This story partly inspired by a song from Death Cab for Cutie named What Sarah Said. I'll post the lyrics. I'm going to post Chapter 1 most likey tomorrow,and update it every Saturday depending on whether or not it's an epic fail. If you don't like it tell me.

Shattered Dreams
Chapter One:

(Abby)
    Abby was in mind numbing shock. Her mouth was in the shape of an O, her hands were trembling and her eyes were unable to look away from the plastic strip that she was holding. She was pregnant! Oh god, she was pregnant. She felt like you do when you’re five, and you’re riding your bike without the training wheels for the first time, and that moment when your parent lets go, that freedom! Then you run into a bush, scraping your knee.

    She wasn’t worried about how Chad would take the news, because she knew how much he wanted to be a dad. She was worried about Jennifer’s reaction. Abby was too lost in her own world that she didn’t realize JJ walking in, “Hey Abs” Noticing she’s a little off, he jumps behind her screaming in a high pitched voice .“I’M MELTING!!! MELTING, OH POOR OLD ME!!!” That brings Abby back and JJ starts pounding the floor while laughing himself silly as she tries to smack him, “Oh my god, you freaking jerk!” JJ sees her test laying on the ground from when she jumped up. “Holy hell, you’re pregnant, Abby tries to grab the test back, and she slowly nods. “I’m at least 3 weeks.” JJ’s smile slowly appears, “Mom is going to kill you, is it Chad’s?” Abby nods, “Yeah” “is what Chad’s?” Jennifer walks in.

    JJ says looking at Abby, “I’ll pray for you” and sticks his tongue out at her. “You’re a p***k you know that right?” “Then I’m doing my ‘annoy the living daylights out of you’ job, see ya!” Jennifer looks at Abby asking “What is going on?” Abby took a deep breath, “ You need to sit down. Mom, something happened…” “what did Chad hurt you because I swear to God-” “ Mom, stop, he hasn’t done anything, I’m pregnant!. Jennifer starts choking. Small note to self *Don’t tell your mother she’s turning into a grandmother when she’s drinking tea, because you’ll end up wearing it.

(Chad and EJ, same time)

    EJ was sitting next to Chad in the hospital. Both were gutted by the news, Dr. Brentson just gave them not even five minutes ago. “You know I’m going to make you move back in the mansion, right?” Ej asked. Chad slowly nodded. Ej grabs his hand and squeezes it tight “Hey we’re not giving up, can I call Abigail?” Chad closed his eyes to hide the tears threatening to surface , “Thanks, but I need to tell her.” Chad just found out he had leukemia and that it’s aggressive and he wasn’t sure how to handle it.

After being released, Chad had Ej drop him off at Abby’s house after he got a text from her saying she needs to see him. Abby answered, “Oh good you’re here!” She pulls him in for a kiss. “I’m going to take you somewhere” After blindfolding him, she takes him to the lake for a picnic. “So, we need to talk.” Abby said very quietly, Chad nodded, “Yeah, we do” “What do you mean?” He shook his head, “You first.” Abby took a drink, and said. “I’m about 3 weeks pregnant” the second Abby said that, Chad broke down in tears, “No!” Abby took it the wrong way and starts to leave. He finally told her about his diagnosis. She starts to say something but instead she leaves. Chad was a complete wreck when he called Ej to pick him up. When Ej got there, he asked Sami to say in the car.  He slowly walked over to Chad, who was sniveling "Hey. Let's go home." "Ej she told me she's pregnant." he said tearfully.

When Ej took Sami and Chad home, he told Sami that he would be back, he had to go talk to someone.  "Ej,don't make it worse." He shook his head, " I just need to talk to her."

Thank you! It's going to be a very emotional story, I wanted to think outside the box, it's working so far!

The way it's going now you might just have to wait until late Thursday. I write it on paper first, and I got a three page limit, I'm almost done with the first page so who knows?!

This chapter is disappointing, for the next one, I'm going to speed the story up a little.

Chapter Two:

(Kristen/Chad)

Kristen held Chad's hand for a while after Ej left and she just listened to him, every now and then they both would let some tears fall. She knew he had to be thinking about how Mia never told him about Grace, and this time he knew Abby’s having a baby, but he was scared senseless that either he wouldn’t get to meet this child, or Abby would kept him from it.

