Jennifer and Daniel talk throughout the entire show. She wants to drop the subject of Nicole for now but Daniel won't let her. She finally admits that she doesn't think Nicole or Daniel would have ever told Eric the truth. She felt like she had no choice but to go to Eric. Daniel objects. He says that he would have told Eric if Nicole hadn't. Jennifer thinks that Daniel would have kept letting Nicole have another chance.
Finally Daniel says you don't know me at all. And he thinks that he must not know Jennifer either.

The two of them kept repeating the same three lines of dialogue the whole hour. Daniel was back to speaking haltingly like he used to. It was painful to watch, just from a bad acting and bad scripting perspective. The bottom line is that Nicole would have gotten Eric to leave town and elope with him before Daniel had a chance to tell him the truth. That is all that matters.

Has there ever been a more boring couple. No, I don't think there was. And, I think Jennifer's insecurities are finally showing (and hopefully Daniel really sees them).

Sadly, I agree with Jenn to a point. Daniel wants to believe the best in Nicole and underestimates her desperation. So yes, Nicole would have made sure Daniel didn't have an opportunity to tell Eric. He gave her too many chances.
But, Jennifer's lack of faith in Daniel is showing, her insecurities are showing, and her judgmentalness is showing. She says she wants to protect Daniel from Nicole and her manipulations, but really she's trying to protect Daniel from what she perceives as a flaw of his own character. She thinks he's "too good" for his own good. *eyeroll*

Has there ever been a more boring couple. Yes. I may start a thread about boring couples.

My favourite part of Jennifer's speech was her reference to Daniel's choice about dealing with JJ and how she knew he only did it to protect them. It was okay for his judgement to be swayed by his feelings for Jennifer and her children, but not okay for his judgement to be altered because of his feelings for Nicole. Jennifer is such a hypocrite. She left the hotel before she knew Daniel was going to the hospital, ergo...she didn't trust Daniel to handle it. Jennifer can dance about the subject all she wants, but that is why she felt she needed to be the one to enlighten Eric.

Just one more point to make about Jennifer. I can understand how some could side with Jennifer, because we as viewers were able to see the whole scene play out. Yes, we know that Daniel wasn't able to accompany Nicole to the park and we know that she would have never told Eric on her own.
However, the character of Jennifer wasn't privy to all of the conversation and didn't stick around to hear all of Daniel's demands.

That is true. She told him that she doesn't trust his judgment. I agree with her that it's a pattern with him. He is willing to lie and keep secrets as long as he deems it a worthy cause. I don't think Jennifer is a hypocrite where protecting JJ is concerned because she didn't know it was going on until after the fact. She did not ask him to do it. And I do think that it is appropriate for Daniel to protect Jennifer's family as if they were his own family, since he sees himself spending his life with her. Nicole is really nothing but trouble, nothing but a drama hound and Daniel has bent over backwards for her. The relationship between Nicole and Daniel is pretty much all a one-way street.

I don't think JJ deserved to end up in jail because of Teresa. Daniel didn't think so either. JJ never asked Daniel to lie for him.
Nicole has been manipulating Daniel and dragging him into her lies.

Has there ever been a more boring couple. Since you asked, yes, in my opinion, Rafe and Jordan are exponentially more boring.

Jennifer made her decision to act without knowing whether Daniel was actually planning on (and actually able to without being paged by the hospital) following through with being with Nicole when she told Eric. That right there invalidates her arguments for the most part. Even if he and Nicole left the hotel and found Eric, Jennifer would have still beaten them to the punch.

Considering Nicole and Eric were leaving within hours for Vegas with no return date planned, it wasn't the time to wait and see if Nicole would finally do the right thing.

Right, Daniel's plan was too open-ended. That was the problem. He may have intended to follow through, but by then it would be too late. He gave Nicole way too much slack in the rope.
