Here's the latest comings and goings casting news from Days of Our Lives.

Get ready for another big cast return. According to a behind-the-scenes source, a deal has already been struck between the performer and the show, and the actor/actress will begin taping soon.

Meanwhile, an insider reports that a Days vet is considering leaving the show, due to lack of quality air time.

After a 30 year absence, Jean Bruce Scott, who played Jessica Blake Fallon from 1980 to 1982, reprises her role on August 31. For new Days fans, Jessica is the daughter of Marie Horton and Alex Marshall and the mother of the returning Nick Fallon.

Ian Buchanan is scheduled to make his final appearance as the evil Ian McAllister on August 22.

Susan Seaforth Hayes is back as Julie on August 24. She'll share pivotal scenes with Molly Burnett (Melanie).

I have a feeling that the big cast return is going to end up being Jason Cook as Shawn Douglas since Jason Cook is no longer on General Hospital and he should be done with his project that he was working on with Ari Zucker. Now that Bo is gone, I could definitely see Shawn coming back to interact with Hope.

If they bring back Jason Cook for Shawn D, they need to cast someone as Belle!!! lol!!! Unless, they end up getting a divorce or something and it is never talked about or shown

If it's true, they will probably just break them up ala: Chloe & Brady. Kayla & Steve.... I really hope it's not him.

I hope it's Nadia. This is purely speculation. We know they were talking to her a while back and couldn't work out a deal. Maybe they have since worked one out. They need women on the show more than men for balance.

As for the man who isn't getting good story? Just guessing (and hoping) it's John. He and Marlena could both go and the show would be no worse.

I really think that the vet that is going to be leaving is going to end up being Missy Reeves since her contract is up in November and she has not had much airtime at all since Jennifer and Daniel broke up. I don't see Jennifer getting much airtime now that Jack is gone unless she is paired back up with Daniel.

There is always a really good chance that the returning actor may be Thao Penghlis/Tony/Andre since Eileen Davidson/Kristen is now back on the show and Tomlin really likes to write for the Dimera family a lot. A while back Bryan Dattilo and Thao exchanged some cryptic tweets back and forth where Bryan told Thao that he would love to have him back on the show and Thao said that he would love to come back to Days.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jennifer and Daniel revisited. I haven't minded Daniel with Nicole, but I find it pretty ridiculous that Nicole is pregnant with one man's baby, another is claiming paternity and a third is dating her. It's too convoluted for me. Of course, if the man she was dating were Brady, I might feel differently.

I just wish someone interesting would come.....Shawn Brady is not it to me.

I was just talking to my Days buds last night - they are GH girls like me though - so yeah we like it raw and dark - but really we were like why is NO ONE INTERESTING ON THIS SHOW? There is no reason to watch except maybe for Will's ho hopping.

We were lamenting the times when DAYS was must see for us...when we'd get up early for Prevuze, endure the Singing Man on youtube, chat up a storm about it all. (For us this was 2008-2011)... Text each other play by plays. We'd actually watch THE WHOLE SHOW.

We were all shaking our heads at how the reboot wrecked the show. It is so sad.

Girl I am on hiatus...lol. I haven't watched almost this entire year, aside from occasional scenes. It was too awful to bear to me. I am hoping things will get better.

But I get play by plays all the time so I know what is going on and I am writing a Days fic...I have a Days heavy youtube channel.....I get Days related comments all the time. And I used to run a Days related board....and I still keep up with many members. I am probably more of a "fan" than most people that "love" the show.

There are basic tenets to soap writing and currently the show is missing a few pieces...the past year it was missing a HUGE piece...drama. I want the show to get back to being soapy and worth talking about. Bringing back a bunch of vanilla characters is not the way.

I am thinking it will be Missy Reeves who leaves also. She could move to London or wherever her son is living. If they aren't going to use her then she shouldn't be on contract. How about recurring status like some others.

They definitely need some women on the show who are late 20's to mid 30's. There are too many men for just Sami and Nicole.
