Chloe: Thanks for coming over and babysitting. I won’t be gone long.
Philip: Before you go, there’s something I need to tell you.
Chloe: What is it?
Philip: I was going to do something today and wait until after the fact to tell you about it.
Chloe: What do you mean?
Philip: But I’m done keeping secrets. So I’m telling you that I made an appointment for me and Parker at the Cleveland Clinic to have a DNA test done.
Chloe: Cleveland?
Philip: I want to double-check the results you got at St. Mary’s.
Chloe: Why?
Philip: Chloe, come on, we know how things go down in Salem. You can’t trust test results unless you do them yourself.
Chloe: Are you thinking you could be Parker’s father?
Philip: I don’t know. Probably not. But I’ve always felt this connection to him. And maybe it’s just my imagination, but don’t you think he looks a little like me? Look, for my own peace of mind, I need to know for sure. Are you okay with that?
Chloe: I ... I guess so. I don’t really know what to think.
Philip: Do me a favor. Don’t say anything to anyone about this. Not Nicole, not anyone.
Chloe: Why not?
Philip: Because. If it turns out I’m Parker’s father, it means that the original test results were switched.
Chloe: Who would want to switch the test results? And why?
Philip: I don’t know.
Chloe: Okay, I won’t say anything.
Philip: You know what? I don’t think you can keep a secret.
Chloe: Excuse me? Are you insinuating that I’m a blabbermouth?
Philip: Nah. Not so much insinuating as coming right out and saying it.
Chloe: Thanks a lot.
Philip laughs and puts his hands on Chloe’s shoulders.
Philip: It’s okay Chloe. That’s one of the things that makes you so...
Chloe: Makes me what?
Philip: So lovable. Hey, I have an idea. I know how I can make sure that you don’t say anything to anyone. Call Nicole and tell her you’re going to see your mother for a couple days.
Chloe: What???

Brady: Hey Nicole.
Nicole: Are you stalking me?
Brady: Maybe. Want to go shoot some pool at the Cheatin Heart?

Philip, Chloe, and Parker enter a hotel room after visiting The Cleveland Clinic.
Chloe: So this is your idea of keeping me quiet, huh? You’re going to keep tabs on me 24 hours a day until the paternity test results come in.
Philip: They said we should have the results tomorrow.
Chloe: That’s fast. Did you bribe them?
Philip: Nah, I tried, but they gave me this speech about medical ethics.
Chloe [laughing]: Ya, right. ... You know, Parker’s getting fussy. I’m going to feed him and put him down for the night.
Chloe sits in a chair and discreetly breastfeeds the baby. Philip takes off his jacket and tie, sits on the bed and starts reading his messages on his cell phone. As Chloe starts singing to Parker, Philip closes his phone and looks over at them.
Hush little baby, don't say a word

And if that mockingbird don't sing

Chloe watches her baby drift to sleep as Philip walks over. She puts Parker in the crib that has been set up in the room.
Philip [whispering]: That was beautiful.
Chloe [whispering]: He really likes that song. And he doesn’t even mind that I can never remember the words.
Philip: I think he likes the sound of your voice. So do I.
Chloe: You’re sweet.
Philip: Yea well, don’t let that get around. You’ll ruin my reputation for being ruthless.
Chloe: You know I don’t like people saying bad things about my friends. The Philip I know isn’t ruthless.
Philip: Maybe you don’t know me as well as you think.
Chloe: I think I know you as well as anybody.
Philip: Probably better.
Chloe: Probably so. Like, I know you’re secretly hoping that Parker is really yours.
Philip: What?
Chloe: And I know that talking about your deepest hopes and dreams makes you uncomfortable because you’re afraid you’ll be disappointed again.
Philip: Okay, you do know me. So ... let’s talk about something else.
Chloe: See, I knew if you had to spend 24 hours a day with me, I’d make you crazy.
Philip: Actually ... you’re making me a good kind of crazy. ... Chloe, if I tried to kiss you right now, would you push me away?
Chloe: No.
Philip moves toward Chloe and runs his hand through her hair and kisses her, in a series of short sweet kisses. He stops and looks into her eyes.
Philip: God you’re beautiful.
Chloe: So are you.
Their lips attach as they move toward the bed and undress each other. Philip puts his arm around Chloe and lowers her onto the bed. She closes her eyes and enjoys the feeling of Philip’s lips leisurely working their way down her naked body. As he makes his way back up toward her face, he caresses her cheek and whispers to her.
Philip: I want you to know something.
Chloe brushes his hair away from his face so she can look into his eyes.
Chloe: What?
Philip: I don’t want you because I think of you as my default lover.
Chloe: No?
Philip: No. I want you because I’m in love with you.
He kisses her and they make love.

