The interview with Jay made me want to go back and read the story again, especially when he said he still gets chills down his spine. I'm really glad Jay wasn't too busy to be interviewed!
Andre, could you post a link to each story you are mentioning so we can go back and read the story?

Salem Beauty (or, A Few Good Salemites) myhourglass.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=generalauthors&action=display&thread=2586&page=1SOUNDTRACK: "Don't Let it Bring You Down" by Annie Lennox "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler INTRODUCTION ANDRE DIMERA (Writer): Though the Jan Spears saga had been completed, there were still a few minor storylines in that saga that I had yet to tie up. So, I took the opportunity and made the final story to bet set in the same canon as the Jan Spears saga. RETURNING CHARACTERS ANDRE DIMERA: The three biggest returning characters to be brought back were Kurt, Greta, and Princess Gina. Tony DiMera and Mia were two other returns for this story. Technically, all of the other characters had appeared in previous stories set in this same canon, so Shawn-D and Belle and others can't be counted as returning. KRISTIAN ALFONSO (Hope Brady and Princess Gina): Playing a dual role is always fun. I love the character of Princess Gina. She's a very fun character to try and get into. I had a great time. STORYLINES ANDRE DIMERA: Abby's still really p!$$ed at her dad about "anbandoning" her. So much so that she convinces Chad to kill him off. But, when she realizes what she'd done, she is filled with regret. Luckily, it's all a dream. KATE MANSI (Abby Deveraux): I really didn't like Abby in this story. She was horrible to her dad, even worse than she was in the actual show at the time. But, I'm really glad that it was only a dream, because if that was real, I don't know what Abby would have done. ASHLEY BENSEN (Abby Deveraux): I came back to film Abby for one scene, which took place when she woke up from the dream. And, it was great to be back working with Matt (Ashford), even though it was just for one scene. He is an awesome guy! ANDRE DIMERA: Meanwhile, Mia returns to Salem and asks Will to help her find her real father. Help comes from the newly ressurected Tony DiMera, who knows a secret about Mia's parentage. THAAO PENGHLIS (Tony DiMera): This is the second time in André (DiMera, of My Hourglass)'s stories that Tony has become Mia's father. I'm beginning to see a bit of a pattern. I loved being back on the set. And, I loved working with Taylor (Sprietler) again. She's a wonderful young lady. ANDRE DIMERA: Also, Cynthia announces that she and Philip have a child together, and Philip and Melanie try to prove her wrong. Help comes in the form of Chloe, who finds out that there is no child and it is a scam by Cynthia and Jason to get money out of Philip. VERONICA LAUREN (Cynthia Austin): I always wondered what Cynthia would be like in the modern day. And, I could really see this happening. She's always been into Philip for his money. So, I could easily see her and Jason teaming up to get a piece of the pie. the cat fight that she has with Chloe was really coming for a long time. Ever since high school, Cynthia's been torturing the poor girl. And, those old feelings bubbled to the surface very quickly when she found out what Cynthia was doing. MOLLY BURNETT (Melanie): I loved getting to see the tougher side of Melanie again. I've missed Tough Girl Mel for so long now! The way she handled Cynthia at the end...brilliant! ANDRE DIMERA: Finally, Hope, John, Belle, and Greta are kidnapped by a mysterious English man. Turns out that he's not even their real captor. The real villain is Princess Gina. However, after a very heroic entrance from Bo and Shawn-D, everybody is rescued. PETER RECKELL (Bo Brady): He's back! The tough guy, leather jacket wearing, motorcycle riding Bo Brady is back! I think that they even played his theme when he and Shawn-D rescued everybody. It was great to be back playing that side of Bo. I missed playing that side of him! JASON COOK (Shawn-Douglas Brady): I know Shawn-D's rode motorcycle before, but it's been a while. it was great to be back, and to be riding alongside Peter (Reckell) who almost literally rode into Salem for the first time on one. All of the cast had a really great time on set. We loved it! CLIFFHANGER? ANDRE DIMERA: This story is meant to be the closing of this canon. However, I felt that I had to leave it open for more in case I wanted to go back and use this canon again. So, there is an extra scene that was shown at the very end. Stefano has been kidnapped by Princess Gina and is being held captive at a rebuilt Maison Blanche. Will this ever be resolved, who knows? Maybe I'll be writing a sequel.

