When did you start watching "Days?" and the first storyline you remember?
I started watching "Days" in the early eighties! I remember watching it with my Mom, when I was about 12 or 13. I also remember taping episodes on a VCR. The first storyline I remember is "The Prism."

Oh golly. I remember mom watching it when I was a kid, but not well. I do remember Dr Tom and Alice, Marlena, Mickey and Maggie, and Doug and Julie, though.
I started watching when I was older--around the time Kate came to town, or a little before.

I started watching in the early 80's as well. My mother had her daily afternoon of soaps-Days, AW, & GH, but Days was the one that captured my interest. I don't remember what the storylines were exactly, but I remember being fixated on Bo & Hope.

The first story I remember is Addie, Julie and Doug. I was writing a paper on Emily Dickenson when Mickey met Maggie. I was in the midst of teenage angst at that time and their story was wonderfully romantic to me. My Days history is hit and miss. There were lots of time outs because of school, work, life in general. I took a break when all my favs were killed by MARLENA. I came back only to leave when Zac was killed -- too much for me. I returned in 2009 and have been steadfast ever since. The characters are like old friends you don't see for awhile but when you meet up again it is like no time has passed.

I was 14. My family had just moved from overseas where we had one american channel for the military and I think they showed one soap while I was at school and I think everything was like three months behind, might have been General Hopsital, not Days for sure. Anyway, we went to visit my grandma that summer and she watched Days, maybe a few others too but Days is what got me. The only story I remember was Frankie and Jennifer. I guess I related to them b/c they were supposed to be about the same age, I probably had a crush on Frankie and wanted to be a cute little blond barbie doll like Jennifer. Maybe that's why I still stick up for Jennifer so much, her story is kind of what got me hooked. I'm like kathyj, I've watched on and off since then b/c of school and boredom with the show as well. Recording TV wasn't so easy back then. Anyway, I agree, the people on the show kind of feel like old friends so I guess that's why sometimes, even when I'm kind of bored with the show I still check in. It's familiar and comforting.

I started watching in April, 1983 when I was 5. The first episode I watched was the episode Kristian Alfonso debuted as Hope and I was completely mesmorized by her (in a platonic way).

I'm not going to say what year it was, you can figure it out. But I was a baby and didn't understand what was going on when I was watching. The first storyline I remember is when Bill Horton got drunk and had his way with his brother's wife, Laura. In retrospect, I don't think they wanted Laura to be an adulteress. Anyway, that was the night Mike Horton was conceived and it led to the longest paternity reveal in history. I think it was 8 years real time, but Mike was SORAS'd to a teenager when he found out that Mickey wasn't his father. He confronted Mickey, who had no idea. That's when Mickey had a heart attack and subsequently had amnesia and ended up at Maggie's farm as her hired hand Marty Hanson. Good times.

I also started watching at a VERY young age. One of the first scenes that pop into my mind was when Sami appeared on the scene. I believe she was trying to break into her house. Don't remember why or where she had been but I do remember that. Also remember when Lucas came to pick her up for the prom.

I started watching in the mid 70s when I was a teenager. What I remember most is Marlena coming to town. I was captivated by everything that happened with her, especially when she fell in love with Roman (Wayne Northrop). Another story that I remember is there being a little bit of tension between Marlena and Maggie when Maggie fell in love with Don Craig. I also remember liking Maggie with Don a lot more than with Mickey. Don was romantic and Mickey was I don't know other than I didn't like him much at all.

I started watching with my mom when I was 8. My brother had slept over at my cousin's and watched it with her and he used to loudly announce that he couldn't wait for me and my sister to go to bed so they could watch their show that we were too young for. My mom let us watch when he wasn't around lol. One of the first stories I remember is the Riverfront Knifer and of course Steve and Kayla's courtship and wedding. I also really liked the original Eve story and I was so disappointed by what they did to her character upon her return.
Anyway I pretty much watched til high school when part of rebelling was not watching things my parents liked lol. Watched on and off through college and beyond, and started watching full time again when I moved back home about a month after JJ came back to Salem. His story drew me in along with Eric and Nicole's. I will probably be a lifelong viewer.

I can't remember exact details, but it was sometime in 1997. Sami knew Lucas was Will's father, but everyone else still thought Austin was. I was kind of watching off and on in the beginning. I became a more regular viewer once Shawn and Belle SORAS'd. I actually remember Belle's first scene! John and Marlena returned from their honeymoon and Belle was home (I miss the penthouse) and Marlena commented on how much Belle had grown. LOL I'm pretty sure I also remember Shawn's first scene, if it's the one I'm thinking of: Shawn and Alice were at the hospital. He had left boarding school and just arrived in Salem. He had an attitude and was wearing a leather jacket and his ear was pierced. Alice told him he looks like a homeless person. (Hardly!) I had such a huge crush on him.

I remember watching quite a bit in the eighties. I remember Kayla and Steve, and Bo and Hope were on the show a lot. Adrienne had a lot of dramatic scenes then too. And there was also Kimberly and Shane, Roman, Marlena, John, Jennifer, Victor and that crazy character Calliope. I was a serious soap fan in the eighties, so much so that I had a radio that would pick up tv and I would sometimes take it in the car with me to listen to the soaps when I went somewhere. Didn't watch Days much after the eighties, a bit here and there but not enough to commit to the stories. I became a serious watcher again a couple of years ago. I was so pleased to see so many of the original cast members still on the show.