Nicole has her pool cue in hand and is about to take a shot when Brady comes up behind her and starts nibbling on her neck.
Nicole: Brady, you’re making me lose my concentration.
Brady: That’s the general idea.
Nicole: Well cut it out.
Brady: You always used to like it when I did that.
Nicole: Um ya, I’d say “like” is an understatement. But we’re in public, so go suck on some ice cubes or something.
Brady: Let’s go get a room.
Nicole: Not tonight.
Brady [laughing]: Not tonight? Why not? You have a headache?
Nicole: I just don’t feel like it, is all.
Brady: Since when?
Nicole: Since ...
Brady: Since ...?
Nicole: Since you reek from alcohol. Since you stopped having the ability to have a normal conversation. Since you don’t take anything seriously anymore. And since I’m not sure I really know who the hell you are.
Brady: Wow, you’re the last person who should be judgmental. Nothing worse than a reformed prostitute.
Nicole slaps Brady’s face.
Nicole: You go to hell, you worthless drunk.
She grabs her purse and heads for the exit.
Brady: Nicole, come back here. I was joking.
Nicole: Don’t call me anymore!


TITAN JET, THE NEXT DAY

Chloe: So, what now?
Philip: My father has a team of investigators on retainer. I’m going to get one of them to find out who switched the paternity test results.
Chloe: Do you think that’s a good idea?
Philip: Don’t you want to know?
Chloe: That’s not what I meant. I mean, suppose it was Victor who changed the test results.
Philip: Why would he do a thing like that?
Chloe: Isn’t it obvious? He hates me. It was bad enough when I married his godson. Can you imagine Victor’s reaction to knowing that I’m the mother of his grandchild?
Philip: Really good point. I hadn’t thought of that. I’m going to have to get my own investigator. Can I hold the baby?
Chloe: Of course. You are such a natural with him.
He kisses the baby.
Philip: Hey there big guy. It’s your daddy. ... Chloe, look. He’s smiling. You know, hardly anything in my life has gone the way I wanted it to, but this little guy has changed everything. This may be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. ... Are you okay, Chloe? Or are you disappointed that I’m Parker’s father?
Chloe: It’s not that. It’s just a lot to process, you know?
Philip: I know. Remember when Parker was being born in the cabin?
Chloe: There were no drugs. Of course I remember.
Philip: When I walked in, I sat on the bed beside you and held your hand. I can’t explain it, but I felt some kind of ... I don’t know ... cosmic connection.
Chloe: I felt it too.
Philip: I think I knew at that minute that I was Parker’s father.

LIMOUSINE FROM SALEM AIRPORT

Philip: I hope you’re not sorry about what happened last night. Because I’m not.
Chloe smiles.
Philip: I’m glad we made love. And I’m glad it happened before we got the DNA results back.
Chloe: Why?
Philip: Because ... what happened last night is completely separate from me finding out I’m Parker’s father. Last night was just between you and me. Philip and Chloe. And I meant everything I said to you. I love you. I want you to know that.
Chloe: Philip, I don’t know what to say. I’m not sure I’m ready ...
Philip: It’s okay. There’s no pressure here.
Chloe: Philip, I know you. There’s no such thing as “no pressure” where you’re concerned. When you want something, you go after it with a vengence.
Philip: You’re right. I do tend to be an all-or-nothing kind of guy.
The limousine stops in front of Chloe's apartment building.
Chloe: Well, we’re home.
Philip: Joe, wait for me. I’ll be back in a few minutes.