Days of Blackadder's Life - The Lost Story SOUNDTRACK Theme from "The Black Adder" INTRODUCTION ANDRE DIMERA (Writer): This is the second story that I've written but never actually released, even though I had planned to release it and even announced that I would. I later had to go back and say that I wouldn't release it. Though several of my stories had crossovers from Fringe, I wanted this to be the first full-blown crossover. And, this time, it would crossover with the British historical comedy Blackadder. STORYLINE ANDRE DIMERA: The story would heavily feature Kinsey. Nobody liked Kinsey, but I loved to hate her. She was just so annoying. It would also feature E.J., but not as heavily. It would also feature modern day versions of the characters from Blackadder. I even got as far as doing rehersals on the story with the cast. From Blackadder, I got Rowan Atkinson (Edmund Blackadder), Tony Robinson (S. Baldrick), Tim McInnerny (Darling), Hugh Laurie (George), Stephen Fry (Melchett), and Rik Mayall (Lord Flashheart). ROWAN ATKINSON (Edmund Blackadder): The whole story would involve Blackadder coming to Salem. And, he, as always, would have a slimy, cunning plan about how to make it to the top of the proverbial ladder. And he does this using one of the citizens of Salem. HUGH LAURIE (George): There is a portion of the script that was set in England. I think about half of it would be set there, and the first half would be set in Salem. It was interesting, first off going back to Blackadder, and second working on a serialised show like Days of Our Lives. TONY ROBINSON (S. Baldrick): It's just sad that the crossover wasn't filmed, because I really liked the premise and the script. CANCELLATION ANDRE DIMERA: Why was it cancelled? I think for the same reason as my earlier story "Summer Nights" was cancelled. I had everything set for the story, except for the ending. Because I couldn't figure out an ending, I didn't broadcast it. However, I've rcently had a renewed interest in Blackadder, as well as this crossover story. So, will the Days/Blackadder crossover ever be aired? Only time will tell.

Well, I sure hope it will be aired. You've got me so curious. Maybe if you don't finish it, it could just end with a cliffhanger, or you could ask the readers how they'd like to see it end. It would be an interactive fic.

Summer Breeze myhourglass.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=generalauthors&action=display&thread=2766&page=1SOUNDTRACK: "Summer Breeze" by Seals and Crofts INTRODUCTION ANDRE DIMERA (Writer): This was a story I had wanted to tell for a long, long time. And, until earlier this year, I wasn't sure how to tell it. This story took bits and pieces from an earlier story, the first of my two "lost" stories, "Summer Nights". But, it was much darker than its cancelled predacessor. And, I found it a lot more enjoyable to write. RETURNING CHARACTERS ANDRE DIMERA: This story had a big cast. So, it was only natural that a lot of the returnining cast members came back. Because of the time frame that this story was set in, some of the characters had aged and were played by different actors. The returning cast was: Philip Kiriakis, Joey Johnson (now a teen), Jack Deveraux Jr. (also a teen), Nicholas Alamain, Chloe Lane, Parker Kiriakis (now a pre-teen), Vivian Alamain, Ivan, and Susan Adamson. And, that Susan is the one from the Last Blast era, not E.J.'s mother. JENNIFER GEE (Susan Adamson): I don't remember whether or not I came back for the Last Blast reunion that André (DiMera, of MyHourglass) wrote. I think I was. And, I loved coming back for this story. I loved working with Diedre Hall! She is amazing! And, even though this scene was cut, I also got to work with Liana (Liberato), who played Sydney, and that was a lot of fun. ANDRE DIMERA: Although these can't all be classified as returning characters, all of the current children of