I could be wrong about this but it sounds like Chelsea may be coming back to Days according to this tweet from Rachel Melvin earlier today and retweeted by Blake Berris.

According to her FB page, she is going to be in a film starting August 1st. So no Chelsea return.

I'm on the fence about this but I think they shouldn't bring people back until the current mess is fixed. They need to balance things out and get rid of James Scott. So sick of him being on almost every day and being involved in pretty much every storyline on the show. There are other people in Salem. I could see her coming back if Bo died in the explosion but aside from that I don't see any reason for her to come back.

There are no women on the show in Chelsea's age bracket...so there is a place for her. The downside is she is related to everyone. Very happy Rachel is not coming back though...I want to see her do some other things. She is talented.
They want to get their target demographic back...therefore they need younger hot guys and women to interact with them. James Scott is the only under 35 but not a college guy the show has. He is enormously popular and fits into the show's target demo. ALSO his character is GRAY....tons of dramatic potential there. I think getting rid of EJ would be a terrible move.

They need to balance things out and get rid of James Scott. Amen to that!!! ... and it can't happen fast enough. The ratings suck right now with him leading the episode count for July ... and that has been the consistent pattern for the past 6 years. He kills the ratings! Everytime EJ/JS leads in episode counts, the ratings fall - just take a look at how many weeks this summer Days has hit all time new lows in the target demographics. Freeing itself of that albatross is the very best move Days could make to ensure that they will survive the critical ratings period that starts this September and get renewed past 2013. |
