Tripp thanks everyone for letting him stay at the apartment. They agree he can stay as long as he wants. Tripp tells them that the hardest part is that he will never meet his mom. Everyone tells him how great Steve is but how could he take the life of someone he once loved? Joey tries to tell him that Ava was trying to destroy Steve's family. Ciara adds that Ava was not sane - she killed her grandfather and kidnapped family. She knows it is confusing for Tripp. Joe wants Tripp to give Steve the benefit of the doubt and take Steve's calls. Tripp will talk to Steve on his own terms. Tripp tells everyone he has to run an errand.
A man introduces himself to Tripp as Ava's cousin, Angelo. Angelo tells Tripp that he looks like his mother did at that age. It is a shame that he did not get to meet her. Tripp has only heard about his mother from people who were not her fans. He wants to learn the truth. Angelo tells Tripp that Ava was a victim. Her father drugged her and Tripp's Pop (Steve) sent her off the deep end. He walked out when she needed him the most. Tripp asks why she went after Steve's family. Angelo tells him it was revenge. She lost Tripp and Steve kept pushing her away. He doesn't buy the ISA story, Steve wanted her out of the way. Angelo warns that Steve can not be trusted.
Angelo hands Tripp a folder which explains his portion of the Vitale fortune. Tripp is astounded by the amount of his inheritance. Angelo tells him that the money is in a trust. Tripp is relieved because he is not the kind of guy who can be trusted with that much money. He would trade it all for a day with his mother. Angelo gives Tripp recordings that Ava made for him. As he leaves, Angelo tells Tripp to call him if he needs anything.

Did you have to be watching in 2008 to know who Angelo is? I read that "Angelo returns" and I can't find any discussion of his storyline before, or when he was last on. All of a sudden the Vitali fortune is a huge plot here? I feel kind of left out and I even feel like the rest of the cast members are being left out of this sudden development. With Tripp's new inheritance is there going to be yet another notorious mob family in Salem? Kiriakis, DiMera, Hernandez, now Vitali. Since we now see that Claire and Ciara know that Joey killed Ava, it can't be very long until the entire town knows. This is not even a Johnson storyline. Why grab into Ava's past and make her the centre of the show? Why now? I just feel blindsided by this development.

I don't remember Angelo, but I do remember Martino Vitali, Ava's father and he was supposed to be a rich mobster. I have to wonder what Tripp will decide to do with his riches, even if he receives it in installments. Hopefully he gets his own place and doesn't slum it with the teens. They will only drag him down.

I smell another evil Vitali as in Tripp. So they just find out that Tripp is alive and there was actually a whole trust setup for a dead grandchild? When did Martino die? Was it just today or yesterday? Because up until now there was no Tripp as far as the family knew. I don't remember Angelo either.

It sounds like Tripp gets this money because he's Ava's only child. I'd think the Vitali's would want to have a DNA test to prove Tripp is Ava's son before giving him a huge trust fund. Unless Martino was tracking Tripp since birth.

It is Epi's like this is why I try and stay spoiler free. Ang came out of Left Field for me, I just didn't see it. I thought he would still be in prison, I guess kidnapping is nothing more than a misdemeanor in Salem.
DooL did an absolutely TURRIBLE job proofing this whole thing. The birth certificate should have said Nick Stockton, not Steve Johnson. Angelo kept calling him Steve, but the whole Vitali clan called him Patch. Marty got capped-out years ago (Joe Penny was great as Marty) and Tripp was declared dead over a year ago and he he gets a FAT inheritance. The Big Greek said that the Vitali's were out of his league, that should give everyone an idea of what kind of Jack we are talking about. I could go on!
Sorry for the rant!
Well.....There You Have It!
