BRADY PUB
NICHOLAS: Look, Cassie, I screwed up. I know that. I should have at least let you know that I was okay but needed space when I left, and it shouldn’t have taken me a month to let you know that I’m back.
CASSIE: Damn right it shouldn’t!
NICHOLAS: But I am back now, and I know what my plan going forward is.
CASSIE: Good for you!
NICHOLAS: What I’m saying is, don’t make this bigger than it has to be.
CASSIE: I’m sorry, you’re the one that disappeared, then came back and just forgot to tell your fiance that you were back for a month! That is a big deal, Nicholas! Sorry, let me correct myself, ex-fiance.
NICHOLAS: Cassie, you don’t want to do this. You don’t want to throw away what we have just because you’re a little upset.
CASSIE: A little upset?! I am not a little upset, Nicholas! I am confused, I’m furious! I loved you!
NICHOLAS: And I love you. We can still be together.
CASSIE: I don’t think we can! Because the fact that you’ve been back for a month and I’m just now finding out about it tells me that we are not a priority for you! Now, I don’t expect you to let me know the second you got back or anything, but a month?!
NICHOLAS: Of course you’re a priority!
CASSIE: You could’ve fooled me! But you know who is a priority for you? Vivian. However mad you are, however much you hate what she did, you still moved back into the Mansion with her. This just confirms what people have been trying to tell me since you got together, no matter what she does, Vivian will always be your first priority, followed closely by the business.
NICHOLAS: She’s my aunt. She’s like a mother to me.
CASSIE: She tried to kill me! But, hey, fair enough. She’s your family, I’m just a woman you used to be engaged to.
NICHOLAS: Don’t be like that.
CASSIE: Like what? Do you not know who you’re dealing with? I am not the confused woman who didn’t know who she was that you met all those years ago. I am Cassie Brady, the daughter of Kate Roberts. I will be fine. So here.
She took her ring off and put it in his hand, then closed his hand around it.
CASSIE: Take this ring that I’m sure cost you quite a lot of money, and give it to someone who won’t mind her fiance’s aunt trying to kill her every few months. Just do me a favor, since you were content to go all this time without speaking to me, let’s keep it that way. I don’t want to see you again. We are done, Nicholas Alamain!
Cassie turned.
NICHOLAS: Cassie. Cassie, come back!
He watched as Cassie stormed back inside the Pub, then looked down at the engagement ring that had just been returned to him.
Inside, Rex and Noelle saw Cassie storm in and go into the back room which led to the stairs.
NOELLE: That doesn’t seem good.
REX: It’s not.
Noelle looked slightly confused.
REX: Mine and Cassie’s psychic connection. We can always tell when the other is upset.
NOELLE: Right, right. Well, thank you for brunch. I need to get to work.
REX: You’re welcome. I’ll see you and your mom tonight, then.
NOELLE: Sounds like a plan. I hope Cassie’s okay.
REX: She will be. I’ll give her a minute or two then check on her. Have a good day at work.
NOELLE: Thanks.
Rex and Noelle kissed, then Noelle picked up her things and left. Rex waited a moment before going upstairs and knocking on Cassie’s door.
REX: Cass, it’s me.
A moment later, the door opened and Cassie threw her arms around Rex.
DIMERA MANSION
ANDRE: And that is where the difficulty comes in. By the time Kristen finished shouting, your brother was too far gone. Rolf currently has his body on ice, but has been unable to make much, if any, progress as yet. Much like Stefano, it seems your brother is gone for good.
Rudolfo clenched his fists.
RUDOLFO: So where is she now? Why is Aunt Kristen still allowed to walk freely? Why isn’t she in a coffin like Octavius?
ANDRE: I have bigger plans for her, at the moment. Be assured, my boy, I am not at all happy that she has remained here. For now, we must be content that she is on her best behaviour. Kristen is well aware that if she steps out of line at all, it shall be the end for her, and if there is one thing Kristen cares about, it is saving her own skin.
RUDOLFO: She’d better hope I don’t run into her alone, then.
MEGAN: It seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
André chuckled darkly and patted Rudolfo’s shoulder.
ANDRE: We shall avenge your brother, dear Rudolfo. Right now, it’s all about waiting for the right moment.
Later that day, E.J. came home from work. He flipped through the mail, which had been left on the entryway table. Most of it was either garbage or for other members of the family, but there was one envelope that caught his eye. It was addressed to Tony and Anna, but it was the return address that had piqued E.J.’s interest. It was from the Brady Pub.
E.J. (thinking): What would the Bradys want with Tony and Anna?
Looking to make sure he was alone, E.J. opened the envelope and read the letter within. It was an invitation to a christening, which was to be held at St. Luke’s in just under a week, sent from Chelsea and Max. E.J. blinked furiously and furrowed his brow.
E.J.: She lied to me.
He pulled out his phone and sent a text.
E.J.: I need to see you ASAP. Come after school.
He tapped the phone against the palm of his hand and stared at the invitation.