CHLOE’S APARTMENT

Chloe and Philip enter with the baby.
Nicole: Chloe! I’m so glad you’re home. Oh ... hi Philip. Chloe, I have something so exciting to tell you.
Philip: Well, I’m gonna head home. I’ll call you later, okay?
Chloe: Sounds good. Thanks Philip.
He leaves.
Nicole: Why is Philip always hanging around lately?
Chloe: Is he?
Nicole: He’s always here or calling you on the phone. Did he go with you to visit your mother?
Chloe: He’s a good friend.
Nicole: And that’s all?
Chloe: That’s all.
Nicole: Okay fine. Whatever. Listen. I just got an amazing job offer and I can’t believe they want me. I mean ... me. Nicole Walker Dimera. Chloe? Are you listening to me? ... Earth to Chloe. ... I just got offered my own talk show. It’s going to be called the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Chloe: That’s nice.
Nicole: Okay, I know you’re not listening to me. What’s going on?
Chloe: I am so sorry Nicole. What did you say?
Nicole: What’s going on with you?
Chloe looks at Parker.
Chloe: I’ve just got a lot on my mind. It’s nothing. Tell me about your exciting news.
Nicole: I got offered a job on Entertainment Tonight.
Chloe: Really?
Nicole: Yes, I’m going to be one of the roving reporters.
Chloe: Oh my god, that’s so exciting. ... I guess this means you’ll be moving away.
Nicole: Oh. Um. Uh huh. I’m sorry. I know you count on me.
Chloe: Don’t you dare be sorry. This is the chance of a lifetime for you.
Nicole: I know! There’s only one problem.
Chloe: What is it?
Nicole: Before they extend a formal offer, they want three references. And I don’t know three people who will say nice things about me.
Chloe: Well, I’ll give you a reference.
Nicole: Thanks, but they want business references.
Chloe: I’m sure Philip and Brady will give you good references.

Philip is holding Parker as he and Chloe are walking through the hospital lobby.
Chloe: What’s going on with the investigation?
Philip: I’ll tell you later when we’re not in public.
Chloe: Oh, it’s nearly 2:00. I need to get to my appointment now.
Philip: Good luck with your checkup.
Chloe: Thanks for taking Parker for his 6-month well-baby exam while I have my own doctor’s appointment.
Philip: Hey, it’s my pleasure. I’ll meet you in the lobby afterward.
Chloe: If I get done before you do, I’ll come over to Pediatrics. ... Mommy will see you later Parker. Be good for Daddy.
Chloe kisses Parker.
Philip: What about me? Don’t I get a kiss?
Chloe smiles and kisses Philip.
Philip: I’ll be good too.


PEDIATRICS

Later, Philip is in the examination room with Parker after the doctor has left. The baby is on the examining table and Philip is changing Parker’s diaper when Melanie enters.
Melanie: I thought I heard your voice.
Philip: Hey Mel.
Melanie: How’s Parker?
Philip: Fine. He just passed his 6-month checkup with flying colors.
Melanie: Where’s Chloe?
Philip: She had a doctor’s appointment too.
Melanie: I’m glad I caught you by yourself.
Philip: I’m not by myself. I’m with Parker.
Melanie: Ha. That’s true. Look Philip, I wanted to talk to you.
Philip: If it’s about the divorce settlement, you should call my lawyer.
Melanie: No, it’s not about that.

