Prologue
Dick Dorkay, Executive Producer: Molly, we have a problem. A huuuge problem. Molly: Uh huh. Dorkay: What’s the matter? Don’t you even care? Molly: You always say there’s a huge problem. Usually, it turns out not to be that huge. Dorkay: Well, size doesn’t matter. But I need your help. Molly: With what? Dorkay: kpatch’s next story. It’s a mess. Molly: A mess? Dorkay: It has a really complicated plot with dozens of characters. It’s all over the place. Molly: That doesn’t sound like something kpatch would write. Dorkay: I think she’s off her meds. Or off her rocker. Or both. Molly: kpatch doesn’t usually want help with her stories though. Dorkay: I know I know I know, but she likes you. Why don’t you talk to her and see what you can find out?
Later ...
Molly: I found out about kpatch’s story. Dorkay: Go on. Molly: It’s a reunion story. That’s why there are so many characters. Dorkay: Can’t she cut it down? Molly: Well, she showed me some excerpts and... I think it will be okay. Dorkay: I don’t know. I’m still worried. Molly: That’s nothing new. You live in the state of Worried. Dorkay: Supposing you do some of the chapter intros ... you know, to help the readers follow along. Molly [rolling her eyes]: Dick, the readers aren’t stupid. You need to give them a little credit. Dorkay: I know I know I know. But but but... Molly: Stop stuttering and calm down, Dick. kpatch has actually asked me to do some intros. Dorkay [mopping his brow]: Whew. That’s a relief. Molly: Deep breaths, Dick. Sit down and relax. Have some sun tea and cappuccino pie while we show the previews.

BO AND HOPE’S KITCHEN
Bo: Good morning Fancy Face. Hey, what’s wrong? Are you crying? Hope [sniffle]: No. Bo: You ARE crying. What’s the matter? Hope: You know me. I just get this way at the end of the summer. Autumn is coming, the year is ending, the leaves are turning brown, everything is dying, and ... it makes me realize how fast time is passing. Bo: I know. Hope: And it makes me think about all the people I miss. Shawn, Belle, and Claire, Dad and Julie, Chelsea and Max, Kayla and Steve, Kimberly, Marlena and John.... Bo: That’s a long list. Hope: I’m just getting started. Bo: And, of course, there’s Zach. Hope: I miss him every day of my life. Bo: Me too. And I miss my sisters. Hope: Why do people have to leave? Why do they have to move away and live somewhere else? Bo: It’s just part of life, I guess. Hope: You’d better get going, Brady. You’re going to be late for your meeting with the City Manager. Bo: I hate to leave you like this. Hope: I’ll be fine. You go on. [Bo kisses Hope and leaves. She eyes the telephone, picks it up, and dials.] Hope: Kayla? It’s Hope.
[As Bo drives to City Hall, he makes a cell phone call.] Bo: Hey Roman, have you got time to meet me for lunch today? Yeah, the Pub would be great. See you around noon.

BRADY PUB
[Bo and Roman are seated at a table.] Bo: Ma, have you got a second to sit with us? Caroline: Of course. What’s going on? Bo: Hope is in a funk. Roman: Why? Bo: She sometimes gets this way toward the end of the summer. She starts to feel ... I don’t know ... Caroline: Wistful? Bo: Yeah. She misses Shawn, Belle, and Claire, her folks, Chelsea, Jennifer, Marlena. Caroline: And Zach. Bo: Zach died at the end of the year, and she always gets this dread feeling when the anniversary of his death is coming. Roman: What can WE do? Bo: I was thinking of surprising her. Roman: Not another wedding! Bo [laughs]: No. I was thinking of trying to get some of those folks I mentioned to come for a visit. Caroline: I would love that too! Bo: Will you guys help me put a little pressure on them? Caroline: You mean guilt? I think I can handle that. Bo: I’ll call Shawn, Doug, and Jennifer. Caroline: I’ll call Chelsea and Max. Roman: I’ll contact Marlena. Bo: Hey, I appreciate your help. Roman: No problem, little brother.
Bo [takes out his cell phone]: Jenn? Hi, it’s Bo.

