Here we go!!! It's
Dancing with the Starrrrrrrsssssss!!!!! So, tonight, the Stars are the “Artistic Directors” of their routines. Essentially, that means the Pro is still choreographing, but the Stars have more say in how it's presented, the costumes and things like that. This should be..... interesting so let's get right to it.
Drew and Anna (CHA CHA) – Len said he wanted to be impressed this week. I'm not so sure this routine is going to do it. For some reason, I'm left feeling rather “Blah” after it's over. Like “Oh, honey. At least you tried.” Maybe it's just that Drew is NOT sexy to me and he's trying so hard to be. Sure, he's cute, but in a little brother type of way. I dunno. This just wasn't doing it for me. Some of the choreography was hectic and it didn't seem smooth; like they didn't realize that fake staircase was going to take up so much of the floor and then ended up smooshed up against it with no where to dance. Whatever. Nice effort, but I'm not feeling it. Sorry kid.
MY SCORE: 7 JUDGES SCORE: 8, 8, 8 = 24Gilles and Peta (TANGO) – FLYING FRENCHMAN!!! FLYING FRENCHMAN!!! Are we to gather from this routine that is “SO GILLES” that Gilles has nightmares about dancing with Peta? I can believe it. At least within the context of this competition. Hey, it's hard out there for a pimp. Anyway, Gilles sold the heck outta this routine. I believed that he was actually leading and it really looked like he was in total control. I loved it. Of course, he would have to stumble pretty hard for me to NOT like him, but this was really, REALLY good.
MY SCORE: 9 JUDGES SCORE: 8.5, 8.5, 8.5 = 25.5Melissa and Tony (SAMBA) – The tricks at the start were super cool and kudos to Melissa for holding her position whilst simultaneously not injuring her back or cracking her skull open on the floor. That's seriously hard to do. BUT, her actual Samba was not that good. Her hip action was non-existent and her back is waaaayyyy too stiff. She looks like a ballerina doing ballroom. They clearly spent too much time on tricks and not enough time on Samba movement. She's gonna have to loosen up if she's going to go much further.

Apollo and Karina (FOXTROT) – You know what? That was hotter than Gilles. Apollo went for freaking sexy and he got it!!! You go Apollo!!!! Yowza that was sexy. Everything about it was fantastic. His movement was good, the choreography was great, and it just all worked. Boy, did it work.

Kelly and Val (PASO DOBLE) – It's odd that Kelly would chose to do a dance that showcases the man (which is what Paso does), but I'm sure Val enjoyed it. (PS. I keep wanting to type Maks. Hahahaha!!!) Kelly seemed just slightly out of her depth with this routine. Too many turns, perhaps? It just felt, to me, like she was constantly searching for him and she seemed unsteady on her feet. I really wanted her to kill it, but she didn't.

Kirstie and Maks (CHA CHA) – Umm, who is that guy and what happened to Maks? That hair is out of control!! Too funny!!! Unfortunately, they were off time the ENTIRE dance. I think they may have started a tad too early and it just threw off the rest of the routine. Kirstie said she was going for the “fun” factor. I think they got that (with Maks looking so silly) but the “dance” part got a little left behind.
I know she's trying and she's having a blast (AND she's the oldest one there, HELLO!!) but this may be the end of the road for Kirstie, bless her heart.
MY SCORE: 7.5 (for Maks' hair) JUDGES SCORE: 8, 8, 8 = 24Sabrina and Louis (PASO DOBLE) – I still think she over dances sometimes, but that was a REALLY nice routine. Her form was good and they didn't rely on tricks to stand out. Overall, it was just a really nice Paso. I don't have too much to say about it.
MY SCORE: 8.5 JUDGES SCORE: 8.5, 8.5, 8.5 = 25.5Emmitt and Cheryl (PASO DOBLE) – I'm feeling like Emmitt isn't really taking this seriously anymore. Like if he goes home next, he won't really care. That makes it hard to cheer for him, IMO. His solo work was pretty good, but I'm not sure I bought the whole routine. It was just ok for me, dawg.

Helio and Chelsie (QUICKSTEP) – Conflicted feelings again. Yes, the routine was good, but for some reason I feel like it was just ok. Notwithstanding the huge messup towards the end (where it looks like he stepped on her skirt). I'm not sure why it didn't work for me, but it just didn't.
MY SCORE: 7.5 JUDGES SCORE: 8.5, 8.5, 8.5 = 25.5Bristol and Mark (PASO DOBLE) – (Still snarling.) Their rehearsal package was a mess. She threw a tantrum and stormed off. “You wish I was Shawn or...or....one of the other girls you've had that had talent. You don't think I'm any good.” Mark was, understandably, a bit pissed, but he still couldn't stop her from storming out. Obviously, the outburst had more to do with Bristol's insecurities than Mark's lack of faith in her, and she doesn't have the communication skills to express herself. Sad, but not surprising. As for their dance, I think I get what they were going for with the Ice Queen and killing the King/Prince at the end (Once Upon A Time anyone??) and the anger certainly seemed to be there, but can we PLEASE just put Bristol (and us) out of her (our) misery?? She wants to be gone. We want her gone. Please, just let her fly away to Alaska. Far, far away. Side note: the dance actually wasn't all that terrible (it was really simple steps) and, for once, Mark was smart about the choreography.

Shawn and Derek (QUICKSTEP) – Rules? We don't need no stinking rules!! Well, they wanted to do something the judges' have never seen before and I'd say they've done it. Was it Quickstep? **Shrugs** Ehhh. Do I care? **Shrugs again** Not so much. It pushed all the boundaries and in all the right ways. The little bit of Quickstep they did do was good, but it was hella entertaining and I'm going to allow it.

With this season going the way it's going, there's no way of knowing who's going home, so I won't hazard a guess. BUT I will send out a plea to the universe that it's Bristol that goes. Please please PLEASE let it be Bristol. Also, TWO people will be going home so that second spot is up for grabs.