Chloe is about to enter the examining room when she hears Melanie’s voice. She pauses outside the door.
Melanie: Um. It’s about us.
Philip: Us?
Melanie: I miss you Philip. I’ve been completely miserable without you.

Philip: Perfect. Dr. Hellman gave him a clean bill of health.
Chloe: That’s wonderful.
Philip: Let’s go home. I need to tell you something.
Chloe: I have somewhere else that I need to go first.
Philip: Okay. Where do you want to go?
Chloe: Bye.
Philip: Oh. Um. Okay. I need to go to the office anyway.
Chloe turns and rushes off.


SAMI AND RAFE’S APARTMENT

Sami: Lucas, I miss you.
Lucas: Aw thanks, honey.
Sami: I miss you like I miss a toothache.
Lucas: Are you putting on a little weight?
Sami: I wouldn’t know. I can’t see anything because of the glare coming off your bald spot.
Lucas: I have more hair than you do.
Sami: That’s true, but it’s not on your head.

There’s a knock at the door. Chloe answers it and Philip walks in.
Philip: Okay, what gives?
Chloe: Sorry?
Philip: Why are you avoiding me?

Philip: Yes you are. I’ve been calling you for two days. You’re impossible to reach, you won’t return my phonecalls. What’s going on?
Chloe: I think ... I think we should ... cool off.
Philip: What does that mean? Are you breaking up with me?
Chloe: I think that would be best.
Philip: No it wouldn’t.
Chloe: Yes it would.
Philip: Why? Have I done something wrong? Is there someone else?
Chloe: Yes.
Philip: What??? Who?
Chloe: Melanie.
Philip: Melanie?
Chloe: Yes, Melanie. She wants you back.
Philip: Oh.
Chloe: Yea, “oh.” I overheard you and Melanie talking at the hospital the other day. I know she wants you back. So go, be happy with Melanie.

Chloe is choking back tears.
Chloe: Look Philip, I’m trying to make this easier on both of us. So please, let’s not belabor this. Just go.

Chloe: Look, you don’t have to worry that I won’t let you come see Parker. You can see him any time you want.
Philip: Can you stop talking for a minute so I can get a word in edgewise? ... You know what I don’t understand?

Philip: How is it possible that the most beautiful woman in the world is also the most insecure woman I’ve ever known?
Chloe: What do you mean?
Philip: I mean ... you’re automatically assuming that just because Melanie wants me back, I’m going to get back with her.

Philip: Loved. Past tense.

Philip: Really. Chloe, you don’t need to be insecure. Not with me. I love you. Don’t you get that? I’ve waited too long to be with you and I’m not giving you up.

Philip: No! No, but I’ll admit that I’m kind of glad you’re crying because you thought you lost me. Does that mean what I think it means?

Chloe and Philip are cuddling in the afterglow. He kisses her head.
Philip: Are you okay?
Chloe: I am now. Today turned out a lot better than I expected.
Philip: I was going to tell you about seeing Melanie at the doctor’s office, but you took off so fast, I didn’t have a chance to explain.
Chloe: You can’t blame me for being surprised that you don't want to reconcile with her.
Philip: I'm a little surprised too. The truth is, I don't feel like I could ever live up to her expectations. She's so idealistic and I think I'd always be disappointing her.
Chloe: Oh.
Philip: Besides, I happen to be head over heels in love with you.
Chloe: I like that answer better. Did you tell Melanie about us?
Philip: Um, not exactly. I told her I’ve moved on, but I didn’t say with who. I didn’t want to hurt her any more than I already have. But I’m sure she can figure it out.
Chloe: I feel kind of bad for her, but not bad enough to give you back. She kisses Philip. ... I’m sorry I jumped to conclusions.
Philip: We know from experience what can happen when you jump to conclusions.
Chloe: Like when you saw Melanie kissing Nathan. And when I saw you kissing Melanie ...
Philip: Hey, she kissed me. You would have seen me push her away if you didn’t leave when you did.
Chloe: You and Melanie kissing wasn’t something I wanted to watch.
Philip: I know. I’m sorry. Promise me something?
Chloe: Anything.
Philip: If you ever have any doubts about me ... about us, talk to me. No more jumping to conclusions.

