My mom said that she watched the Today show this morning and the guy that is supposed to play Christian backed out so they asked for everyone to tweet who should play Christian and my mom said that EJ was the second guy that has the most votes. I wonder if James Scott would ever consider that role if he was approached with it?

Strange. Who was the first one I wonder. I did see that the other guy backed out.

James Scott came to mind for me when I read the books. I think he'd be great in the role.

I don't know. My mom couldn't remember the first guy, but I have heard for a while that alot of the girls wanted James Scott or Justin Hartley for the part of Christian. I have never read the books and don't plan to, but I wonder if James would ever be considered for the part of Christian?

I don't see why he wouldn't consider the role. I don't know what James Scott has done other than DAYS but most actors want to spread their wings. His agent should be getting in touch with the 50 Shades producer at this point.

It may depend on his contract and/or how long he'd be gone from Days.

His agent should be getting in touch with the 50 Shades producer at this point. Obviously it would make him very famous but this movie brings new meaning to the word exposure. I only read like half the book and it's VERY explicit. I imagine the movie will be at least NC-17 rated, maybe they can get it to an R but anyway, there are a lot of people that might have trouble with shooting scenes like that. I know a lot of guys are not as modest as women but some actors might feel it's not the kind of thing they want to be known for.

Ohhhh, well, I hadn't thought about that angle because I didn't read the book.

I don't know how they will be able to film the movie and be very true to the books. They will have to tame it down a lot for the movie especially the BDSM stuff. FYI the second and third books have a lot of actual story to them. The focus isn't on the sex so much.

I just have no idea how they are going to keep the movie to a R or even NC-17 rating. Whoever they get to do the part has to be ok with nudity and sex and a lot of it.

They may end up with a fairly unknown actor. I wonder if they are going to try and cover more than the first book or possibly have a sequel as the story is much more interesting as you get farther into the books.

No well known actor is going to touch this career-killing role with a ten foot pole. We should be praying that they DON'T cast James. Realistically, I doubt he'll have time with the hectic schedule Days demands, but also, I doubt the producers would take a chance on a (relatively) unknown soap actor. They're going to want to try to get a respected actor to "class" up the joint, but I just don't see that happening.
Sorry to poop on anyone's enjoyment of the trilogy, but I think the books are garbage. Not because of the sex scenes, but because of how lousy it was written. E.L. James is a terrible writer and I hope this movie dies a slow death and gets lost in turnaround.
But if you enjoyed it, good for you. *No sarcasm, total sincerity*

I will never ever read the books and I think they will have a hard time casting that role bc like you said, what well respected actor is going to want to be cast in this movie. I pray too that James doesn't take the role. Just from what I know about James, he doesn't seem like the type that would want to take on a role like that.
