So while I was posting about the show Moonlighting I mentioned it had one of my favorite TV show themes songs. Back in the day there were a lot of great ones. Now a days they seem to be short and have hardly anything to them,(Castle..the Mentalist) I also loved Greatest American Hero,Cheers,MASH and the list goes on..how about Magnum PI or Miami Vice and Hill Street Blues. I think Big Bang Theory has a really good theme also. What are your favorites?

There was just an article on Yahoo and there was a poll and Gilligan's Island was the clear winner of people's favorite theme song.

In the school's Spring music program all of the songs are TV theme songs. Monica loves singing I'll Be There For You from Friends. I always liked the Facts of Life theme and the Love Boat theme.

You named so many of the great ones, blueyed358. I like the theme song to Gilmore Girls ("Where You Lead"). And the Golden Girls "Thank You For Being a Friend." I like I Love Lucy. The Greatest American Hero -- that's "Believe it Or Not It's Just Me" or something like that, right? George Castanza did a parody on that for an episode of Seinfeld. It was his answering machine message with his voice singing "Believe it or not, I'm not home." LOL. Gilligan's Island is definitely not a favorite. I think it may be the most memorable though. |

A lot of them anymore don't have actual lyrics, they are more just music with no lyrics.

The Andy Griffith Show is my fave tv show and my fave tv theme of all times.
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is another one of my fave tv themes.

How could I forget Gilmore Girls..Andy Griffith is show is a top one too..how about Dick Van Dyke or Mary Tyler Moore..and let's not forget the Adams Family..

The Jeffersons is one of my favorites. I also like Cheers, Big Bang, The Love Boat (it's fun and cheesy) and Miami Vice.

I have Downton Abbey as one of my ringtones. I also have the beginning theme of Dexter, as well as the one that plays during the credits at the end. Annabelle loves the theme to Big Bang Theory.
A lot of theme songs I like for the nostalgia aspect, like Dallas or Dukes of Hazzard or Cheers. Just themes I'd hear when I was growing up.