They kiss and start to become intimate when Philip’s phone rings. He reads the text message.
Philip: The investigator has some information for me. He thinks he knows the identity of the person who switched the paternity test results.
Philip gets out of bed and gets dressed.
Chloe: I’m really hoping it was an honest mistake.
Philip: Somehow, I doubt it.
Chloe: Call me as soon as you know anything.
Philip: I will.
Chloe: I love you.
Philip smiles.
Philip: Say that again.
Chloe: Say what again? I love you?
Philip: I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing you say that.
Chloe: Good. Because you’re going to hear it a lot. I love you.
Philip: I love you more.
Chloe: I seriously doubt that.
Philip kisses Chloe and leaves.

Chloe: There must be a mistake. That makes no sense. No sense whatsoever. That means ... he knew about our one night stand. How did he find out?
Philip: I’m guessing he overheard it ... from some ... ahem ... blabbermouth.
Chloe: Then why didn’t he confront me? Why didn’t he say something? Why would he just change the paternity test? Oh my god, my heading is spinning.
Philip: Calm down, Chloe. I agree it makes no sense. Unless ...
Chloe: Unless what?
Philip: Unless ... Daniel didn’t want to lose you. My guess is he probably felt some responsibility for everything he put you through after Carly first came back to town and Vivian’s scheming. He knew how fragile you were and ... I think he loved you so much he was willing to raise another man’s child as his own.
Chloe: I can’t believe he would do that. I have to go.
Philip: What?? Where are you going?
Chloe: I have to go see Daniel. If what you say is true, I need to ... I need to talk to him.

Chloe and Daniel head for his office. Once inside, Chloe closes the door.
Chloe: How could you do it?
Daniel: Do what?
Chloe: Change the results so it looked like you were Parker’s father.
Daniel: I don’t ... know what ... you’re talking about.
Chloe: We hired a private investigator. I know it was you.
Daniel: “We,” huh? Are you ... and Philip a couple now?
Chloe: I’m the one asking the questions, not you!
Daniel: Whoa, where did my sweet Chloe go? I’ve never heard you sound so angry before.
Chloe: You played god, Daniel! You always play god.
Daniel: Don’t stand there and tell me you weren’t thrilled when the test said Parker was mine. It was what you wanted. So don’t come in here all sanctimonious like you’re the injured party. I’m the one who was cheated on, not you.

Chloe becomes quiet and contrite.
Daniel: Yea, that’s what I thought you’d say.
Chloe: When did you find out? I mean, how did you know?
Daniel: I heard you and Carly talking about it on the pier. You were arranging to meet at St. Mary’s. When I came up, you pretended you were talking about your birthday. But I heard it all.
Chloe: Why didn’t you say anything? Why didn’t you confront me?
Daniel: You don’t handle confrontation well. Well, you didn’t used to. But you’ve apparently gotten better at it.
Chloe: Why would you want to raise another man’s baby?
Daniel: I wanted to raise your baby, Chloe. Once I found out about the circumstances and Vivian’s setup, I understood how it could have happened. I knew you really loved me, and that’s all I needed to know.
Chloe: But you’re the one who ended our marriage.
Daniel: Yeah, well, when I changed the test results, I had no idea that my daughter’s husband was the man you slept with. That fact changed everything because Melanie was affected ... I felt like I was being disloyal to her if I stayed married to you. But I’m not so sure it was the best decision.
Chloe: What are you saying?
Daniel: Being apart from you ... it’s the hardest thing ... I’ve ever done. It’s killing me. I still love you, Chloe. Let’s leave Salem. Let’s start over somewhere new.

