Brady fears for Melanie's safety this week, and insists she move in with him.
"It's interesting that Brady has been thrown in the middle of this storyline," muses Eric Martsolf. "Dario, Melanie and Brady have one thing in common, and that would be Arianna. They all have their feelings about Arianna and what happened to her."
When Melanie posts a reward to find out who killed Arianna, an appreciative Dario worries it might endanger her, and asks her to withdraw it. Melanie refuses. On the way home, she is attacked by a masked man who confesses that he killed Arianna. Dario bursts through the door and knocks the masked man unconscious. Melanie peels away his mask and realizes that it's Troy, a drug dealer Arianna once arrested. Dario goes ballistic and starts beating Troy, who is rushed to the hospital.
At the hospital, Brady arrives and comforts Melanie -- and he and Dario can't help but fight. When Melanie apologizes to Dario for Brady's behavior, Dario asserts that Brady will only hurt her in the same way he did Arianna. "Brady isn't having any of Dario's accusations," dismisses Martsolf. "Especially at this time in his life. Arianna was the one person that Brady could turn to for support. So there's concentrated disagreement between Brady and Dario."
Brady recognizes Troy as the low-life dealer Arianna arrested. He's concerned that Troy's boss could come after Melanie and insists that she move in with him. "It's funny, because Brady is such a self-destructive individual right now," notes Martsolf. "But when it comes to Melanie, he wants to keep her safe at all costs."
And that means keeping her close!

Brady could turn to Arianna? Since when? Every time he did, she'd throw Nicole at him.
This whole thing is really turning me off. I love Brady, and like he's standing up for his buddy, but I really don't like how they're throwing them together.

Why oh why are they putting Brady with the children... ? He's a mature grown up man....he shouldn't be hanging out at the playground......

Uh oh. A thought just occured to me. That shot of a beat up guy in the hospital in the TV screen behind Lauren/Kate that we've all been debating about....maybe it's Troy. Maybe it wasn't something that was being filmed right then. Maybe it was a shot from this drivel. Now I'm sad.

I think that would still be too far away if that was the case! If it's Troy I would expect that to happen faster then two months away! Even stefano is gunning for him

With a show that seems determined to have at least one triangle going if not more,I have to agree with MrsM.This really looks like "Oh damn,we're losing Jay,we've lost Mark,we have to pair Molly with someone!"

I'll have to see how this plays out, but I do like the idea of keeping Brady and Melanie close, not necessarily romantically. I think Brady is about the only person that is close enough to Melanie's age that she can have some sort of friendship with. She's got Maggie and her parents, but who else is there in her world? Dario? Puh-leaze. I am torn about this. I don't want Melanie with Dario and if it means she's with Brady, then so be it I guess. But I don't want the writers to screw up the dynamic between Melanie and Brady and it is a bit pervy to pair them after having them give off this bro/sis vibe they've had going.

Friends/bro-sis relationship-yeah, it totally works. Romantically, it doesn't work for me. I don't like the pairing at all. I just don't. I'm stubborn that way.
I think in all the universe, they can find someone better than Dario for Melanie. I definitely vote to recast him with someone much more interesting. I'd rather a 1/2 sibling of Lexie (non Dimera) or another one of Abe's nephews come out of the woodworks for a change of scene while Dario fades out of the picture.

Two things.
1. Brady is worried that Troy's boss will come after Melanie. That's funny considering that Victor was once the kingpin of the operation (before EJ bought the drug trade). 2. Brady wants to move Melanie into the mansion? Not sure of the timeframe, but Chloe lives in the mansion. Maybe she's moved out by the time this unfolds, but wouldn't it be amusing to have both Chloe and Melanie under the same roof?
I'm impressed that Melanie and Brady remember Troy so vividly.

Why can't Daniel protect Melanie? She lives with him not by herself. It seems like Victor and Stefano are running boardinghouses!! I guess everyone can't live at the pub!

Well with Victor about to kick Chloe out of the K mansion and not having a place to live, I wonder if we will be seeing Daniel moving in with Jennifer soon and maybe that is why Melanie moves into the K mansion so that Daniel's apartment set can be vacated and redecorated and given to Chloe to live in. I really hate the way that Maggie's, Victor's and Stefano's houses have been turned into boardinghouses for any character on this show that needs a home to live in. I really wish that we could see some of these characters on this show have there own places to live. Actually I just forgot Stephanie's apartment is now vacated so I wonder if the Quinn guy is going to get her apartment or is he going to end up moving into the K mansion too.

Daniel could afford a better place to live. He could have moved out and given Chloe the apartment. I wonder if he and Melanie got a new couch!! I don't think they have money for sets. Maybe some high school woodshop class in California could build them some sets! Just an idea for ya KC!
