In his room, Konstantin looks at a photo of Caterina and swears he will stay in the country and avenge her. He has a flashback of mesmerizing John with the card and goes to get it, discovering it is missing.
Downstairs, a maid (later revealed to be named Ellie) gives Maggie an envelope that just came. Maggie asks her for a cup of tea. The maid goes to the bar across the living room while Maggie opens the envelope and asks if everything is all right. Maggie says it's not.
Konstantin comes storming in and accuses the maid of stealing his card. Maggie tells him not to talk to Ellie like that and that she has been a good and loyal employee for several years. Konstantin apologizes. He says that his daughter used the card as part of her costume for a Greek festival that is similar to Halloween or Mardi Gras the year she died so it is very important to him. Ellie says that she will ask the staff if anyone has seen the card. She goes.
Konstantin apologizes to Maggie. Maggie says she understands and forgives him and is sure Ellie will too. He says Maggie has a way of calming him down. Maggie says he won't be calm after what she has to say now. Konstantin says just tell me. Maggie says she got a letter from the legal team. There is no way to keep Konstantin from being deported.
Konstantin is upset and so is Maggie. They will miss each other.
Konstantin goes to pack. He searches frantically for the card, Maggie comes in and he apologizes for the mess. Maggie says he will not have to leave if he says yes to her proposal. She asks him to marry her.

I did enjoy this jerk going ballistic over his little playing card. The way he went off on the maid should have given Maggie pause. Hell no. Undeterred she digs in her heels even more asking the clown to marry her.
One has to stretch their imagination here as this is yet another Days storyline that is too silly to digest.

If the father of my granddaughter has asked repeatedly that I not have my dubious, Greek Mob associated houseguest around his baby, I would respect that, not assure said gross man that he will have loads of time to cradle and sing to the baby. Xander should put her on supervised visits outside of her own home. Fortunately, I am assuming that the first Mrs Kon is not dead, not divorced, and will be attending the farce of a wedding.
The way he spoke to the maid told everything about his character. Pity Maggie is stupid now

Is it possible Maggie suffered acute PTSD after Victor's death and has lost her sense of balance and self-esteem? It is really hard to explain her behavior. And her willingness to flow with this shady clown. She seems severed from reality from where I stand.
One would think a shrink might be in order. But apparently the only one in town is a first-class disaster known as "Marlena the Great."

Suzanne Rogers apparently HATED this story. She tried everything to play against it with her performance, but she was stuck with the lines

Well that's good to know.
I saw Konstantin is frustrated, and my first thought was "me, too". Frustrated that this story is going on like this, and even so that Maggie was the one who suggested marriage.
This is a fine example of grooming a widow. I wish they could play on that angle a little more.
