I thought about getting a tattoo after Annabelle was born, but I never decided on anything. I think I could have withstood the pain and gotten over the idea of needles then. Now, I don't think I could handle it. I've turned back into a wuss.

I have an idea for my family tattoo, just have to have it drawn up. I want a lily surrounded by 2 big stars, 2 medium, stars, and 2 small stars. The big stars represent hubby and I, the middle two represent Katie and Liam, and the 2 small ones are for the 2 babies I lost. I think that will end up going on my shoulder.

Love the tattoos! I don't have any mostly because I know how indecisive I am LOL! Afraid I will like something one day and then dislike it the next. Also a bit queasy when it comes to needles and such. I did have a question though. Seeing as how tattoos are permanent for the most part(removal is a long tedious process no?), how old would you suggest someone be before deciding on a tattoo? How old were you when you got your first tattoo?

@dukeblue I got my first one at age 27. My little sister was 18 when she got her first (which I think is too young). I would not recommend getting one under the age of 21. I think you should be 100% committed to what you want before you do something permanent to your body. But, that's just my opinion.

Glad to know that I am not the only one that feels this way regarding the issue of age. My step-daughter's bio-mom took her to a tattoo parlour at the age of 15 and they both got 6 inch long matching tattoos on their forearms! Since then my step-daughter has gotten two more huge tattoos on her neck and front of her thigh and she is only 17. Very displeased with her mother's judgement on this. I feel she was/is too young to make that decision.

@dukeblue Wow. That is way too young in my opinion. Also, I would never get my neck or face tattooed.
Mine are all easily covered by clothing, just in case I have to be "presentable."
Thank God my employer doesn't care about tattoos, as a lot of us that work there have them. We don't interact much with the public in person, so that might have something to do with it.
But, to let your child be tattooed at 15 is just all sorts of wrong to me.

I was just shy of my 31st birthday when I got my first one. My sister-in-law was quite young when she got her first one and has quite the collection of tattoos now. Her latest is Itchy (or is it Scratchy) from the Simpsons cartoon. I guess it goes well with her My Little Pony tattoos. She does have some really beautiful work done on her shoulders though. I am not sure she will love the cartoon tattoos later in life, but that is her decision.

I don't have one right now but I'm going to get one. I don't have any money right now to get one but even if I did I wouldn't get one having chemo because you could be at risk of getting an infection and I will get one when I get money and after my chemo and surgrey is done.
I will ask my doctors how long you are supposed to wait after chemo and surgrey to get a tattoo. So it will be a while before I get one.
I got many ideas of what I want to get. Trying to decide what to get is going to be hard and also where to get it at. I think I'm going to get it on my foot or ankle.
