SHAWN-D: I want you to know that, no matter what happens, Claire will always be your daughter. Maybe...maybe not by biology, but by each other's heart. You've been her mother for as long as she's been alive. And whether you're her mother...or Jan is...you will always be her real mother. SALEM PLACE JAN: So, let me get this straight, you want me to help you destroy Shawn's uncle's relationship with Shawn's sister so that you can be with him instead of her? MORGAN: That's right. JAN: Okay. I'll do it. But, there's just one little thing I need to know. What's in it for me? What do I get out of this? MORGAN: I'll help you get Shawn. JAN: Oh, please. I already have a way to get Shawn. I'm his daughter's real mother, you know. MORGAN: Even if you are, that still doesn't mean that he'll leave Belle for you. JAN: Of course it does. Shawn, our daughter Shauna and I will be one big happy family forever. So, what's in it for me? MORGAN: Hollingsworth is a big name. I'll pay you any amount of money you want. Chapter 22 CULVER'S - SAUK CITY, WISCONSIN Claire and Ciara are sitting at a table, both are eating ice cream. CLAIRE: You feel any better? CIARA: Much. I just needed to get out for a little while and stretch my legs. I'm worried about you, though. How are you? Claire shrugged. CLAIRE: Okay, I guess. I just hate not knowing what's going on, if anything is. All of this waiting is driving me crazy! CIARA: Call your dad. Ask him what's going on. CLAIRE: Okay. Good idea. Claire got out her phone and dialed a number. SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Shawn-D's phone went off. SHAWN-D: Hello? Pause. SHAWN-D: Hey, Claire Bear. How's the trip so far? Pause. SHAWN-D: That's good. Pause. SHAWN-D: No, nothing yet. I promise, I'll call you as soon as I get the results. Maxine walked up to Shawn-D. MAXINE: You'll be keepin' that promise sooner than you think. She handed him a brown envelope. SHAWN-D: Thanks, Maxine. Okay, I've got the results in my hand. I'm about to open them. He opened the envelope and pulled out a paper. SHAWN-D: Oh god. CULVER'S - SAUK CITY CLAIRE: Daddy, what's... Pause. CLAIRE: Oh, god. Claire dropped her phone. |

Chapter 23 CERI'S BEDROOM Ceri and Sydney were laying on the bed, watching a movie. The movie was just ending. Click to watch the ending of the movie: CERI: I can't believe you've never seen this movie. SYDNEY: Well, my parents weren't exactly the type to show me Disney movies. First movie I ever saw was "How to Become an Evil, Mind Controlling Megalomaniac in 10 Days". CERI: So, what did you think? SYDNEY: It was okay. Cute, I guess. CERI: It's one of my favorites. It's really sad, but I love it! SYDNEY: It was okay. I guess...I don't know. CERI: What? SYDNEY: I don't want to hurt you. It's one of your favorite movies. CERI: You are allowed to have a different opinion than me, sweetie. So, go ahead, say it. Trust me, I've heard a lot of people's thoughts on this movie. SYDNEY: I guess it was just a little too cute. For me, at least. I mean, yeah, the ending was sad, but...I don't know. CERI: Well, the great thing about "The Fox and the Hound" is, like most Disney movies, it was based on a book. And the book is a lot less cute. It's also a lot more sad, but it's amazing! SYDNEY: Maybe if I read the book, I'd like it more. CERI: I just happen to have it. Ceri stood up, went over to a shelf, picked up a book, and handed it to Sydney. SYDNEY: Cool. I'll give it a read. Thanks. I love you. CERI: I love you. Sydney and Ceri kissed. OUTSIDE CULVER'S - SAUK CITY Claire was walking back to the car. She was in a state of shock. Ciara walked up behind her. CIARA: Claire? Claire, what's wrong? What did your dad say? CLAIRE: The test results are in. CIARA: And? CLAIRE: My whole life is a lie. The woman I thought was my mother isn't my mother at all. Jan Spears is my mother. |

Poor Claire is right, but just because Jan is her biological mother, doesn't mean that Belle isn't her mom...Belle is more of a Mom than Jan as she raised her from a baby...I hope that Claire doesn't have to suffer from this.