THE BRADY KITCHEN
Hope: Kayla? It’s Hope. Kayla: Hi Hope. I was just thinking about you the other day. How are you and Bo and Ciara? Hope: Bo’s a little out of sorts. Kayla: Has he tried an enema? Hope: No, it’s not that. He’s a little depressed. He misses you guys. Kayla: Oh, that’s sweet. We miss you too. Hope: I was wondering ... Kayla: What? Hope: If you and Steve could come for a visit? Kayla: It’s funny you should say that. We were talking about coming to see Stephanie soon. You know she’s going through a really tough time because of the breakup with Philip. Hope: I know she would love to see you. Kayla: Did you have a specific date in mind? Hope: I was thinking about Labor Day weekend. I’m planning to call Kimberly next. Kayla: I was going to call her this morning anyway. Why don’t you let me give her a call? Hope: Do you think she’ll come? Kayla: I’m sure she will. The last time we spoke, she was feeling guilty that she hasn’t seen Mom in more than a year. Hope: This is so great! I’m getting really excited now. Kayla: Me too. I’ll call you back and let you know what Kim says. Hope: Thanks. Oh ... Kay, one other thing. Kayla: What is it? Hope: I’d like this to be a surprise for Bo. I want to see the look on his face when you and Kim walk through the door. Kayla: I love pulling the wool over Bo’s eyes. I won’t say a word. [Hope hangs up and gets a pensive look on her face.] Hope: Hmmm, I wonder. [She dials a number.] Shane? This is Hope Brady. No, no, everything’s fine. I was just hoping I could persuade you to make a little trip across the pond.
NBC STUDIOS
Molly: Who’s Shane? Dorkay: Shane Donovan. He was married to Kimberly, Bo’s oldest sister. Suave, handsome, English. Molly: He sounds like EJ. Dorkay: No no no no no no no no. Molly: What? What did I say? What’s the matter? Dorkay: I thought for a second you were going to be struck down by lightning. Molly: Why? Dorkay: I don’t think the fans would appreciate hearing you compare Shane to EJ. Molly: Why not? Dorkay: The fans loved Shane. He was a stand-up guy. As for EJ .... Molly: Say no more, Dick. I know all about EJ. And if you say too much, this thread will end up getting embroiled in controversy and we’ll have a lock-down. Dorkay: Let’s move on. Molly: I think that would be best.

NBC STUDIOS
Molly: I’m so excited! Dorkay: What about? Molly: This next scene. It’s going to be fantastic! Dorkay: What makes you say that? Molly: The legendary Jack Deveraux is in it. Dorkay: I thought he died. Molly: Duh. He did. Like a bezillion times. But he’s not dead now. ... Hey, I have an idea. Dorkay: We frown on those. Molly: Melanie and Jack should have scenes together. Oodles of them. They’d be a hoot! Dorkay: We frown on that too. This is a daytime drama, not a sitcom. What’s the next scene about? Molly: Hope invites Jennifer to come to the barbeque. Dorkay: Didn’t Bo already do that? Molly: You betcha. But Hope doesn’t know it.
THE BRADY RESIDENCE
Hope [on the phone]: Jenn, it’s Hope. Jennifer: Hope, I was just thinking about you! Hope: Really? Why? Jennifer: Um, no reason. Just happy to hear from you. Hope: I’m planning a surprise family reunion for Bo. Jennifer: You’re kidding. Hope: Why would I be kidding? Jennifer: Um. No reason. Hope: Is everything okay, Jenn? You sound a little weird. Jennifer: No, everything’s great. Just ... nothing, everything’s great. Hope: Could you, Jack and the kids come to visit on Labor Day weekend? Jennifer: Um, I think maybe we could. I’ll have to check Jack’s work schedule. I’ll call you later.
THE SALEM SPECTATOR, LONDON BUREAU
Jennifer: Houston, we have a problem. Jack: If you think we’re in Houston, you’re right, you DO have a problem. What’s the matter? Didn’t you file the Prince Harry interview in time? Jennifer: No, it’s not that. Remember I told you Bo wants us to come to the states to surprise Hope? Jack: Yeah, I’m checking flights on Priceline as we speak. Jennifer: Well, Hope is planning a surprise for Bo too. Jack: They’re both planning surprises ... but the other one doesn’t know it? Jennifer: Duh, dodo bird, that’s the definition of “surprise.” You know, Jack, we might be the only ones who know about both surprises. Jack: That’s bad. Jennifer: Why? Jack: You know I can’t keep a secret, Miss Horton. Jennifer: Jack Deveraux! You’d better keep this one, or I’ll kill you. Jack: You don’t scare me. I’ve been killed off more often than anyone else on the show.
CHELSEA AND MAX’s LONDON FLAT
Max [on the phone]: Hey Frankie, whassup man! Frankie: Hey, little brother. What’s going on? Max: I just got off the phone with Ma. Me and Chels are going to Salem for a visit over Labor Day and I figured ... since we’ll be in the states, maybe you could meet us there? Frankie: I’d love to see you and Ma. Sure. I’ll come.

