Why does Melanie need anyone right now?? Really, can't she be an independent career woman for a several months???

Excuse me while I barf...
Kazz-you summed it up PERFECTLY! From the quote to exactly how I feel about this storyline.
I'm so not interested in seeing this pairing and them ruining Brady.

Nah dovebar is too good for him. Those are yummy! I don't want Melanie and Brady together but I don't want Melanie and Doofball even more.

Just a thought, I really don't like the thought of Mel/Brady or Mel/Dario so I'm wondering if maybe this isn't the perfect time for Nick Fallon to return and sweep Melanie off her feet, BB and MB did have chemistry - maybe they should give them a chance, They never really got one before he was written out. Sounds like the perfect solution to me.

tabbycat, hmmmm, now that would be interesting....and if Nick hadn't held her hostage and tried to kill her I might agree, but I would think it would be awfully hard for Melanie to get over things like that.....but then Hope tried to cut Bo's throat and he's back with her....soooooo maybe.....

I would normally agree with you that it's not necessary for a woman to be with a man at all times to make her worthwhile but we ARE talking about the current Melanie...."career woman", or even just "woman".... "independent".... I don't see Melanie as any of these.....once upon a time, but not now...... But it is a nice thought sportsgirl...!!!

They could always rewrite that unfortunate little blip in Nick's history. It was completely out of character anyway and just one of the many mistakes Days has made with otherwise good characters these past few years. I say bring him back and "whitewash" it - at least Nick was sincerely good to Melanie before the addiction storyline and he did only kill that horrid Trent Robbins - they've certainly tried to overlook many more and much worse actions from another character who never had any goodwill toward anyone.

Oh jkjpatch...you brought a smile to my face! How did you know that Derwood was my favorite nickname for my daughter's ex? He used to correct me, "Darin" he would remind me time and time again. Don't think I ever called him by his real name. Maybe that's why he's an ex? LOLOLOL! Onto Mel and Brady. Oh HELL NO is all I have to say about that. What, after all, having been with Chloe and Nicole could he possibly see in her romantically? And wouldn't all this talk about Ari lately make him feel uncomfortable porking Mel? Besides, doesn't he have a wee bit ofTaylor-itis too? I can see where she might find Brady a bit more attractive now that he's gone all bad boy on everyone...doesn't everyone? . Plus, that's old Mel's MO...and the reason I believe she chose Philip over The Stalker, she's a bad girl at heart. I can see what they would have her interested in a bad boy, but IMO it's simply too soon to be believable or make them root worthy as a couple. She is going to be in love with three men such a short span of time (she still loved Philip AND Nathan as far back as a couple weeks ago)? Dear God Mel, do you even know what love actually feels like? On the other hand ( I borrowed one of DD's ;D) I like that she's the one who gettingplayed for a change.

I know Molly's just trying to make sense of things but she's probably coming closer to a motivation for Melanie than anything TPTB have in mind. The problem is that if Melanie's attraction to Brady is the "bad boy" factor then why not just make it work with Philip? So what if he cheated, isn't that part of the package with the "bad boy" type? If she wants to avoid Dario because she sees him as that type, okay I can get that, but why run to Brady when he's clearly gone baddie himself. It would be nice if the writers would bother to start with a character's motivation and build plot around it rather than coming up with plot and leaving the actors and the audience in the dark about the reasons behind it. For me, that's part of what makes me so frustrated with Melanie now, I never have a clue why she's acting the way she is from one day to the next so she just comes off as immature and annoying to me.
