With him leaving, they really have NO reason to ever bring Philip back  It would be nice if that meant his vacancy would be filled by a Philip return, but more likely it will mean a step up by Justin (which isn't so bad either). I also wonder how this will affect Brady. If Victor leaves, I think it will be even MORE reason to bring Philip back. Philip is the heir apparent and should be next in line to run Titan. Brady is a mess right now, so it would be perfect timing for Philip (whether played by Jay Johnson or another actor but obviously preferably Jay) to become more Victor-like and become head of the Kiriakis family and business. I wonder who they will get to play Philip? Whoever it is, won't be as good of a Philip as Jay, but hopefully he will be better then Kyle Brandt. I wish Jay would come back, but I just don't see it since he has left twice before. Days would def have to offer Jay something he couldn't refuse & I don't see that happening |

I can tell you right now why Jay left & why he wont come back. Days wont let them pursue primetime as well as work on the show. Its either or & that is why Jay left so he could pursue primetime full time & not be held back by Days & thats why he wont come back. Dont hold out hope that he will come back bc he wont

I can tell you right now why Jay left & why he wont come back. Days wont let them pursue primetime as well as work on the show. Its either or & that is why Jay left so he could pursue primetime full time & not be held back by Days & thats why he wont come back. Dont hold out hope that he will come back bc he wont They should be more like GH. They have a large number of actors on recurring status so they can do just that...also for budgetary reasons they can use characters as needed and not have them clogging up the cash flow when they are not. |

Well, maybe they've changed. Allison Sweeny does the Biggest Loser and has for several years now. I don't know why they can't let the other actors work on side projects as well. I would miss Victor if he left but I don't want another actor to play him. It sounds like JA wants Victor to go out with a bang and if that what he wants for the character then I'd kind of like him to have it. It would be kind of cool if Phillip returned after his father's death or if he was sick, to take over the Kiriakis empire, especially if Victor died at the hands of the DiMeras and he was out for revenge. I love Jay Kenneth Johnson but I'd accept another actor if it was the right one. I would really like to see the character of Phillip return and have a great story. Victor's exit would be the perfect time. They let Alison do whatever she wants |

Y&R is the same way Days is. That is why Billy Miller left. Y&R wouldn't let him do anything else except Y&R. I think Days & Y&R don't want to lose great talent to prime time, but by not letting them do both, they lose great actors to prime time. I wish anything that Billy Miller hadn't left Y&R. David Tom, the original Billy, took back over the role of Billy Abbott. This is probably the one and only time that I like a replacement better then the original. I wish Jay would come back to Days, but I don't think he will. Alot of them have great side jobs that support them while they audition and try to break into prime time. |

I wouldn't mind Billy Miller as Philip on Days, but I definitely prefer Jay  Jay could very well come back to Days if the offer was right, but I know he really wants to see if he can get into prime time |

Dont hold out hope that he will come back bc he wont I disagree that the reason Jay wouldn't come back to Days is because they won't let him pursue prime time. He's been gone from Days for nearly three years -- plenty of time to pursue prime time or film if that's what he wants to do, and he's done very little acting during this period. In my opinion there is no reason for him not to come back to a well-paying, steady job like a soap and hopefully DAYS if they give him a meaty storyline on an ongoing basis. I am holding out hope for a return. |

I don't think all actors want to work multiple jobs at once. A lot of actors who have families like the schedule of working in daytime.

I pray that TPTB will write a good storyline for Philip & Jay will come back to Days!! That would be just awesome For me, he is the ONLY Philip!!!!!! |

As for a Philip re-cast if they cannot get Jay Kenneth Johnson back as Philip, then why not re-cast the role of Philip and have Billy Miller take over the role of Philip Kiriakis? Billy Miller was on Y & R as Billy Abbott so why not have him play Philip Kiriakis

I like Billy Miller too but didn't he leave Y&R to do more prime time and other projects? Soap opera actors do run the danger of being type cast -- but I can accept them in other roles. If I see John Aniston in another show I have a second of "Victor" but then I get caught up in the new character he is portraying.

But Billy Miller he would definitely make a great Philip re-cast or even Josh Kelly would make a great Philip re-cast, Josh Kelly played Cutter Wentworth on One Life to Live now he would be a great Philip re-cast especially if JKJ were not to come back as Philip

A definite character that should be brought back well 4 characters that I feel that should definitely come back are Shawn-Douglas, Belle, Mimi, and Chloe and with Shawn-D & Belle back in town they can bring back their daughter Claire with them and Claire she would be SORASed to be like the same age as Ciara or at least she would be a year older than Ciara but still with Belle back she can help straighten that loser of a brother of hers that being Brady and Belle she can be here for her sister Sami as well as her other brother Eric but with Shawn he can be here for his sister Ciara and his mother Hope but also with Shawn you could have him join the Salem PD and follow in his parents' footsteps by becoming a cop
Whereas with Belle you could have her work at either Mad World or at Countess or Belle she could work at Salem U Hospital as a nurse
With Mimi back in town, Mimi she could be a love interest for either Brady, Rafe, or even EJ or even Lucas for that matter but as for her she can work either at Mad World, Countess or even work at Sonny's coffee shop
Whereas with Chloe if you bring her back you could have her back as a love interest for either Daniel, Rafe, EJ or even Brady