SALEM SPECTATOR, LONDON BUREAU
Jennifer [dialing the phone]: Bo! Hi, it’s Jennifer. I have a question about the reunion. Bo: Shoot. Jennifer: I heard that Justin is in Salem and I was wondering if you were planning to invite him? Bo: No, I’m not. Jennifer: Yes, you have to. Bo: What? Why? Jennifer: I can’t say why. Not yet. But please, make sure he comes. Bo: OK, I’ll ask him. Jennifer: Thank you.
[She dials another number.] Jennifer: Adrienne? Hi, it’s Jennifer. Jack and I are going to be in Salem over Labor Day weekend. At Bo and Hope’s. I thought it would be fun if you could come too.
TITAN’S EXECUTIVE OFFICES
Bo: Is Justin Kiriakis here? Marie: I’ll buzz him, Commissioner. ... He says to go on in. Justin: Bo! Good to see you. Are you here on official business? Bo: No, I was just in the neighborhood and thought I’d say hi. Hey, listen man, I’m throwing a little surprise get-together on Labor Day and I wanted to know if you can come. Justin: Sounds like it’s not a surprise anymore. Bo [laughing]: No, the surprise isn’t for you. It’s for Fancy Face. Sort of a family reunion. Jack and Jennifer are going to be there too. Justin: Sure, I’d love to come. Thanks for asking. What’s the dress code? Can I bring anything? Bo: Nah, I’ve got it covered. It’s gonna be pretty casual ... a barbecue. Say, man, I was sorry to hear about your separation from Adrienne. Justin: Thanks. Bo: Any chance you’ll work things out? Justin: Well, I would never say never, but I... [changing the subject.] Hey, can I ask a favor? Bo: Sure. Justin: Would it be okay with you if I asked Uncle Victor to come to your barbecue? He’s been spending too much time by himself lately. Bo: Um, sure, I guess. I doubt he’d be interested in coming though. Barbecues aren’t really his thing. Justin: Maybe not, but I think he’d like to be asked. [Bo leaves.]
VICTOR’S OFFICE
Justin: Uncle Vic, do you have plans for Labor Day? Victor: Labor Day? Labor? It stands to reason that I’ll be working. Why? Justin: Why don’t you take the day off and come with me to Bo’s house? He’s having a barbeque. Victor: I see. I think not. Justin: Why not? Victor: If Bo wanted me there, he would have invited me himself. Justin: Of course he wants you there. Victor: Never kid a kidder, son. Bo never invites me to his home. He’s embarrassed to be associated with me. Justin: Come on, Uncle Vic. I know that’s not true. It’ll be fun. It’s actually a surprise party for Hope. Victor: What’s the occasion? Justin: I didn’t get the details. But Bo and Hope are known for their Brady Backyard Barbeques. It should be a smash. Victor: Well, I’ll have Marie check my calendar. Hmmm. Justin, do you think Bo would object to my bringing Philip along? He’s been awfully depressed since the breakup with Stephanie. Justin: I guess it would be okay. But it could be awkward. I don’t know for sure, but it’s possible that Stephanie will be there. Victor: That’s precisely what I’m counting on.
To be continued... Tune in for the start of the reunion!

