

The writers attempted a Brady/Melanie pairing but it didn't go over so well. Those two are better with their brother/sister type bond/friendship. I don't think it will be a triangle but I fully believe if anyone can get Brady back on track its Melanie. She has a way of getting thru to him when no one else can. Theresa better watch out. Melanie can make that little girl's head spin before she knows what ever hit her. That could be interesting and fun to watch.

Yes, I liked Melanie better when she was sparring with someone. The first time I ever thought I might like her just a little bit was when she and Stephanie started going round and round at Titan.

I like Melanie, so personally I'm happy with this news! I'm excited for her return and to see how she will mix back in to the story
