Aha! So it's Will and I'm guessing Chad, if it's "another family's offspring."
Thanks a billion for posting all the great spoiler info, karebr!

If Will gets with anyone, wouldn't that guy be SOME family's offspring? What's the alternative? Pod people? Well......I guess it IS Salem, so who knows.
Btw, I'm totally down with Will being gay. Just hope it's done well.

And I do not like that Will will be gay...So his feelings for Gabi are not real? I thought Abigail & Chad were getting together?

That just makes me so mad. I like Will and I love Chandler and I HATE that they are going to do that to him. I am so choked right now. Don't get me wrong, nothing against homosexuality, I am just mad it is Will. There are soooo many other people it should be.

Well, if Will is feeling uncomfortable with Gabi, perhaps it's why they are moving so slowly. Maybe something just doesn't feel "right". It remains to be seen how it's all handled, but perhaps it's something that he will struggle with for a long time. Sounds like really juicy material for Chandler. Good for him.

In another thread, I've already stated my concerns about any "gay storyline" that Days might attempt and that I think building it around any of the younger characters will be even more of a catastrophe than if it involved older ones. I think it's a mistake but Days makes lots of them all the time so what's new about that. I guess when they finish making a total train wreck of it, they can always make Will hetero again.... and since I have zero expectation that the storyline will be in anyway realistic why not just arbitrarily reverse it. Besides, the way that Dena drops storylines they may not even bother to explain why Will is suddenly reunited with Gabi once Tomlin gets finished with the latest little "something to talk about" maneuvering. In the meantime, maybe Lucas will return for the storyline.
The more interesting tidbit here is that Kristian Alfonso just now renewed her contract. It was originally up for renewal last summer. Alison Sweeney's was due for renewal in Sept. and she still hasn't signed again either. It seems odd that two major actresses on the show took/is taking so long to renew. That kind of thing always makes me wonder about what going on behind the scenes at Days. I keep hoping for the news of Tomlin's replacement.

There has to be something major going on backstage at days that it is taking these actors a long time to renew their contracts. I posted an interview with James Scott in the characters welcome section and in it he has said that he has not resigned his contract yet but that the terms have been agreed upon so I wonder why it is taking him this long to resign. Something weird is going on backstage at days if actors like jkj is willing to walk away from days without having something else lined up first and if shelley hennig was willing to not resign not knowing if her new show was going to be picked up or not and for mark hapka to get fired just for asking to be utilized better on the show. I wonder how many other actors are going to end up leaving the show once their contracts are up for renewal. As promising as this gay storyline with Will sounds, I just don't see the writers doing a good job with it. I wouldn't be surprised if the writers don't screw it up so bad that Will will end up being shipped off to Hong Kong to live with dad before the storyline is done. Now that Kate no longer is going to have any kids in Salem with Philip being written out it would be nice if the show would bring back Bryan Datillo/Lucas for this storyline to have any kind of major impact but that is probably way too much to ask for.

The thing about JS is weird for a different reason. His contract isn't due for renewal until May. I agree with you that the JKJ, SH and MH situations are additional reasons that make me wonder what is going on. JKJ and SH chose to leave rather than renew, Kristian's took months to renew, Ali's is still not agreed on and JS is saying his is agreed on 2 months early? I find that odd.

There's definately something going on behind the scenes. I have a feeling Mark Hapka didn't so much ask them to utilize him more as TOLD them how he wanted to me utilized more. Coming from a pip-squeek like that I'm sure it rubbed the head folks the wrong way. As for the others, perhaps they want to abandon ship before it completely sinks.

I do think Chandler has the acting chops to handle the storyline; I'm just not so sure about the writers or the focus of the storyline. I don't hold high hopes for it to be handled seriously or consistently, but hey...they may surprise me.

I will hold off judgment until it actually happens. If it does we better see some changes in Will and Gabi's relationship, because right now he is smitten with her.

I don't think it's that unrealistic that Will might be smitten with Gabi -- or think he is -- while he struggles with feelings of same-sex attraction. And everything between them has been very sweet and respectful, more like a friendship with kissing and hand-holding than unbridled lust.