THE BRADY BACKYARD
Bo: Thanks for coming over early to help set up, Ma, Maggie, Mickey. Roman: Am I chopped liver? Bo: No. Thank you too, bro. I appreciate everyone’s help. Say Ma, I gotta tell you something. Caroline: What is it? Bo: Victor is coming. Caroline: Victor! Why? Bo: Justin asked me if it would be okay and... I couldn’t say no. I’m sorry, Ma. Caroline: Oh fiddlesticks. Well, I’m not going to let Victor ruin my good time. There will be plenty of other people here. Bo: That’s true. You don’t even have to talk to Victor if you don’t want to. Roman: Bo, I think I just heard the doorbell. Want me to get it? Bo: No, I’ll get it.
FRONT DOOR
Bo: Abe, Lexie. Hey Theo, my man. Abe: Does Hope suspect? Hope: Does Hope suspect what? Abe: Um, I was just telling Bo that I hope the PD catches the suspects in that jewelry store theft ring. Bo: Come on out to the backyard, guys. [Bo, Hope and the Carvers head for the backyard.]
[The doorbell rings. Roman answers.] Roman: Doc! John! Come on in. Hey, you both look awesome, as Will would say. Marlena: Are Sami and Will here yet? Roman: When is Sami ever on time for anything? John: I just talked to Brady and he said he should be here within 15 minutes. Roman: Let’s go find Bo and Hope.
[The doorbell rings. Hope opens the door.] Hope: Dad! Julie! [Doug and Julie are dressed as migrant workers in honor of Labor Day. Hugs all around.] Doug: Surprise! Julie: Hello my darling. Hope: I wasn’t expecting you. This is so great. We’re having a little cookout and [lowers her voice] I’ve invited Kay, Kim, and Jennifer as a surprise for Bo. Let’s go out to the backyard.
Doorbell: Ding dong. Bo: I’ve got it. [Kayla, Steve, Joey, Adrienne, and Stephanie arrive.] Bo: Kay!!! Kayla: Don’t you have a hug for your big sister? [He gives Kayla a big bear hug, then hugs Steve, their children, and Adrienne.] Bo: Why didn’t you tell me you were gonna be in town? Steve: What kind of surprise would that have been, Dude? Bo: Surprise? I GIVE surprises, I don’t GET them. Kayla: Where’s Hope, is she out back? Bo: Yeah, come on. Doorbell: Ding dong. Bo: I’ll catch up with you. I gotta answer the door. Kimberly with her arms open wide: Oh boy! Is it ever good to see you, baby brother. Bo: Kimber! What the heck...?

THE BRADY RESIDENCE
FRONT DOOR
Doorbell: Ding dong. Hope: Chelsea! Chelsea: Hope! Max: Uh oh. Here come the waterworks. [Hope and Chelsea start crying.] Frankie: Let’s go find Ma.
Doorbell: Ding dong. Hope: Shawn! Belle! Claire! Now my day is perfect. Come here, you guys. [They all hug.]
Doorbell: Ding dong. Hope: Shane! Oh, it’s been too long. Shane: Indeed it has. But I must say that the years have been kind to you. Hope: Come on in and say hello to everyone. They’re gonna be so surprised to see you.
[All heads turn as Shane walks out to the backyard. Kimberly’s eyes widen as she sees Shane for the first time in years. Justin is stunned to see Adrienne. At the same time, Jack, Jennifer, Jack Jr., and Abby walk from the front yard into the backyard.]
Jack: Surprise!

