Okay, I think the above is the funniest thing I've ever heard Melanie say.
I've got to agree with the others about the dangers of trusting a "charming" man with Salem ties. I couldn't relax and enjoy the pool scene because I was too busy fussing at Melanie for trusting a complete stranger who was luring her out into deep waters (literally) when she can't swim.
Fun chapters though all the same ... and I also loved the Louise Jefferson reference.

Chapter 5 DOCTOR'S OFFICE The next morning, Hope went to see her doctor. HOPE: I need more sleeping pills. DOCTOR: Another refill? Hope, I can't keep giving you refills. HOPE: Please? Just one more? DOCTOR: All right. One more, then that's it. These pills are dangerous. They can make you do things you never thought you'd do. HOPE: You said that was only in certain, rare cases. DOCTOR: It is. But the more you take them, the more likely it is the side-affects will affect you. The doctor hands Hope the prescription written out on the paper. HOPE: Well, I'll be careful. Hope walks out of the doctor's office. Just after she left, the phone rang. DOCTOR: Hello? MAN (over phone): Did she come in today? DOCTOR (with a European accent): Yes, she just left. MAN (over phone): And she took the bait? DOCTOR (with accent): Hook, line, and sinker, Mr. Alamain. SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Melanie and Adam walk in. ADAM: Melanie, what are we doing at the hospital? Are you sick or something? MELANIE: No, it's not that. I just figured that, since you and I talked about the possibility of dating on the way back to Salem, that I would introduce my future boyfriend to my mother and father. ADAM: I thought you said it was too soon after your divorce to even think about having a boyfriend. MELANIE: Well, it is kinda sudden. But, you only have one life. You need to tell people how you feel about them before it's too late. And, I think I might love you. ADAM: Well, Ms. Melanie Layton, guess what? I think I might love you, too. Melanie and Adam kiss. At that very minute, Carly walks up. CARLY; What are you doing here?!

Whoa! That's fast., Mel. I'm guessing that Adam isn't really Adam...and Melanie is going to lose her future boyfriend. Way to grab my attention...Mr Alamain? Mr Alamain!!!! Now why would he be interested in drugging Hope? Revenge? Can't wait for tomorrow's chapter; they are just too short and the days are just too long.

Oh wow, the plot is thickening. A doctor with an accent? Could it be Dr. Rolf?
And I say whoa Melanie too. What happened to once bitten, twice shy? Or something like that.
Great chapter. Thanks Andre.

Next Week on "This Charming Man"... ADAM: I have a confession to make. CARLY: I have questions. And number one is this: what in the name of sanity are you doing back in Salem? SHAWN-D: Stay away from my family! VIVIAN: Good to see you, darling. VIVIAN: It's time to avenge our dearly departed Lawrence...

Chapter 6 SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MELANIE: Hi, mom. CARLY: (to Melanie) Hi, Melanie. (To Adam) What are you doing here? MELANIE: I decided to end my vacation a little early. Aren't you happy to see me? CARLY: Of course I'm happy to see you, honey. It's your...friend that I'm not happy to see. MELANIE: But, why aren't you happy to see Adam, mom? CARLY: “Adam”? So, you're calling yourself Adam now? ADAM: Well, that is my name, yes. CARLY: I need to talk to you. Melanie, stay here. “Adam” and I need to have a little chat. Carly walks off, Adam follows. BO & HOPE'S HOUSE Hope goes over to Bo's house. This is regular Hope, not Nighttime Hope. She opens the door and sees Bo lying on the floor in a puddle of blood. HOPE: No! Hope gets out her cell phone and dials “911”. HOPE: Hello, this is Detective Hope Brady. There's been an accident. My husband, Bo Brady, appears to have been stabbed! We need an ambulance at 519 Scuttle Hole Road! SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL We see Adam with a somber look on his face. CARLY: You can see why I don't exactly approve of it. You and Melanie, I mean. ADAM: Yes, I can. And I agree. If I had known... CARLY: How could you have? You thought that she was dead. ADAM: Yes, well, I have to tell her. Melanie walks in. MELANIE: Tell me what? ADAM: Ah, Melanie. Just the girl I wanted to see. MELANIE: Adam, what's going on here? ADAM: I have a bit of a confession to make. MELANIE: So soon in our relationship? ADAM: Yes, and our relationship has something to do with that confession. CARLY: I think I'll leave you two alone for a little bit. Carly walks out. MELANIE: Well, Adam, whatever it is, you can tell me. I'll understand. ADAM: You know how I told you that I had family in Salem? MELANIE: Yeah. ADAM: Well, I do. My mother and my great-aunt live here. And, I've just learned that my sister lives here as well. MELANIE: You have a sister? ADAM: A half-sister. Same mother. MELANIE: Well, who is your half-sister? ADAM: You are. MELANIE: What? ADAM: Melanie, I'm not exactly who you think I am. My name isn't Adam Cartright. MELANIE: Well, I kind of figured that. So, tell me, what is your real name? ADAM: My name is Nicholas. Nicholas Alamain.

