I love that he would do it for the fans, not for himself.

Interesting. I don't think there's any short term story that would make the Bo and Hope fans happy.

Days just isn't the same without Bo & Hope being together...Wonder if TPTB would ever consider recasting Bo?

I love that he would do it for the fans, not for himself. He is a class act!

Good article. Thanks for posting it @dukeblue.
Peter might be open to it, but would the producers care enough to do something like this?

I have always been a huge Peter Reckell fan and while I understand his reasons for leaving the show, he is the one that decided to leave(if I am not mistaken).
It seems a tad disingenuous to now say the fans deserve better. I agree that any results from a short appearance would probably not do anything to appease Bo/Hope fans. I think in this case, it is better to keep him off canvas and allow Hope & Ciara to move on.
What kind of closure would be provided if he came back anyway? Divorce, asking Hope to wait for him or dying on-screen? Any of these scenarios could just as easily be played out without Bo being in Salem.

This sounds like a game of chicken to me.

I totally agree kathyjThough, I do think he has a point that the fans deserve more. I don't miss Bo/Hope as much as I miss Bo Brady. I have always loved the character of Bo. I can be okay with Hope moving on without him, though.

The fans deserve Hope to become a real character with a real storyline. Bo is gone. She should be able to stand on her own and she is struggling because for decades her whole identity was wrapped up in him. No one should be defined by their man, not even fictional characters. Bo coming back for a short stint won't help unless it brings better writing for Hope after he leaves again.
I am not a fan of either character, but I am a fan of good writing. Guest appearances are pointless if the writing sucks.
