But the 20-something set on Days is shrinking and those who are left are pretty darn boring so I might be able to handle it. I just hope the actress has gotten over her obsession with trying to act like Jennifer Aniston. If she does come back they're going to have to add some more young men to the show too. There are not enough in Salem. |

I agree. I'd love to see Phillip return but not if it means a Phelanie reunion. Of course, maybe I'm so desperate for some Phillip I'd be able to stomach it just to have Jay on my screen.

If Melanie returns then it makes sense considering she is Daniel's daughter but also she is Parker's big sister and Maggie's granddaughter so giving Maggie more family makes sense at this point but if anyone can knock some sense into Brady it is definitely Melanie

I would be just fine if Melanie came back, especially if it means Philip comes back. I liked Phelanie together.

I would be fine with Melanie (and Molly) returning. I just hope the writers move forward and do not repeat situations and stories we have already seen. Melanie will be a few years older with more life experiences and that should be reflected in her stories.

The character of Melanie was on canvas during the years that I was taking a break from DOOL, so I'm not qualified to make any judgement. However, her potential return will mean that steady screen time for Daniel continues, no? I am not sure I will welcome that.
On a side note, I missed Phillip on canvas entirely as well <<ducking>>. Does anyone know where I could find Phillip's storyline(s) through the years in chronological order? On YT maybe?

I would love for Melanie to come back. Melanie was the one and only person that could get through to Brady. I loved their brother/sister dynamic without being related or in a relationship. Something this show is desperately lacking. they came close with Daniel & Nicole but they have ruined that one. I was hoping she would come back with the Kristen storyline but maybe she can drag Brady away from Theresa. I admit, I despised Melanie when she first appeared. However, the writers did a good job giving her some history to explain why she did some of the things she did. Was she childish? Sure at times. Did she have annoying little habits? Who doesn't? But overall, when she left the show, I was saddened. This was a character I had grown to love and could relate to (maybe it's a redhead thing  ). I loved her feistiness and sass. And I loved how she was the only one who could get away with calling Victor "Poppa Vic". She got to that man in more ways than one and it was always hilarious. I loved when her & Phillip were trying to buy a house and Victor kept buying the houses out from under them. Then she announces that they are moving in with him. Oh the look on his face!!! And I would love for Philip to come back. I miss seeing those dimples. I always loved Phelanie as those two loved and accepted each other for who they really were. They didn't try to change the other. But I'm not sure how I feel about a reunion between them right now. the writers would have to get me back on board with that one. |

The characters I liked were pushed aside or off screen. I would like things to be more balanced if she returns. |

I hope she comes back!! She is such a great actress and she was great at being Melanie :)I loved Philip with Melanie so maybe if she comes back, they will bring Philip back as well  |

If Melanie does come back I will speculate here and say that they will either throw her in Ben's orbit or they will throw her in Brady's direction

I hated it when they tried to start making everyone under the sun love her, kind of like they do with Daniel now. I hate it when they write that way for any character. But yeah, my biggest reservation is that I don't want the Daniel and Melanie show. Daniel is already on enough. Guess we'll see soon enough. All I know is, this show definitely needs a kick in the butt. Characters like Jordan and Ben are not going to keep me tuning in. Jen Lilley is a great actress but the show doesn't know how to write a compelling story for her so I don't really root for her either sadly. |

Slyn has a lot of them on Youtube with a focus on Philip and Melanie, although I'm not sure if she chronicled the teen years. Her videos look like they have dates on them, so you can try to view them in order.