Oh wow, I could hear that dramatic music playing after he said "I'm Nicholas Alamain." I would so love to be able to see Melanie's face after he says that. I guess that's the end of that relationship.
Fabulous chapter Andre! Thank you.

Chapter 7 BO & HOPE'S HOUSE Hope watches while the paramedics take Bo's body (covered by a bag) out on a stretcher. SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MELANIE: Alamain? As in Vivian Alamain? NICHOLAS: She's my great-aunt. But, please Melanie, trust me, I'm nothing like her. MELANIE: Okay. I don't quite understand all of this. So, you and I are brother and sister? NICHOLAS: half-brother and sister. Carly is my mother. My father was...an evil, evil man by the name of Lawrence Alamain. I don't understand it all, either. But, I'll tell you what I do know.. Nicholas' explanation is shown in flashback. SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL - FLASHBACK Carly and Nicholas walk into the room. NICHOLAS: You wanted a chat? CARLY: Don't get cute with me, Nikki! Now, I have questions, but number one is this: what in the name of sanity are you doing back in Salem? NICHOLAS: I came to see you, mother. I've missed you! CARLY: You've missed me? Well, if you've missed me so much, why haven't you returned any of my calls? NICHOLAS: I tried to, but I dropped my phone in the toilet by accident one afternoon and I haven't been able to get a new one yet. CARLY: All right. I'll accept that. Second question: do you have any idea who that girl that you're dating is? NICHOLAS: We're not dating, we're only talking about it. And, she's a very nice girl named Melanie Layton. CARLY: Yes, well, she is also your sister. NICHOLAS: My sister? Now you'll have to explain this to me, mother, because as far as I can remember, you and father never had a child together after me, and she's too young to be my big sister. CARLY: She's your half-sister. NICHOLAS: The one father was planning to kill? The reason you murdered him? CARLY: Yes. Melanie is the half-sister that your father tried to kill. And, if you're smart, you won't try to follow in his footsteps. NICHOLAS: Mother, why would I do such a thing like that? Father and I are two different people! I am not like him! Carly looks doubtful. Nicholas gets a somber look on his face. NICHOLAS: I promise you, mother. I am nothing like my father. And I will do whatever it takes to prove that to you. What can I do? CARLY: I'll think about it and let you know. One of the most important things you can do is this: promise me you will stay away from Vivian. NICHOLAS: Stay away from Vivian? Mother, she's my great-aunt. My own flesh and blood. You can't expect me to stay away from her. That would be like telling Melanie to stay away from you. CARLY: All right, then. How about this: you can visit her, but don't get too close to her. Don't let her reel you into one of her schemes. Nicholas, I'm sorry to say this, but your Aunt Vivian is nothing but trouble. She's even worse than your father was. NICHOLAS: All right, mother. I promise not to let her try to get her claws into me. CARLY: Good. At least now you can see why I don't exactly approve of it. You and Melanie, I mean...SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MELANIE: I see. NICHOLAS: Yes. Melanie, the last thing I want to do is to hurt you. I can't be your boyfriend. But, if you want me to be, I could be your really cool big brother. MELANIE: I think I might like that. NICHOLAS: Good. MELANIE: Hey, listen, I'm gonna go get my dad. I want you to meet him. NICHOLAS: All right. I'll be waiting in here. Melanie walks out. The Ghost of Lawrence Alamain appears. LAWRENCE'S GHOST: But you are like me, Nicholas. And there's nothing you can do about it.
