Chapter 1 GIRL'S BUNKROOM 16-year-old Joy Wesley sat on her newly-made bunk in a cabin in the woods. It was here that she was going to spend the next two weeks. She didn't mind summer camp. And she was sure that she would at least know, or know of, some people here. But, she just wasn't enjoying herself yet. Maybe it was because the camp hadn't officially started yet. Maybe it was because not everybody had shown up yet. Perhaps it was because she was completely new to this. Or maybe it was something else. Maybe it was her problem. Looking at Joy, you couldn't tell that she had a problem. She looked like an average 16 year old girl, with brown hair that, in the right light, would turn a dark red color. And as it was summer, it was more red than brown now. But, she did have a problem, at least in her own mind. She liked people, she liked being around people, but she didn't like talking to peoople. When she talked, her problem came out. Joy stuttered. True, it wasn't a big problem. Truthfully, it wasn't even a problem, it was only a problem in her eyes. She was 16 and hated the fact that she stuttred. She only hoped that one day it would stop. The leader of the girls rounded everybody up and told them that it was time to go outside. BOY'S BUNKROOM On the other side of the cabin was the boys bunkroom. All of the boys were getting there stuff together. Some of them were playing around, as they'd already gotten their supplies out. Some were playing around because that's just the type of boys they are. But there was one who had just finished unpacking his things. 12-year-old Johnny DiMera was a very bright young boy. He had short, dark brown hair, and, so far, few to no traces of his father or grandfather in him. When the boys had finished, they were allowed to go into the Common Room. COMMON ROOM The Common Room was a large room in the center of the cabin. The rules on the Common Room were very clear. Both boys and girls could hang out in this area. However, boys were not allowed in the girls room, and girls were not allowed in the boys room. By the time Johnny got out to the Common Room, almost everyone else was there already. From across the room, Johnny saw Joy, who had glanced his direction for a second, and was now string at the wood that the cabin was made of. Johnny found Joy interesting, but was careful not to look for too long. After a moment, the Camp Leader walked in. BRADY: Good afternoon everybody. My name is Brady Black and I will be leading this group for these two weeks. Now, I'm sure you've already met the two leading counselors of your bunk rooms. For the girls there is Chelsea Brady, and for the boys: Max Brady. Now, I'd like you all to find a buddy for the next two weeks. They can be in either the girls or boys group, it doesn't matter. As long as you obey the rule about not going in each other's bunk room. The kids began separating into groups of two. Right from the start, Johnny knew who he wanted to be grouped up with.

Chapter 2 COMMON ROOM Allie, Johnny's twin sister walked up. She looked nothing like Johnny, though. Her hair was very light blonde, the same as their mother's. ALLIE: Find anyone yet? JOHNNY: Nope, not yet. But, I am intent on finding one. And I know just which one to choose. ALLIE: Well, you know, I could be your partner. JOHNNY: I know. But, I'd like to try someone else first. Sorry. ALLIE: Okay. JOHNNY: Sorry. I'm not trying to be rude. ALLIE: It's all right. Don't worry about it. Allie walked away. Johnny took a deep breath and walked over to Joy, who was standing in the corner, having not even made an attempt to find a partner. JOHNNY: Hi. Joy looked over at him. JOY: Hi. JOHNNY: I'm Johnny. Johnny DiMera. Joy looked him over. JOHNNY: What's your name? JOY: J-Joy Wesley. JOHNNY: Joy. That's a nice name. JOY: Th-thanks. JOHNNY: You new here? Joy nodded. JOHNNY: Find a partner yet? Joy shook her head. JOY: No. JOHNNY: I'll be your partner. If you want me to be, that is. JOY: Sure. That'd be f-fine. Johnny and Joy sat down in chairs next to each other. JOHNNY: Wesley? Wesley? Where have I heard that name? Johnny thought for a amoment. JOHNNY: Where are you from? JOY: New York. JOHNNY: I mean originally. JOY: I was born in s-some town called Salem. JOHNNY: No way. You're from Salem? Joy nodded. JOHNNY: I grew up there! JOY: Cool. For a few minutes, they sat in silence. JOHNNY: Are you okay? JOY: Y-year, I'm okay. Sorry if I d-don't talk much. It's just. I have a tendancy to st-st-stutter. JOHNNY: Talk slower. JOY: Wh-what? JOHNNY: Try talking slower. Not that you talk fast or anything, but try talking a little slower. JOY: Okay. I'll try it. Once everyone had gotten into groups, the counselors were passing out packets. There was one packet for each group. The packets were laid on the tables. Johnny and Joy both went to pick up the packet at the same time and thier hands touched.

Good story so far. I like having the cast list at the start so I can visualize who's playing who. I can see Kyle's Brady as the camp counselor.
So Joy is 4 years old than Johnny. I think Johnny will be a good influence on her.
Looking forward to more. Thanks Andre!

Chapter 3 COMMON ROOM JOY: S-sorry. JOHNNY: No, don't be. It was my fault. Joy picked up the packet. After a few minutes, she handed the packet to Johnny. JOHNNY: Looks about right. JOY: Have you been here before? JOHNY: Yeah. Since I was ten. My mom's brought me up here the last two years. She thinks it'll get me away from my father. JOY: You said you're a DiMera, right? I remember that name from somewhere. JOHNNY: It's a big name in Salem. Not for the right reasons, though. You've probably heard of Stefano DiMera. He's my grandfather. E.J. DiMera is my father. JOY: My sister, Chloe's told me about Stefano. JOHNNY: Chloe Lane? Joy nodded. JOHNNY: I should have guessed. I knew you looked familiar. JOY: Yeah. JOHNNY: Just so you know, I'm not anything like my father or grandfather. I'm different. JOY: That's good. CAMPFIRE A little while later, the group was sitting around a campfire, singing songs. After they'd finished singing the last one, Johnny, who was sitting right next to Joy, leaned over and whispered in her ear. JOHNNY (whispering): You have a nice voice. Joy's cheeks turned slightly pink. JOY (whispering): Th-thanks. Brady stood up. BRADY: Okay. Everybody, it's 10 o'clock. You can walk around the camp site if you want, but make sure you're back at the cabin by 10:30. Lights out at 11. JOY (whispering): I'm going for a walk. You wanna come? JOHNNY (whispering): Sure. Joy and Johnny stood up. WOODS The two were walking through the woods. JOY: It happens more when I'm nervous or upset or excited. JOHNNY: What's that? JOY: My stutter. JOHNNY: Oh. JOY: I don't usually like to talk about it. But, I don't know, I just feel comfortable around you. JOHNNY: Okay. You can tell me anything. It'll stay between us. JOY: Thanks. And, thanks for the compliment earlier. About my voice. JOHNNY: You're welcome. It's true. You do have a nice voice. JOY: i guess I kinda got that from Chloe. Must have picked something up from her over the years. JOHNNY: I think part of it is just you. Some people are just naturally good at singing. Joy's cheeks turned pink again. JOHNNY: You ever notice that you stutter less when you're singing? JOY: That's because I'm more confident when I sing than when I talk. Joy looked up. JOY: Look at that. She pointed to the moon. Johnny looked up. JOHNNY: Wow! JOY: It's beautiful. JOHNNY: So are you. Joy turned from pink to red. JOY: You're making me blush. JOHNNY: Sorry. JOY: No, it's okay. I like you, Johnny. JOHNNY: And i like you too, Joy.
