Chapter 23 SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Nicole walked into Father Matt's room. He was asleep. NICOLE: Father Matt, I'm here to...oh, sorry. You're sleeping. Nicole sat down in a nearby chair. A few minutes later, Eric walked in. ERIC: Father... NICOLE: He's asleep. ERIC: Oh, okay. I'm glad you're here, Nicole. I've been wanting yo talk to you for a while, but you never answer my calls. NICOLE: We have nothing to say to each other. ERIC: I have a few things to say to you. NICOLE: Yeah? Well, I have nothing to say to you. ERIC: Okay. Mind if I sit down? NICOLE: It's a free country. Eric sat down. However, a few minutes later, his phone rang. he got up and left the room. Father Matt coughed. NICOLE: Father Matt? Nicole stood up. Slowly, Father Matt opened his eyes. NICOLE: Hi, Father Matt. Father Matt pointed at her. MATT: You. It was you. NICOLE: What? MATT: Why are you here? NICOLE: I'm here to see you. When I heard about the accident, I had to see you. MATT: Why are you doing this? These are good people. NICOLE: Father Matt, it's me. It's Nicole, MATT: I'm not talking to you, Nicole. I'm talking to him. Nicole looked behind her. There was no one there. MATT: Why are you causing all of these attacks? NICOLE: What are you talking... Suddenly, Nicole felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She doubled over for a moment. When she stood up, her eyes were completely black. NICOLE (distorted voice): Ah, now that's much better. It took me longer to get the voice down than it did all those years ago, Father Matt looked at Nicole with a mixture of shock and horror. NICOLE (distorted voice): What's the matter, priest? You look like you've seen a ghost. Nicole let out an evil cackle in her newly distorted voice. |

Just an announcement to everybody, I will be doing chapters of this story for this week. However, starting the 15th, the story shall be on hiatus. This is because I have a new Christmas story to bring to you all. More on that to come later. And now... Next Week... Nicole goes over her last few weeks in her mind. DEVIL: I can give you power. From this point forward, Nicole shall be referred to one of three different ways: Nicole - when the Devil gives her control NicDevil - when the Devil is in control Nicole (as *insert name here*) - when the Devil morphs Nicole into someone or something else. Chapter 24 SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL It was now clear to Father Matt that he was talking to the Devil, and not Nicole. NICDEVIL: What's wrong, priest? You look like you've seen a ghost. NicDevil laughed evilly. MATT: Only an evil spirit from the dawn of time. NICDEVIL: So glad to hear you recognize me. MATT: Why her, Satan? Why Nicole? Hasn't she been through enough already? NICDEVIL: It's exactly because of what she's been through that I chose her in the first place. MATT: What do you mean? NICDEVIL: Look at me. MATT: I am. NICDEVIL: Look into my eyes, priest. MATT: Never. NicDevil snapped her fingers and Father Matt's head jerked up so he was looking in her eyes. MATT: How did you do that? NICDEVIL: I've been learning new powers for a while now. And that's not all I can do. But, I'm not here to show you magic tricks. Just sit back and watch, priest. NICOLE'S APARTMENT - FLASHBACK
It was a day or two after Brady's last visit with Nicole. The day Nicole wiped herself of all emotion. Or, so she thought. For the next day or two, Nicole sat in her apartment, staring T nothing. Then, one day, he arrived.
DEVIL (VO): I can help you.
Nicole looked around. She heard the voice but didn't see anything.
DEVIL (VO): I can help you.
NICOLE: Who's there?
DEVIL (VO): Oh, just a friend. I've seen what you're going through. That intolerant priest, Eric. That idiotic Brady. Everything in your life. And I can help you. I can make you come out on top of them.
Nicole thought for a moment.
NICOLE: How?
DEVIL (VO): It's easy, really. Just, let me in.
Nicole stood up, soon, her eyes changed color. They went from their normal color to jet black. She had become NicDevil.SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL NICDEVIL: But, that's not all I did, priest. There's much more. NicDevil laughs. |

Chapter 25 ST. LUKE'S - FLASHBACK
NicDevil, wearing all black and a ski mask, walked into St. Luke's. She, very violently, began destroying all of the candles. She had a spray paint can in her pocket. After crushing what she thought a a satisfactory number of candles, she took out the can of spray paint was was graffitiing the altar. Then, she heard Father Matt's voice. She put the can in her pocket and quickly ran away.
OUTSIDE ST. LUKE'S - FLASHBACK
NicDevil, again in costume, was setting up a fire display. So far, the fire hadn't been lit yer. She just had a number of fire bars set up in a particular shape. The shape of an inverted pentagram. After putting the final touches on it, NicDevil took out a lighter. She lit the five points on the star. The fire quickly spread across the bars, until the whole the whole of the inverted star was ablaze. NicDevil laughed.SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL NICDEVIL: Of course, I would go over my latest achievement, but you already know. You were there for that. MATT: What I don't understand is why. NicDevil rolled her eyes. NICDEVIL: It's always the same questions with you people. Why are you here? What do you want? NicDevil transformed into Eric. NICOLE (as Eric): Why are you doing this? Just then, the real Eric walked up. ERIC: What the...Who are you? Nicole (as Eric) turned to look into the eyes of the real Eric. He put out a hand. NICOLE (as Eric): Sleep. Eric felt his eyelids get heavy. Then, he fell asleep. NicDevil transformed back to her normal self. NICDEVIL: I'm doing it for the same reason I always do things: because I can. Because I need more followers. And I know how I can get them. MATT: You won't get away with it, Satan! NicDevil laughed. NICDEVIL: Oh, priest, I already have. I may just have Nicole now, but soon, I'll have everybody in Salem. MATT: Never! You'll never have me! Or Eric. NICDEVIL: Funny you mention the fallen priest. You see, he's my next target. |
