I think Shawn's comments pushed Philip too far. Especially telling Philip that he is no one's first choice.

Trey, I agree that Philip does have an arrogant streak about him at times. But Philip really loved Belle at one time. He was happy with her. And he really trusted Shawn. And even though his relationship with Chloe is adulterous, Philip puts that in a different category than Belle and Shawn. From his point of view, his best friend and wife cheated on him and that's pretty hurtful and emotional. He wants revenge. Will he reap what he sows?

Loved the chapter. That fight was a long time in coming. Looks like Philip is the better fighter. Again Philip only went with Chloe after he knew that Belle was cheating with Shawn.

But, he has to understand, Chloe was his first love. Belle was Shawn's first love. What makes Shawn's feelings for Belle any different (other than Phil can't see outside of himself?)

I don't consider Belle and Chloe to be best friends anymore since they've been living on separate continents for several years.

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL ER, WAITING ROOM

An ambulance brought both Shawn and Philip to the hospital. Belle had called 911 from home because both men needed medical attention after the brutal fight they had in Belle and Philip’s kitchen. Shawn was in worse shape, but early reports were that they would both live to fight another day.

Belle took out her mobile phone and dialed a number.

Belle: Brady? it’s me.
Brady [on the phone]: Hey Tink.
Belle: It’s time.
Brady: Time for what?
Belle: Time to go get Chloe.
Brady: Why? What’s going on?
Belle: Philip showed up at the house while Shawn was there.
Brady: Wow.
Belle: They went at it, Brady. They beat the crap out of each other.
Brady: You should have called me. I’d pay to watch that fight. In fact, I would have been happy to help Shawn finish Philip off.
Belle: It’s not funny, Brady. I thought Philip was gonna kill Shawn.
Brady: Is Shawn okay?
Belle: He will be. He has a concussion.
Brady: And Philip?
Belle: He’ll be okay too. They’re holding him for observation.
Brady: So that means ...
Belle: Exactly. Chloe is alone.
Brady: Excellent. Is she in the same location as before?
Belle: As far as I know. Dad’s sources said that they were holed up in the cabin where they got stranded during the reunion. Do you remember where it is?
Brady: You bet I do.
Belle: Okay, Brady. I’ll meet you there in an hour.
Brady: Why?
Belle: Because I have a few things I want to say to ghoul girl.
Brady: You’ll have your chance later. I want to see her alone. How long do you think Philip will be in the hospital?
Belle: I don’t know. Maybe another couple hours or so.
Brady: That’s good. That’s really good. Listen, I gotta get going.
Belle: Okay.
Brady: Hey Tink. Thanks for the heads-up.

Nicole had been standing nearby after finishing her annual checkup, and she overheard part of Belle’s phonecall. When Belle put her phone in her purse, Nicole approached her.

Nicole: Brady’s in Salem?
Belle: Nicole! You startled me.
Nicole: Answer me. Is Brady here in Salem?
Belle: What’s it to you?
Nicole: I can’t believe he’s here and he didn’t call me.
Belle: There’s a lot going on. And none of it is any of your business. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have an appointment.
Belle headed for the parking lot to get her car as Nicole mumbled under her breath.
Nicole: We’ll just see about that.
Nicole followed Belle out.


HOSPITAL EXAMINING ROOM

Philip’s vision was slightly blurred as he tried to focus on the doctor who was standing over him, writing notes on a clipboard. The doctor’s voice sounded far away as he said something about Philip never changing.

Doctor: You’re still the same snot-nosed, rich, entitled brat you always were. I thank God every day that Chloe had the good sense to marry Brady instead of you.
Philip: Dr. Wesley?
Craig: Good, you recognize me. That means your cognitive skills are intact. You have some cuts and contusions, but nothing serious. We’re going to keep you a couple hours for observation. Make sure there’s no edemas.
Philip: A couple hours? I need to get out of here now.
Craig: I don’t think so. You may not be going anywhere except to jail, young man. Not if Shawn Brady files assault charges against you.
Philip: Shawn. That’s right. How’s Shawn?
Craig: Ah, suddenly you’re interested in his well-being because you may be facing charges. He’s in a lot worse shape than you. He’s got a concussion and he needed a hundred stitches. Luckily, he’ll live.
Philip: Good. Hey, where’s my phone?
Craig: Do I look like a receptionist?
Philip: I need my phone! It’s important.
Craig: Stock market trading hours are over.
Philip: Dr. Wesley, you don’t understand. I really need my phone.
Craig: Your belongings are in this bag. The one marked “Your Belongings.”
Craig plopped the bag on Philip’s chest. Philip reached inside the bag and grimaced as he felt a twinge of pain in his side.
Philip: Ouch.
Craig: Serves you right. Good day, Mr. Kiriakis.
When Craig left, Philip took his phone out of the bag and dialed Chloe’s secure phone number. There was no answer.
Philip: Dammit Chloe! Answer the phone.

I'm worried about Brady waiting until Chloe was alone too. I wonder if that's where Belle is headed. I liked Craig being the one to treat Philip. I can hardly wait for more.