the show were aged to teens. The teens in this storyline are: Joey, J.J., Ciara, Claire, Allie, Sydney, Parker, Johnny, and our two new characters, Nicholas' daughters, Ceri and Rhiannon. LIANA LIBERATO (Sydney DiMera): When I first played Sydney as a teen in "A Christmas Carol", I was asked if I would ever come back if they needed teenaged Sydney again. And, I was more than happy to. Less than a month later, I was back on set filming "Summer Breeze". STORYLINE ANDRE DIMERA: The first part of the storyline that I knew I wanted to do was to have Sydney have Multiple Personality Syndrome. That was the first idea I got. And, I wanted to make it so that she technically killed E.J. after everything he'd done to her, but that in a way she didn't, because she did it while one of her "others" was in control. LIANA LIBERATO: A lot of the script was toned down. I remember getting the original draft and it was even more dark than it was before. And, I think it's mainly due to the fact that, in the original, Sydney actually went into what E.J. did to her, whereas in the final product, it's just heavily implied. But still, I really, really enjoyed being in this storyline. And, playing a very dark version of a character that, after seeing all that's happened to her, you would hope would be sweet. And, in truth, she is. Her "others" just aren't so nice. DIEDRE HALL (Marlena Evans): The decision to give Sydney DID worked very well, in my opinion. When you have a character who's gone through a huge amount of trauma in a very short amount of time, bear in mind that in this story Sydney is supposed to be 15 at the oldest, it has to affect them in some way. And, for Sydney, she couldn't cope with everything, so that's why she developed DID. And because it is a syndrome, there is no cure. However, by the end of this story, Sydney is on medications to control it. ANDRE DIMERA: I also created a double love story with J.J. falling in love twice. First with Ceri and then her twin Rhiannon. REBECCA ROSSO (Rhiannon Alamain): Rhiannon was in love with J.J. long before he was in love with her. I can't say that it was love at first sight, because I don't believe in that, but, from the script, I know that Rhiannon had a big crush on him, even when they first met. CAMILLA ROSSO (Ceri Alamain): Ceri comes off as kind of cold at first. She likes J.J. as a friend, but doesn't like him the way he likes her. But, it's not until we figure out that Ceri likes girls that we understand why she was being cold. She was trying not to encurage J.J. from getting too close and ending up hurt. Because, she does care about J.J., just not in a romantic way. ANDRE DIMERA: I also had Nicholas have a love affair with Chloe in the past and try to rekindle the old flame. Chloe eventually says no. And, it all ends with Philip and Nicholas duking it out on the basketball court. VICTOR WEBSTER (Nicholas Alamain): When I first read that we were going to a basketball court, I thought we were actually playing a game. But, instead, we ripped off our shirts, and just started acting like we were punching each other. Which was great fun. JAY KENNETH JOHNSON (Philip Kiriakis): Victor (Webster) and I got really into it. We weren't really punching each other, of course, but we were having fun. Plus, I don't wanna brag, but I think our shirtless fist fight upped the ratings a bit. CLIFFHANGER ANDRE DIMERA: By the end, Philip and Nicholas have made up, Rhiannon and J.J. are together, and Sydney is starting to get better. I went on a vacation to Australia and New Zealand, so I put the next story on hold for about a month. When I returned, I had written a sequel to "Summer Breeze" and it actually began where this story left off. In the very last chapter, Ceri and Sydney meet. It's not blatently obvious, but there is a bit of a love connection forming between those two. And, this was explored more in the next story.