Kristen was thinking of ways to get his mind off his problems . “Come on, we’re going to go cook. You’re depressed, and now I’m depressed, so we are going to start making pretzels. Get up, up, up!” She smiled as she saw him laugh. Well needless to say Chad and Kristen’s pretzels were baking and mayhem followed when Chad splattered Kristen with flour.. After the powder finally cleared up, Kristen and Chad were on the ground, laughing at each other. Neither had a care in the world.

After cleaning the kitchen, they sat at the island. “Thanks for letting me vent.” Kristen laughed, “If that’s you venting, I can’t wait to see you hold back. Besides that’s what I’m here for.”

(Abby/EJ/)

The world was frozen in chaos, she couldn’t think straight, after what happened at the lake, she was so ashamed. She knew she couldn’t fix any of it, and that was frightening to her. She didn’t go home, she went to the coffee house and stayed there .

Sonny could tell she was beating herself up, he waved his hand in front of her face, “What’s going on?” “I’m the worst human being ever.” “Oh no, Hitler takes the cake, just saying. What’d you do?” “I’m pregnant.” Sonny frowned, “Not seeing the problem.” “The problem is everything is screwed up now.” “Are you sure about that?”

Abby turned around to see Ej ,standing there. “E” “Just let me talk, I promise I’m not going to tear into you right now.” “Right now?” Abby said catching that part. “Of course, not. You’re carrying my niece or nephew, I’ll just save what I’m thinking until she or he’s born.” Sonny had to go deal with customers.

“Can I ask what happened at the lake?” “What, Chad didn’t tell you?” “No, He told me, even though he was completely distraught, I was wanting to hear your side.” “Why aren’t you angry at me?” “I am, about an hour ago I was furious.” Ej asked again. “Please tell me what happened.” “I don’t want to lose him.” “Do you think I want to lose him? Abigail, you walked out on him. " . "I’m really sorry.” “I’m not the person you should be apologizing to.” “Ej I can’t fix this, I mean…”

“Ok look, I get you feeling like crap over this, and I also believe my brother deserves better than you, that doesn’t matter though. Because he loves YOU, he’s given his heart to YOU. If you really do feel bad about it, then you’ll figure out a way to fix it. You can figure it out”

“Can I ask you a question?” “Of course.” “How sick is he?” Ej sighs heavy, “It’s not looking good, but he’s starting treatment tomorrow, so they can’t be sure. Hey look I have to go, just try to fix things.” Ej left.

Abby finally figured it out. She walked in the bathroom and locked the door, and cried.

Update #1

Chapter 3:
(Sonny and Will)

Sonny was pacing his apartment, for once he was nervous. Then he heard a knock on his door. "Abigail, thank god!" "So on the phone you said you needed.my help. What's going on?" "I'm proposing to Will and I need to make this place nice looking!" "Are you going to cook or am I?"

Remembering that Abigail isn't the best cook, Sonny replied, "I'll cook, I've got candles, and things in that bag on the table.Hey Abs, what happened with you and Ej yesterday?" Abby flashed back to their conversation, "It doesn't matter, I messed up and I can't fix it." Sonny smiled while some heating chicken "If you really believe that, then yeah your relationship is screwed." Abby started setting the mood. She blurted out "I'm pregnant." "Oh sweet Jesus Abby, did you cheat on Chad?" "No, god Sonny!" "I had to ask."

After having the entire living room decorated and helping set up dinner, Abby asked to see Will's ring. It was a very simple gold band with "You're suck with me now" inscribed in it. "I'm happy for you,Sonny! I"ll talk to you later."

Sonny thanks her. He had everything planned out. Will finally got home, and Sonny enjoyed seeing the "What in the world" on Sonny's face. "Sonny, what's going on?!" The nerves started hitting again, "Will listen, I feel like I'm going to throw up because I'm so nervous. I want you to be my husband, and if we can't get married here, screw it we can find somewhere." All of it came out jumbled, because he said it so fast.  "Ok what? Breathe, this time!" Will said clearly confused.

"Marry me! For the love of God please, marry me!" Sonny just burst out. Will slowly smiled. "Well when you put it that way.  I can't wait!" Sonny gave Will his ring and  Will lauhed at the writing. Everything just felt right.
