Chapter 677
MARRIOTT HOTEL - LINCOLNSHIRE, ILLINOIS
Kinsey walked down the hallway, partly looking for the room she was supposed to find, and partly admiring the decorations. Finally, she came to a door and knocked on it. After a moment, Chloe opened it.
KINSEY: Hey!
CHLOE: Hey! Come on, in!
Chloe and Kinsey hugged as Kinsey went into Chloe’s hotel room.
KINSEY: Gotta say, this is one fancy place.
CHLOE: Well, you can thank my agent. She’s the one that booked it for me.
KINSEY: Sweet. Anyway, I am so glad to see you!
CHLOE: I’m glad to see you, too. How are you?
KINSEY: I’m okay. Getting some modelling gigs here and there, and looking for a part time job for when there’s a dry spell. What about you? How’s the singing career?
CHLOE: Pretty great. It’s so much fun!
KINSEY: I can imagine!
CHLOE: Yeah. So, when you called a few days ago, it sounded kind of urgent. Is everything okay?
KINSEY; Yeah, I guess.
CHLOE: Kins, it’s me. Talk to me. What’s going on?
Kinsey sat down on the bed.
KINSEY: It’s not a huge deal, I’m just being my usual boy crazy self. Except, I think I may have totally embarrassed myself, and I was wondering if you could give me advice.
Chloe sat down next to Kinsey.
CHLOE: I’m sure it’s not that bad. What happened?
DIMERA MANSION
ABBY: Your guess is as good as mine, I’ve got nothing.
CHAD: Yeah, me either. You look at any more of this book?
ABBY: Nope. I just saw this picture on the inside front cover and was so interested in it. I mean, I know there was a brief time where Uncle Steve had a glass eye, but he thought it would take away from his “cool dude” look, so he went back to wearing an eyepatch.
CHAD: Could be from then, then.
ABBY: Except the picture looks old, too old to be from then.
Abby sighed.
ABBY: Then again, I don’t know exactly when the picture was taken, or exactly when Uncle Steve wore a fake eye.
She closed the book.
ABBY: Anyway, we’ll dig into this mystery later. How was your day?
CHAD: It was good, mostly. Spent most of the morning with Tony working on business.
ABBY: Well, that’s good. But, why do you say mostly?
Chad sighed and sat down on the couch next to Abby.
CHAD: There’s something I need to tell you. Just after lunch, Will called me and asked to meet up, said it was important. Tony had a handle on things, so I did.
ABBY: What happened with Will?
CHAD: He told me that an old...acquaintance of ours was back.
ABBY: Really? Who?
CHAD: Mia.
ABBY: Oh, Mia. Wait...Mia? As in...THAT Mia?
CHAD: Yep, that’s the one. Mia McCormick.
ABBY: Why is Mia back? What does she want?
CHAD: Well, according to Will, she wants what Mia always wants, to have her cake and eat it, too. Meaning, she’s come back in the hopes of trying to come between me and Will...and you and me.
