I guess pretty much everyone has a Facebook account by now but I was reading an article online about other popular sites that I'm less familiar with (probably because I'm old). Right now I only use Facebook and twitter but I thought Tumblr sounded kind of cool (maybe a little more creative). However, the article said a lot of younger people use it. Dont want to be some dorky old person on a site for teenagers. I know a lot of people like Pinterest too bit don't use that either. I was just wondering what sites everyone uses and which you like best. Why? Do you use different ones for different things? Thanks!

Facebook is the only thing I have. I've looked at Pinterest but it just looked cluttered to me. I had myspace for a while, but the constant feel of needing to write a novel to update everyone just didn't appeal to me. Facebook seems to have become more of a political playground and I've considered dropping that as well. I probably won't as that is how I keep up with my family who lives out of state. I dont' care about Twitter. Reading some of the typing on facebook posts drives me nuts as it is. I refuse to try to decipher Twitter lingo. I've heard of Tumblr but haven't even looked at it.

I'm all over twitter and tumblr. Yes, there are a LOT of teens and tweens on tumblr, but they aren't all THAT bad. Tumblr (to me) is mainly for fandoms (especially Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Supernatural) so it's fun to read other fans' theories about the shows. I'm not all that creative, so I mainly just like to see what other people make (like gifs from shows, fan art, stuff like that). But it all depends on what you're looking to get out of social media. I DETEST facebook because it's full of people that I used to be friends with, but, quite frankly, now have nothing in common with. I've pretty much stopped using mine. I prefer the anonymity of twitter/tumblr. Good luck out there!

Facebook and Twitter here. Tumblr confuses me. I am not sure what it is all about.

I only use facebook. I primarily use it for our school's page. You can communicate with the teachers and other parents. I don't post on my page very often.
Isn't pinterest for crafts and such? I'm not crafty so it doesn't really appeal to me. I haven't tried twitter yet.
The people I actually want to talk to I either call or text or talk to here. Pink Smile

Facebook and Pinterest are the big ones for me. My Twitter has sat unused for a long time. I mainly used Twitter to follow soap actors. Tumblr I check every so often, just mainly for quotes and literary stuff. I used to use Flickr a lot for pictures, but I've let my membership (that allowed unlimited uploading) drop.
Fluffy, Pinterest is all kinds of things. Lots of crafts, recipes, wedding/birthday plans, fashion, fandom stuff (LOTS of Dr. Who and Sherlock, DD).

I use Facebook for family and friends (yes many old ones). I like it sometimes but it can get annoying. I jokingly call it Fakebook.
I have twitter but it's mostly to follow celebrities and send them annoying tweets.
I just set up a Pinterest account and linked it with my Facebook but it is very confusing to me still. We'll see.
There are just so many and they evolve all the time. It's interesting to hear what other people use. Thanks for all the info.

Think of Pinterest like a bulletin board. You 'pin' things you like to a 'board' so things are grouped together in subjects however you like. I have recipes, several craft boards divided by kids/holiday/outdoors/home decor, clothes I wished I could afford, and so on.

LOL Mrs M. I've joined a lot of them. I don't quite get the point of Pinterest. Doesn't seem to be much social interaction. Tumbler gives me vertigo. LOL. I'm very anti-Facebook. Too much personal information shared. I go there only to see what my nieces are up to. Twitter is by far my favorite, next to MyHourglass, which I consider a social network too.