Chloe: Someone switched the paternity test results. And Philip and I just found out who it was.
Nicole: Who?
Chloe: It was Daniel.
Nicole: Double wow. Talk about the last person you’d ever suspect. Besides Caroline Brady, I mean.
Chloe: I know. I just came from talking to Daniel.
Nicole: What did he say?
Chloe: He said he switched the results because he was trying to make things right for us. He was willing to raise another man’s baby because he didn’t want to lose me.
Nicole: That’s really noble. But he’s the one who broke it off with you.
Chloe: Only because of Melanie. He said he still loves me.
Nicole: Chloe! I’m so happy for you. You’re getting back together with Daniel!

Sami: Will said the two of you had a lot of fun at the batting cage last week.
Lucas: Uh huh.
Sami: What's the matter? Didn't you have a good time?
Lucas: Oh sure. It was great ... if you like hearing about Ralph all the time. Ralph Ralph Ralph.
Sami: Ralph ... I mean Rafe is like a father to Will.
Lucas: Excuse me, Will has a father. Me!
Sami: You sound like EJ.
Lucas: Say that again and you’re a dead woman.
Sami: Give me a break!
Lucas: Next time, instead of a batting cage, I think I'll take Will to target practice. You should come along.
Sami: You know what? You wouldn't be so jealous of Rafe if you were around more often.
Lucas: Oh? Are you saying you want me around more often?
Sami: Maybe.
Lucas: Well, maybe you're right. Maybe I should be around more often.
Sami: Maybe you should.
Lucas: Maybe I will.
Sami: Who’s stopping you?
Lucas: You know what? Just shut up.
Lucas grabs Sami and kisses her.

Philip has left the office to get some fresh air. He has too much on his mind to concentrate on work. As he walks through the park, his mind is going in a hundred different directions and he starts talking to himself. 

Philip: Should I sue Daniel or should I kill him?
Why did Chloe run off to see Daniel like that?
What is she thinking? 
Are they together right now?
What are they doing?
Suppose Daniel wants her back?
Was she with me only because Daniel didn't want her anymore?
If I didn’t tell Chloe that Daniel switched the results, would she be with Daniel now or with me?
Damn, I blew it!
So should I kill Daniel or sue him?
I gave up Melanie to be with Chloe and now I’m going to lose Chloe too.
Lucas will say I told you so. 
Oh god! What about Parker?
I want him in my life. I can't lose him.
I can't lose Chloe.
I’m losing my mind.
He takes a deep breath.
You need to calm down Philip.

Philip is sitting on the grass leaning against a tree, when Chloe arrives.
Chloe: Philip! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!
Philip: Is Parker okay?
Chloe: He’s fine. Nicole is with him. Why do you have your cell turned off?
Philip: I just didn’t feel like talking. Did you see Daniel?
Chloe: I did. And it’s true. Everything the investigator said. And your theory about why he did it. You were right. He wanted to keep us together because he loves me so much.
Philip: I know the feeling.
Chloe: Nicole thinks he’s noble. I haven’t decided whether I think he’s immoral or the biggest control freak who ever lived. All he does is play god ... decide what people should do, what they should say, how they should feel. Him. Carly. Melanie. The god complex family. They have it all figured out and god forbid if you don’t agree with them.

Philip gets up off the ground and dusts off his pants.
Philip: Wow, you’re really angry. You need to calm down, Chloe.
Chloe: No I don’t! And I don’t want you telling me what to do either.
Philip: Okay. I get that! I’m sorry!
Chloe: No ... I’m sorry. I just never expected this. I was finally moving on with my life and I didn’t think I’d have to deal with this anymore.
Philip: What are you going to do?
Chloe: What do you mean?
Philip: I mean, knowing how Daniel feels about you. Are you and he ...
Chloe: Getting back together? Are you crazy?
Philip: Um.
Chloe: You know what I don’t understand?
Philip: What?
Chloe: How is it possible that the most handsome man in the world is also the most insecure man I’ve ever known?
Philip: Who are you talking about? Me or Daniel?
Chloe [laughing]: You! And you just proved my point. Why are you so insecure?
Philip: Seriously? It’s Philip you’re talking to, remember? I’m the guy who always loses the girl to some other guy.
Chloe: Not this time, Philip. And never again.
She kisses him.
Philip: Thank God.