BRADY BACKYARD
Jack: Steverino! Steve: Jackson! Whassup Dude? Jack: I gotta ask you a question. Steve: Shoot. Jack: I’m the baby brother, right? Steve: Last time I checked. Jack: So why is it that I’m getting older and you keep looking younger every time I see you? If I went into your attic, would I find a picture of Old Man Patch? Steve: Hah! It’s no secret, Dude. I just take care of myself. Work out. Eat right. Jack: I don’t know where you find the time. Steve: S’easy Dude. Just let Jenn do the 9 to 5 thing, and you go to the gym. Jack: Do you know what Jennifer would do to me if I even suggested that? I’d be in deep doo doo.
Frankie: Hey Jenn! Jennifer [hugs Frankie]: Frankie! I’m so happy to see you. Frankie: You look awesome, just as beautiful as ever. Jennifer: Frankie, stop. You’ll make me blush. Frankie: How’s life in the big city? Jennifer: London is a lot different than Salem. And the people are so different. They’re not interested in hard news. All they want to read about is the royal family ... But enough about me. How are you doing? Frankie: I can’t complain.
Chelsea: I haven’t seen you in ages. Abby: I know. Hard to believe we live in the same city now. Chelsea: I guess you’re keeping pretty busy. Abby: You can say that again. Chelsea: Work or social? Abby: Um, a little of each. I’m having an absolute blast working with my parents at the Spectator. Chelsea: OK, what’s his name? Abby: What’s who’s name? Chelsea: The guy. Whoever it is you’re dating. Abby: Oh. Sorry, I can’t tell you. Chelsea: You what??? I’m your best friend. What do you mean you can’t tell me? Abby: OK, OK. I’ll tell you. But you can’t say anything to anyone. Chelsea: Cross my heart. Abby: His name is … well, it starts with Prince and it ends with William. Chelsea: Prince ... Prince William???
Sami: John looks great. It seems like he’s recovering nicely. Marlena: Sven is a miracle worker. Sami: Sven? Marlena: He’s the best physical therapist in Switzerland. Maybe all of Europe.
Philip [holding Claire on his lap]: I’ve missed you, little one. Belle: How’s life treating you, Philip? Philip: Couldn’t be better. Belle: Philip, it’s me. I can see that you’re lying. Philip: I’d rather not talk about it. Belle: Hang in there. Things will turn around. Hey, Claire-bear, wanna go see Grampa John? Claire: Yeah!
John: Seeing anyone, Brady? Brady: I’ve got my eye on a couple people. John: In other words, when I need to know, you’ll tell me. Belle: Look who’s here to see her Grampa. [Claire jumps into John’s arms.]

John: You are getting so big, Claire. You must be in college by now. Claire [sitting on John’s lap]: Uh uh. Oneth grade. John: Oh. Oneth grade. You have to be very smart to be in oneth grade. You must take after your grampa. Claire: Uh huh. I have something for you, Grampa John. John: Lemme see. A juice box! You remembered! [He squeezes her tight.]
Max: So, what do you want me to call you after me and Chelsea get married? Pop? Dad? Pop Bo? Bo Pop? Bo: Wait a second… are you saying... ? Max: I’m gonna ask Chelsea to marry me. With your blessing, of course. Bo: Wow, I can’t believe it. It seems like only yesterday that… You’ll have to ask for Billie’s blessing too. Max: I already did. And Ma’s. So, your answer would be… Bo: You got it man. I couldn’t hope for a better ... um ... son-in-law. Max: Thanks Pop! Bo: Don’t push it. [Chelsea walks up.] Chelsea: What are you two talking about? Max: Old times. Ya know. Bo [puts his arm around Chelsea]: Hey kiddo. How’s your mother? Chelsea: She’s doing a lot better. Marlena recommended this fantastic physical therapist named Sven and he’s working wonders. [Hope comes over.] Hope: Max, Chelsea, would you excuse us. I need to talk to Bo for a minute. Max: No problem.
Hope: So, Brady, is there anything you want to tell me? Bo: Uh. [Sheepishly:] “Surprise”? Hope: Surprise indeed, as Shane would say. I was trying to surprise YOU! Bo: And you did! I never expected to see Kay and Kimber. Not to mention Shane... Hope: And I never expected to see Shawn and Belle, and Marlena and John, and ... Bo: You were so depressed a couple weeks ago. I just wanted to make you happy. Hope: You did. You always do. Bo: I love you Fancy Face. [They kiss.] Hope: What about Jenn and Jack? You didn’t seem surprised to see them. Bo: Neither did you. Are you saying ...? Hope and Bo [in unison]: I invited them. Hope: Why those little sneaks. Bo: At least there’s someone in the family who knows how to keep a secret. Where IS Jennifer anyway? I haven’t seen her. Hope: I saw her talking to Frankie a little while ago, but I haven’t seen her since. I wonder where she went. Bo: Uh oh. Hope: What’s wrong? Bo: Some of our guests look angry.
Victor [to Caroline]: It’s obvious I’m making you uncomfortable. I’ll just take my leave.
Adrienne: Well, if he’s here, I’m leaving. Justin: No, you stay, I’ll go.
Shane: My apologies, Kimberly, I didn’t mean to upset you. I’d best be going. Kimberly: Yes, it WOULD be best if you left.
Stephanie: Why did you even come? Philip: I was hoping you’d be here. I need to talk to you. Stephanie: Well, you shouldn’t have come. I have to get out of here.
Jack [whistling loudly]: No one is leaving yet. Jennifer is coming back and she has a big surprise for everyone. [Jennifer arrives and stands at the entrance to the back door facing everyone in the backyard.] Jennifer: Can I have everyone’s attention? [Alice appears in the doorway.]

