At the Square, Harris and Ava see that The Bistro is “Closed for Renovations,” which they assume is a lie as everyone knows it’s closed because Stefan was arrested.
Ava goes in to find Clyde’s little black book full of narco contacts. Harris stands watch outside.
Inside the Bistro, Ava looks for the book but runs into Stefan. She tells him she’s there to pick up the last of her things. He wonders why she was looking behind the wine bottles. Okay, he caught her. She thought a couple of bottles of good wine was the least this place owed her.
Stefan claims to be doing inventory. He plans to reopen in a couple of weeks. He explains that EJ let him keep the restaurant, and with Clyde gone, he plans to make this the best damn restaurant in the state.
Ava congratulates him for going from CEO to barkeep. “America loves its riches to rags stories.”
Stefan has work to do. Ava reminds him that they ran this restaurant together. Stefan says they also ran drugs out of it together, or has she forgotten that? No, she hasn’t forgotten. Her son was kidnapped and nearly killed. Stefan counters that his wife was beaten in prison and her leg broken, or has she forgotten that?
Ava reminds him that he tried to kill Harris twice, so why is he giving her grief? He should be behind bars. He’s really lucky he has a brother with some pull.
Stefan says the Get Out of Jail Free card came from Harris, and he’s not going to take all the blame for a deal that went sideways. Ava says his attempt at accountability is inspiring.
Stefan gets angry. She should be bowing down and kissing his feet because he took the blame for everything and she was just as guilty. Ava yells back that he’s a saint. Stefan admits he has his regrets, including what happened between them. (He remembers them having sex in Ava’s apartment.)
But he would do it all again to protect his family. Ava agrees. She would to. And there’s something she’s been meaning to tell him. She came here tonight to…(she hesitates). She was feeling nostalgic. They had good times here. Stefan questions if there really were any. But Ava insists there were. She just wanted to see the place one last time.
Stefan wants her keys back. Ava thinks she should keep them. If there’s an emergency and he needs her, she could pitch in. But Stefan wants a clean break, so she gives him the keys. Ava tells him to take care of himself, and she leaves.
Back outside, Ava tells Harris that Stefan is inside. She had to give him her keys. Ava’s about to leave when Stefan comes out. She urges Harris to leave with her, but he wants to talk to Stefan. Ava leaves, telling them to play nice.
Harris wants to know how the hell Stefan is out of jail. The only thing that makes sense is that he and EJ must have cooked something up, or Stefan would still be locked up since he tried to kill Harris and was working for a drug lord.
Harris points out that the judge would never have considered time served without a recommendation from the DA. That’s when Harris realizes that Stefan must have something on EJ. He’s such an arrogant son of a bitch.
Stefan admits that he’s truly sorry for shooting him, and he was relieved that he pulled through. If he could go back, he would change so many things. He swears on his life. On Gabi’s life. Harris doesn’t believe that Clyde hasn’t been in touch with Stefan since his escape. Stefan insists he would have alerted the authorities immediately. He hopes Clyde is dead. He did a lot he’s not proud of, just like Harris and Ava, but he had nothing to do with Clyde escaping prison.
Harris wants to know who did.

The Harris and Stefan interchange was OK but not all that great. Heck the guy tried to kill Harris. That pretty much says the buck stops there.
But it was fitting Harris had to deal with these intrusions (Kate) and Stefan as he was on lookout for Ava.
Ava's journey was brilliant today despite a hiccup or two with Stefan. I am pleased she didn't spill the beans about that "little black book" search. Her feeble excuses as to why she was there seemed a bit transparent, but I am not sure Stefan picked up on it. Ava looked sexy in the sex romp flashback, but it was nothing sex.
How are Harris and Ava going to get into The Bistro without keys? I suspect Harris has a way of breaking in.

Harris is a criminal. I know he doesn't think he is, he sees himself as some sort of white knight, but he is ok with letting Stefan get away with his double murder attempt, and framing somebody else for it, to save a woman who is actually guilty. I can't wait for him to get fired.

Why wouldn't Ava tell Stefan that she's looking for something she lost in the Bistro? She doesn't have to tell him what it is, not his business. But to say that she was feeling sentimental over the restaurant which was a horrid experience was the weakest excuse ever. Ava can do better.

She was getting "sentimental" over the vicious Clyde blackmail cloud that forced her into a corner using The Bistro as the front. Ha. That doesn't jibe. Good times my ass. Equally bizarre was Stefan didn't exactly pick up on her mewling BS.