He smiles and takes her hand.
Philip: I want to show you something. Do you remember this?
He touches the tree he was leaning against. On the tree trunk, the words “P&C 4 Ever” are carved inside a heart.
Chloe: Of course I remember. But I thought you chopped that tree down.
Philip: I started to. But I couldn’t do it. Because it’s a symbol of my love for you. When I carved our initials on this tree, I told you it would last forever. And it has. Just like you and me. P&C forever. Chloe, I don’t want to lose you. I want to be with you forever.
Still holding her hand, he gets down on one knee.
Philip: Will you marry me, Chloe? Please say yes.
Chloe smiles from ear to ear.
Chloe: Yes!
Philip gets up as Chloe throws her arms around him and their lips meet in a long and passionate kiss. Coming up for air, Philip looks at Chloe through half-closed eyes.
Philip: Is this for real? You did just say you’d marry me, didn’t you?
Chloe: You bet I did.
Philip and Chloe kiss again as the sights and sounds of the park fade into thin air.

SALEM CITY PARK, A WEEK LATER

Chloe and Philip are sitting on a park bench. Parker is in Philip’s arms.
Chloe: I’ve been thinking ...
Philip: Good. I usually like the way you think ... He smiles and leans over and kisses her ... among other things.
Chloe: What would you say if I told you I wanted to change the baby’s name?
Philip: Why?
Chloe: Because ... someday he’s going to ask why I named him Parker and I’m going to have to tell him that it was my ex-husband’s mother’s maiden name.
Philip: Ha. I see what you’re saying. What name did you have in mind?
Chloe: I don’t know. I thought we could decide together.
Philip: That sounds great.
Chloe: Which reminds me, I need to call Nancy and Craig later. I’ve sort of been putting off telling them about us.
Philip: They haven’t been my biggest fan.
Chloe: That’s because they don’t know the man you’ve become.
Philip: Hey, I just thought of the perfect name for the baby!
Chloe: It had better not be “Victor.” Uh oh.
Chloe looks up and sees Victor, Kate, Lucas, and Brady off in the distance, heading in her direction.

Philip: What’s the matter?
Chloe: Remember how you were saying you wish you could tell your family about the baby being yours?
Philip: Yeah, but what’s the point? My parents are barely speaking to me. Besides, they’re not going to be happy for us.
Chloe: The word happy isn’t in your family’s dictionary.
Philip: Damn straight. The funny this is, if I had a normal family, it would probably be a red flag if they all hated the woman I love. In my case, it tells me I’m doing the right thing.
Chloe laughs.
Chloe: Still, they’re your family and you love them. That’s why I invited them to join us here at the park today.
Philip: What?
Chloe: Please don’t be mad. I just wanted to give you the chance to tell them the truth ... about Parker being yours.
Philip [smiling]: I’m not mad, sweetie. I just can’t believe you did that, considering how badly they always treat you.
Chloe: I plan to turn a deaf ear, as Father Matt would say. Today isn’t about me. It’s for you.
Philip: I ... I don’t know what I did to deserve you. I love you.
Chloe: I love you more.
Philip: I seriously doubt that.