Dorkay: What’s with the tears? Molly: I’m all ferklempt. Dorkay: Well, cut it out. I hate tears. Molly: It’s just that we hardly get to see Alice anymore, and it makes me feel all sentimental. Dorkay: Wait a second. You never knew Alice. Molly: I know. But she’s woven into the fabric of Days of Our Lives. So I feel like I know her. Dorkay: She would have liked you. Molly: Liked who? Molly or Melanie? Dorkay: Both. Melanie is like a young Jennifer, and Alice always had a special relationship with her granddaughters. I could just picture the two of you together. Molly: Now who’s getting all sentimental? Dorkay: Nonsense! Now now now ... now get back to work.

Jack [whistling loudly]: No one is leaving yet. Jennifer is coming back and she has a big surprise for everyone. [Jennifer arrives and stands at the entrance to the back door facing everyone in the backyard.] Jennifer: Can I have everyone’s attention? Look who I found.
[Alice appears in the doorway of the house facing the backyard. She is leaning on her walker. Hope and Julie rush up to hug her and help her to a seat.]
Hope: Gran, I’m so happy you felt up to coming! Come sit. Alice: I wouldn’t miss this for the world, my darlings. Julie: Gramma, you look wonderful. Alice: And so do you and Doug, but ... Maggie: But what, Alice, what’s wrong? Alice: As I look around, I see a lot that’s wrong. Quite a lot. Jennifer: Like what, Gran? Alice: Some people here are squandering life’s greatest gift. Bo: What gift is that, Mrs. H? Alice: Why, love, of course.
[The backyard gets quiet as everyone turns to listen to Mrs. H.] Alice: There are people here who should be together, but they’re not. Doug: I’m not sure what you mean, Alice. Alice: My eyesight may not be quite what it used to be, Doug, but I’m not blind. [She looks over at Shane, Kimberly, Justin, Adrienne, Philip and Stephanie.] These foolish people are squandering the greatest gift. And why? Do they think love is going to come along again so easily? Bo: Don’t get excited, Mrs. H. Alice: I will not sit here and keep quiet when I see something so wrong. I was married to the love of my life for 50 years. You -- Bo and Hope -- you’ve stuck together through good times and bad times. That’s the right way to live. Not running off at the first sign of adversity. No, my darling children ... if you have love, you have everything. Lucas: Then why is love so hard? Alice: No one said that love would be easy, my darling. It isn’t. But it’s worth fighting for.

Justin [walks over to Adrienne]: I apologize for my reaction earlier. It’s just that I wasn’t expecting to see you here. Adrienne: I didn’t know you’d be here either, or I wouldn’t have come. Justin: I wasn’t implying that you don’t belong here. It’s a free country. Adrienne: I don’t like your tone of voice, Justin. Justin: Here we go again. Just add that to the list of things you don’t like about me anymore. Adrienne: Where did you get the idea that I don’t like you anymore? Justin: Hmmm. Could it be the constant criticism? Adrienne: I’m sorry. Justin: What? Adrienne: I said I’m sorry. You’re right. I’ve been awful to you. It’s probably the perimenopause. Justin: You’re too young to be in menopause. Adrienne: Some women go through it early. Anyway, the doctor put me on some hormones and... [Justin grabs Adrienne and kisses her.]
Lucas: Where’s Ralph? Sami: It’s Rafe. He couldn’t come. He had to work. Lucas: I’d say that’s too bad, but I’d be lying. Sami: What’s THAT supposed to mean? Lucas: He’s always buzzing around you like a bumble bee. I never get to talk to you alone anymore. Sami: Then we should make a point of getting together now and then ... maybe next time I bring Allie over. Lucas: Maybe we could get a babysitter. Sami: Huh? What do you mean? Lucas: I mean, maybe we could go out together some time. Just the two of us. Sami: Like on a .... Lucas: Like on a date. Sami: Wow, I didn’t see that one coming. Lucas: You heard what Mrs. H said. She’s right, you know. You shouldn’t squander ... Sami: ... true love. Lucas: That’s right.

