Dorkay: Who are Molly and Dorkay??? Are they kidding? Everyone knows who we are.
Molly: Of course they do, Dick. Everyone knows what a ... um ... humanitarian you are.
Dorkay: Not to mention a hell of a bowler.
Molly: I’m sure they know that too, but just in case there might be some people who don’t know us, can’t we give them just a short little history lesson?
Dorkay: I hate history. I never let history get in the way of a good story.
Molly: I know. That’s part of the problem. Look, why don’t you read your fan mail while I talk to our readers.
Dorkay: Good idea. I won’t be long.

Molly: For readers who are new to kpatch stories and don’t know who Molly and Dorkay are, let me explain.

Molly and Dorkay are characters that kpatch created. They debuted in Daytime Cereal and proved to be so popular that she included them in a number of other stories. While they aren't in every kpatch work, they continue to appear from time to time.

Dick Dorkay represents the executive producer of Days of Our Lives. The name Dorkay is sort of a twisted version of the real executive producer’s name.

Molly represents the actress who plays Melanie. When we first met Melanie Layton, she was feisty and spoke her mind, just like her alter ego Molly does in kpatch’s stories.

Molly is the voice of the viewer and she is the only one who can rein Dorkay in. She is the only one he listens to, at least temporarily, until he goes off half-cocked once again.