They kiss, as Kate, Victor, Lucas, and Brady walk up.
Victor: I think I’ve died and gone to hell. What’s going on here?
Philip: Nice to see you too, Dad.
Kate: I hope I’m having the same nightmare as you are, Victor.
Lucas: That makes three of us.
Philip: Okay, if you’re done having your fun, I have some news. And it’s great news.
Lucas: Uh oh.
Philip: Chloe and I ...
Kate: Dear god no, I can’t listen. She puts her fingers in her ears. La la la la la la.
Philip [looks at Chloe]: Don’t make me do this.
Chloe: It’ll be fine.
Philip: Okay. Here goes. Chloe and I are Parker’s parents. Parker is my son. We reran the paternity test and we now have conclusive proof.
Victor: What??? Who do you think you are? Al Gore? You keep re-counting the votes until the results come out your way?
Brady: I’m just here for moral support because I already knew about this. But since everyone else’s manners have escaped, I’ll be the role model. Brady shakes Philip’s hand and kisses Chloe on the cheek. This is really great news. Congratulations.
Victor: So. Is this really my grandson?
Chloe: Yes.
Kate: Oh dear.
Philip: I’ve got to thank you all. This was exactly the reaction I expected and you didn’t disappoint me. You know, it was Chloe’s idea to tell you. If it was up to me, I’d leave you all out in the cold for the way you’ve treated her.
Lucas: We have our reasons, you know.
Philip: Yeah, well, get over it. This is a new chapter in our lives. Chloe, me and the baby are a family now.
Kate: A family???
Philip: Oh, I guess I forgot to mention ... Chloe and I are married.
Chloe and Brady look at Philip like he’s crazy, but they don’t say anything.
Lucas: What??
Kate: Oh dear heavens no.
Victor: I always knew you were an imbecile.


LATER, AT THE CONDO

Chloe: Why did you lie and say we’re married?
Philip: Because, I don’t want my family at our wedding, and now they can’t try to stop us from getting married.
Chloe [sarcastically]: You really think they’d try to stop us?
He puts his arms around her.
Philip: Nothing is going to stop me from marrying you. I’ve been dreaming about marrying you my whole life.
Chloe: You have not.
Philip: Have too! When we were dating in high school, I went to one of Bo and Hope’s weddings. While they were saying their vows, I had a fantasy that we were saying ours.
Chloe: That’s so sweet. You never told me that.
Philip: Well, it’s taken more than a decade, but my dream is about to come true.
They kiss.

Nicole: Thanks Lou.
She tears open the envelope and looks at the letter.
Nicole: Oh my god. How did this happen?


SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, DANIEL’S OFFICE

Philip, Brady, and Lucas enter.
Daniel: What’s this about?
Philip: We want to talk to you.
Daniel: Why do I get the feeling I’m in a scene from The Godfather movie? Which one of you is Michael Corleone?
Philip: That would be me.
Lucas: I’ll be Luca Brazi.
Brady: I’ll be Sonny.
Philip: We’re not thrilled about what you did with the paternity test results.
Daniel: I’m not thrilled with what you did with my woman.
Lucas: I know the feeling.
Daniel: Lucas, you’re a jerk.
Lucas: You know what, Daniel? Shut up! You go around playing god and deciding what’s right and wrong, like it was alright for you and Chloe to cheat on me, but it wasn’t alright for Chloe and Philip to cheat on you.
Philip: Luca, you’re not helping. Besides, I can fight my own battles.
Daniel: Is that why you brought an entourage?
Philip: You tried to deprive me of my own child!
Daniel: I was saving you the trouble of abandoning him later.
That comment makes Philip’s blood boil and he punches Daniel in the gut. Daniel doubles over momentarily, then recovers and punches Philip in the eye. Lucas intervenes and slams Daniel against a wall. Lucas gets ready to punch Daniel in the face as Brady pulls Lucas away.
Brady: Hey hey hey, I think we’ve made our point.
Daniel: I’m charging you with assault.
Philip: Good, because I’m charging you with tampering with hospital records. You’ll lose your license.
Brady: Looks like we have a Cold War on our hands.
Daniel: Wait until Victor finds out how the three of you came after me.
Brady [to Lucas and Philip]: Andiamo amici. Let’s go.