THE BRADY KITCHEN
Bo: What are you all doing in here? You’re supposed to be guests. Kim: Ma and Kay are helping me make make my world-famous potato salad. Bo: I haven’t had your potato salad in like 20 years. [He takes a potato chunk out of the bowl with his fingers.] <Slap> Ouch! No need for violence, Kimber. Kim: Well, get your grubby little hands out of there, little brother. Bo: Sorry. [Roman enters.] Roman: Are you having a family reunion without me? Caroline: We could never have a reunion without my firstborn. Kayla: This is the first time we’ve all been together in ages. Caroline [choking up]: My heart is ... so happy. If only your father were here. [The four Brady kids gather around Caroline and share a group hug, as Shane walks in.]
Shane: So sorry. I didn’t mean to intrude on a family moment. Bo: Well, you’re still family, Shane. We’re really glad you came. Aren’t we, Kimber? [Bo motions to Caroline, Roman, and Kayla to leave the room with him.]
Shane: Alone at last. Kim: And still as charming as ever. Shane: So I haven’t lost my touch? Kim: I just want to concentrate on my potato salad. Shane: It’s too bad Andrew and Jeannie couldn’t come. Kim: They have lives of their own now. That sometimes happens when the kids grow up. Shane: I miss them. I miss you too. Kim: Shane, I can’t take a ride on that merrygoround anymore. Shane: Then let’s get off the ride, Kimberly, but together, not apart. Kim: I don’t know what to say. Shane: Say yes, darling. I’ve squandered far too many years without you. [He kisses her passionately as Bo walks in.] Bo [clearing his throat]: Don’t mind me. Hope sent me in here to get the potato salad. [Kim continues to kiss Shane while handing the potato salad bowl to Bo.] Bo: Thanks Kimber. Hey, it looks like this reunion barbecue has sparked some private reunions too. [He winks and walks out the back door.]

BRADY BACKYARD
Victor: Caroline, I want you to know that I am no longer interfering in my son’s and your granddaughter’s business. Whatever happens, happens. It’s up to them. Caroline: You realize I’m against Stephanie and Philip reuniting. Victor: I understand. But I think we should let nature take its course -- one way or the other. Caroline: I won’t interfere either. Victor: Then we have a deal? [He extends his hand and Caroline takes it, smiling.] Caroline: The rest is in the lord’s hands.
Sami: I’m so glad to have a chance to spend time with you, Mom. Marlena: Me too. But it never seems like enough. Say, I have an idea. Sami: What? Marlena: Why don’t you come to Switzerland to visit? Sami: I don’t think so. Marlena: Why not? Sami: The kids need me. Marlena: They can manage without you for a few weeks. Sami: I really could use a little time away. Things have been so crazy this past year. Marlena: I think it would do you a world of good. It would be like therapy. Sami: Then I just might do it.
Frankie: Ma, you look amazing. Ma: Me? Look at you! You handsome devil. How come some girl hasn’t snapped you up yet? Frankie: Don’t worry, Ma. I haven’t given up.
[Bo is at one of three barbecue grills, Shawn D. is at the second and Jack is at the third. They are flipping burgers when Victor walks over.] Victor: How do you do that? Shawn: Do what? Victor: Toss those things. Bo: It’s called flipping burgers. Jack: Bo! Watch your language! Bo: Wanna try it? Victor: Thank you, no. I would end up dropping it on the ground. Jack: So what? Bo’ll just throw it back on the grill like always. Bo: Very funny. Come on, Victor. Give it a try. I’ll show you how. [He hands Victor a spatula as Caroline and Stephanie watch from one of the tables.] Stephanie: Are you okay, Grandma? You look all teary-eyed. Caroline: I’m fine. It’s just... Frankie: What is it, Ma? Caroline: That’s a sight I never thought I’d see. Bo teaching his father how to grill hamburgers. It’s ... heartwarming. Stephanie [puts her arm around Caroline]: Aw, that’s sweet, Grandma. [Philip walks up to the table.] Philip: Steph, can I talk to you for a minute? Stephanie: I’m busy. Caroline: It’s alright. You go ahead.
