Ouch...!!!!! I just hope Jack isn't such a silly buffoon this time around....he's getting way to old to pull that off....of course, I didn't think he pulled it off well when he was younger.......I'm keeping my fingers crossed.......

@kazz, but see...that's the thing. Jack has a history of doing things to Jenn/Abby (and Jack Jr. presumably) to make his whole departure from the family plausible. I mean, I certainly can accept it. May not like it, but can totally accept it as typical Jack.
I think that this issue should be addressed (about Jack's inconsistency). I thought it was a joke when Jenn said yesterday that he was reliable. He has never really been reliable for Jenn when the going gets tough.

@treydawgg, I don't share that point of view on Jack. I don't see this current assumption Jenn and Abby are making of Jack as plausible for him or them. It just feels like more sacrificing of character natures for the sake of convenient plot points to me. But I certainly understand that we all see characters differently. I'm just glad to finally have another character in town that I actually know and like and hope the writing doesn't make me regret the return like it has done so far for Jenn and Abby (though it's hard to tell if that is more to blame on the recast or the writing) and too many others. Yet I can't help wishing good things for and from this show so for now I'm just going to be happy and hopeful, cautiously hopeful.

@kazz, I can see that. I didn't really feel that way about Jack until the last time they brought him back to Salem (where he faked his death and pushed her towards Frankie). I get his motivation, but at the time it made me realize that Jack always pushes Jennifer away. From the beginning of their relationship (when he didn't feel good enough for her for what he did to Kayla) to when he found out he was dying (the first time), to when he found out about Abby having aplastic anemia, when they went off to Africa together, when he faked his death to get her to move on with Frankie...
IDK, they've had a rocky history. The last time just ruined it for me.

^^ I think that's why I find it so crazy that Jennifer jumps to the conclusion that Jack has just "abandoned" her or doesn't care about his family. Any time in the past when he was absent was because of something like being "dead" or dying or captured, etc. It seems to me if I had ever lived in Salem and experienced any of these events with just one family member just one time, I would forever be suspecting that any absence means they've been kidnapped and any odd behavior means they've been cloned and replaced... apparently Jennifer and Sami both have terrible memories.

Ha, very true. But I thought (and I could very much be mistaken) that Jack and Jenn weren't getting along before he decided to split (as in he told her he's going on his walk a bout, not that he just up and left).
But, yeah, I totally see your point.

And the heavens opened and the angels began to sing!!!
Now...if they'd only bring back Lucas, too, I'd be a happy girl! (OK--and Philip, too, but I'm trying not to be selfish!)

Someone on twitter speculated that the banged up guy in the background (photo from Lauren/Kate from a while back) was actually Jack. I don't think Matt was on set then, but it's plausible he came in for a couple of days and they kept it a secret. Maybe? Personally, I still think it's going to turn out to be EJ and I'm so depressed that they pounded (even fake pounded) on his lovely face.
