TITAN HEADQUARTERS, SALEM
Philip sat at his desk at work. His lower back was killing him after sleeping on a sofa for a couple of nights, including last night. But he had no desire to sleep in the same bed with Belle under the circumstances. She could deny it all she wanted, but he knew the truth. She was having an affair with Shawn. Chloe had confirmed it and she had no reason to lie. Unless ... no, she wouldn’t do that. Chloe isn’t the type of girl who lies to get a man. That’s not her style. If she was interested in Philip, all she had to do was say so. She wouldn’t have needed to tell him that Belle was cheating on him with Shawn if it weren’t true.
Still, Belle seemed very convinced about the baby being his. And if this baby is his, he would stay with Belle until it was born. Then he would divorce her and file for custody. He had the means and desire to care for a child. And it wouldn’t be hard to prove that Belle was unfit if it came to that. Philip buzzed Marie on the intercom.
Philip: Marie, what’s the name of the private investigators my father uses? Marie: I’ll look that up for you, Mr. Kiriakis. Philip: While you’re looking, order me a good mattress. Marie: Um, what size? Philip: What would be a good size for a guest bedroom? Marie: I don’t mean to get personal, but is it ... for someone who’s about the same height and weight as you? Philip: Yes. Marie: Full or Queen. Philip: Not Queen. Too girly. Marie: Then Full. Philip: I want a Tempurpedic. It’s the best. Marie: Yes sir. I’m on it.
Meanwhile, Philip was dying to talk to Chloe. Dying to see her. It hadn’t even been 36 hours since he saw her and yet he missed her so much. He physically ached for her, and not just because of the lumpy sofa he slept on last night. How on earth would he last until he saw her again? He didn’t even know when that might be.
But he did know that she and Brady were staying at the Salem Inn for a few more days. Maybe he would go there for lunch, hoping to run into her. Or he could call her when he got there and ask her to meet him. He liked that plan. He looked at his watch. Only 10:00. He buzzed Marie again.
Philip: Do I have any meetings this morning? Marie: You’re meeting with Real Estate at 10:45, and you have a working lunch with the advertising team. Philip: Cancel them. Marie: Whatever you say Mr. Kiriakis. And I have the name of the private investigator. I just emailed it to you.

I liked Marie's questions about the mattress. I am glad Philip is going to the hotel to try and see Chloe. He doesn't seem to be concentrating on work.

SALEM INN
Philip was drumming his fingers on the lunch counter at the Salem Inn Garden Grove Restaurant. He was too antsy to sit at a regular table. He had just left a message on Chloe’s cell phone, telling her he was downstairs. He had no idea if she would come. Hell, he had no idea if she was even in the hotel right now. Or if Brady was with her. God, he was feeling and acting just like he did back in high school when Chloe consumed his whole world.
He heard someone say his name and he swiveled around on his stool. His heart skipped a beat when he saw her standing in front of him ... with her husband.
Brady: Philip! Philip: Hello Brady. Chloe. Chloe: Philip. Brady: What are you doing here? Philip: I’m ... supposed to meet someone. Philip tried not to stare at Chloe but he found it impossible to look away. She was so beautiful it left him breathless, even though she was just out of reach. As for Chloe, she avoided meeting Philip’s eyes and was looking everywhere but at him. Brady: Bet it’s good to be back home, huh? I mean after your ordeal in the cabin with Chloe. Philip: It wasn’t so bad. Chloe: How’s your foot? Philip: It’s still there. Brady: Ha! Good one. Chloe: Would you excuse me? I need to find the ladies room. The rest rooms were in the hotel lobby, just outside the entrance to the restaurant, and Chloe headed in that direction. Philip took that as his cue. Philip: Yeah, I’ve got to call the office ... find out what happened to the person I’m supposed to meet for lunch. Brady: Okay. See ya.
Philip left the restaurant and walked to where the rest rooms were. He looked toward the men’s room, but went into the women’s room. Chloe was looking in the mirror putting on Chapstick when she saw Philip out of the corner of her eye. Chloe: Philip! What are you doing? You can’t be in here. She had barely finished her sentence before Philip’s arms were around her, his lips kissing hers. She melted into his embrace. Philip: I had to see you. I needed to make sure what happened between us wasn’t just a dream. Chloe: It wasn’t. It really happened, and I can't stop thinking about it. They kissed again. Philip: Mmm, you taste like strawberries and cream. Chloe: It’s lip balm. Philip: No, it’s you. I call it dessert. Philip kissed her again, this time more deeply. He found himself leading Chloe into a stall. Chloe: Philip, no. We can’t. Despite her verbal protests, she made no effort to push him away. As he kissed her neck and his hands roamed the front of her blouse, she pulled him closer and kissed him full on the mouth. Between kisses, they spoke. Chloe: This isn’t the most romantic place you’ve ever taken me. Philip: I’ll do better next time. Chloe: Promise? Philip: Oh yeah. Suddenly Philip remembered Belle, and his lips left Chloe’s. Philip: Chloe, why didn’t you tell me that ... A knock on the outside Ladies Room door interrupted.
Brady [from outside the rest rooms]: Chloe? You in there? We’re gonna miss our flight.
Philip: Flight? Chloe: We’re heading back today. Philip: No. Chloe: Yes. Philip: Oh god. Chloe: I have to go. Chloe squeezed past Philip in the stall and opened the stall door. Chloe: Be right out, Brady. She adjusted her clothing and smoothed her hair before leaving. Philip caught her arm and pulled her toward him for another kiss. Chloe ran her fingers through his hair and smiled at him. Chloe: Auf wiedersehen my sweet Philip. Until we meet again. She touched her fingers to her lips, and then to his. He held her other hand for a moment, then let it slip through his fingers as she departed. She was gone. And he was alone. In a hotel restaurant ladies room.
