I missed them! Anyone watch?
Was it a good show? Any surprises?
Did Mad Men win anything?

I watched most of them and I thought they were pretty good. I'm not normally a big award show person but I was over at my mom's and they started and were pretty good so we kept watching. I do agree with some of the stuff I've read that the memorials were strange.
I don't recall Mad Men winning anything. There is just really stiff competition right now. Breaking Bad won best drama. I don't watch it but I know a lot of people do and say it is excellent. I guess a big surprise was that Brian Cranston didn't win best actor and of all the people that could have won, Jeff Daniels would have been my last pick. I will say, his speech was funny.
A happy surprise to me was that the Colbert Show won best variety/musical show FINALLY over the Daily Show. I like both those shows but I LOVE the Colbert Report and I think Stephen Colbert is so funny and talented. He really deserved it. I was also happy Claire Danes won for best actress in Homeland since that is another favorite of mine.

I watched the whole show and was bored to tears. The whole night felt like one giant downer. IMO, the winners were predictable (except for a precious few exceptions) and the music bits were weird. The dance part was FANTASTIC but I'm terribly biased when it comes to that. All in all, I'd say you didn't miss anything and you probably ended up watching something more entertaining anyway.

I'm glad Jim Parsons won for best comedy actor. It gets boring though when the same shows and actors win year after year. I didn't watch it this year.