Summer Breeze II - The End of Summer myhourglass.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=generalauthors&action=display&thread=3224&page=1SOUNDTRACK: "Summer Breeze" by Seals and Crofts "We Built This City" by Starship "Danny's Song" by Gator Creek "More Than a Woman" by the Bee Gees INTRODUCTION ANDRE DIMERA (Writer): I returned from Australia and New Zealand with a bunch of ideas and I set to work writing them. I wanteed to continue where I'd left off, with Sydney and Ceri meeting and falling in love. However, I also had a few other tricks up my sleeve. RETURNING CHARACTERS ANDRE DIMERA: Like it's predacessor, "The End of Summer" had several returning characters. They were: Joy Wesley (now in her mid-20s), Dr. Baker, Shawn-D and Belle Brady, Stephanie Johnson, Susan Banks, Mia McCormick, and André DiMera. Two more aged children joined the cast: Theo (now 20) and Joy (25). BRIE LARSON (Joy Wesley): Joy was an interesting character to play. There are several things that we don't know about her yet. And, I hope that, if more stories are written in this future storyline, that Joy is developed a bit more. EILEEN DAVIDSON (Susan Banks): I knew that I was coming back as Kristen for Days in October. But, I was called in a little early to play Susan for André (DiMera, of MyHourglass). And, i missed playing Susan. It was fun. STORYLINES ANDRE DIMERA: I started off with the idea of a summer beach party. Something where I could get a large part of the cast together and just have fun. And, we all had a really great time. I even ended up writing in myself as the D.J. for the party, because I currently have a part time job as a radio D.J. And, we had an awesome time! It was great! The party lasted all night long and I had all of the actors stay in character and do things that they would do. Sadly, some of the best stuff wasn't caught on camera. JAY KENNETH JOHNSON (Philip Kiriakis): The beach party was great. And, I loved being given the acting exercise to stay in character all night long. That was great! We had a ball! And, of course, since it was a beach party, that meant more shirtless scenes. And, I love how in the very first chapter, Melanie rips my shirt off. Starting the whole story with Molly (Burnett) ripping my shirt off, that was great! I think André (DiMera, of MyHourglass) told me to do most of chapters like that, without my shirt on, due to ratings from my shirtless fist fight with Victor (Webster) in the previous story. LIANA LIBERATO (Sydney DiMera and Grace): The beach party was great. Except for Sydney. She got a freaked when Johnny revealed that he had created a Sydney clone and named her Grace. And, in all honesty, I'm not surprised that it freaked her out. Grace has been a really touchy subject in her family for as long as she's been alive. ANDRE DIMERA: I also wanted to focus on the growing relationship between Ceri and Sydney that began at the end of the previous story. Throughout this story, Ceri and Sydney both end up helping each other. For Ceri, it's helping Sydney through a panic attack and comforting her after the Grace fiasco. And, for Sydney, it was helping Ceri through being trapped in an elevator. CAMILLA ROSSO (Ceri Alamain): I'm very glad that I'm not claustrophobic. But, it was interesting to play a character who is. And, I think Liana (Liberato) did really well in that scene. LIANA LIBERATO (Sydney DiMera): Because of what's happened with her parents, Sydney's afraid to fall in love for most of this story. However, by the end, she realizes that Ceri will do just about anything for her and would never hurt her. And, she feels the same way about Ceri. So, by the end of the story, Sydney finally feels comfortable enough to express her feelings for Ceri. ANDRE DIMERA: Both of the girls did a marvelous job. I loved writing for Sydney and Ceri, especially once I saw them acting together. But, as most of my stories do, it ends with a twist. André (the character, not me) is alive and, as always, is going crazy. THAAO PENGHLIS (André DiMera): It was good to be back and play André again. I haven't played him in a long while. And, as much as I love playing Tony, it's always a bit more fun to be a baddie. I only had one scene in this story, but I would be back in full swing in the next story. CLIFFHANGER ANDRE DIMERA: The major cliffhanger was Roman's death, which leads onto the next story. Also, Johnny was sent to live with his grandmother, Susan Banks, but at the end of the story, Sydney gets a calling card that looks a little too familiar to her. Both of those cliffhangers would be explored in the next story, which I think is my longest story to date.
