Just saw the latest Batman flick. It was excellent. What did you all think?

I haven't seen the movie.

Since you're in Hong Kong, I'm not sure if you heard about the tragedy that happened here in the states. There was a midnight showing of The Dark Knight at a movie theater in Colorado. A gunman went into the theater, threw a teargas canister in, and then started shooting people at random. Twelve people died and over 50 were wounded. Totally senseless. This tragedy overshadowed the opening of the film.

I haven't seen it and don't plan to until it comes out on TV, if even then. To me Michael Keaton was the best Batman.

I find that as they continuously redo the older movies (Batman & Spiderman are the main ones that come to mind) they lose something within the story. the new portrayal of the character doesn't match the original intention/characterization. They just aren't as good. I will admit that Toby Maguire's Spiderman wasn't as bad as I expected but now they are re-doing that one again as well.

I think Hollywood movie writers are taking notes from Soap writers - redoing the same plot/storyline with different characters all the time with hopes of hitting it big again. Give me something new & different!!!


Yes, the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado was horrific. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by it. So sad that so many people had to suffer b/c of this lunatic and no one (especially his mom) stepped in before this happened.

I'm sure my hubby will get the DVD. I rarely go to movies since my kids were born.

My brother said that the movie was really good. I really like this imagining of Batman. It isn't so cartoonish. It is a little darker.

The tragedy is just so awful. I don't understand how someone can do something like that and makes me not want to let my kids go out and do things.
