Daniel and Jennifer talk about the problem he can't discuss. Maxine and Abe arrive for the lunch that Dannifer forgot about.
Abe and Jennifer go to the store to pick up the salmon.
Maxine and Daniel stay at the apartment. Maxine tells Daniel that she and Abe were considering becoming more than friends. They have decided to stay good friends. Daniel wants her to do whatever makes her happy.
Maxine asks what is going on with Daniel. He says he is pushing a friend to do the right thing. He fears the friend will never forgive him. He tells a story about his late wife Rebecca. He pushed her to reconcile with her family before she died. Rebecca followed his advice.

I wonder why they decided to have Maxine and Abe just be friends. It would be nice if they were something more. They don't need to have a front-burner romance, but no harm in a back burner story.
Was anyone else annoyed by the overly loud clatter of dishes during Maxine and Daniel's talk? Maybe it's my new TV but it was drowning out the dialogue.

What was on that paper that Daniel saw in Nicole's hotel room several weeks ago I wonder? It was still related to clearing Eric's name and he chose to keep quiet about it. His silence contributed to Eric's proposal and their love-making.
When Daniel mentioned playing God, I just rolled my eyes. I thought his little speech about his late wife was a bit cheesy, especially the twinkle he got in his eye when describing how she understood his decision and knew he was right to tell her estranged family. Is Daniel ever wrong? Sigh...
