William and Cheryl – CHA CHA (30)


Ooh la la. What a way to start the show!!! This Cha Cha was awesome. Seriously. I know I say that a lot about him, but he really did look good. Hip action – check. Good frame – check. Looking like he's leading – check check. I can find no fault in this one. My Score: 10



Katherine and Mark – PASO DOBLE (30)


I should point out that this is the ONLY Paso Doble music they play at competitions. I'm glad they finally played it on the show (was this the first time?). As for their routine, I wasn't as wowed as I was with William's and that actually has nothing to do with Mark's lack of physique (although he thinks he's great, he's too small for my tastes). Katherine seemed a bit stiff and not strong/powerful, if that makes any sense. I know they were going for power, but they just got stiff. BIIIIIIIIG difference. Oh, and I guess her back's ok? Why do I suspect it was all a ruse? My Score: 9




Donald and Peta – ARGENTINE TANGO (29)


I wanted to love this. I really did. But I felt like Donald was just standing there and picking her up all the time. They didn't move around a lot and he really never went anywhere. She twirled in front of him and looked sexy (side note: I think she's allergic to fabric) but that was about it. He could have done so much more. Sorry Donald. My Score: 9




William and Cheryl – FREESTYLE (29)


Is it my imagination or is that a tearaway shirt? * fingers crossed * Not exactly a tear-away shirt, but a tear-open shirt. That works too. The lighting for this routine almost gave me a migraine (seriously, what was that?!) but this was a HAWT dance. He looked waaaaaaaay sexy. Cheryl knew what to play up and she sure did. I loved it!! If it weren't for the headache inducing staging, I would watch it again. As it is, I'll wait for the freeze frames and gifs that will undoubtedly pop up tomorrow. My Score: 10



Katherine and Mark – FREESTYLE (30)


Right off the bat, all I can think is “WHAT ARE THOSE SHOES?!?!?” Obviously Mark was going for a Lindy (from the 40s) but he combined it with a Quickstep (from the 20s). Honey. You gotta pick and era and stick with it. This just felt way too frantic for me. She looked lost and out of control. I'm not a fan of this one. My Score: 9



Donald and Peta – FREESTYLE (30)


Yeah, Peta hates clothes. WOW!!!!! Now THAT was a freestyle!!! Carrie Ann even jumped up on the judges table! That was PERFECTION!!!! Loved it!! Just loved it!! That's all I can say. My Score: 10



Overall, I'd say it was a fantastic night. Everyone did great (although some were slightly better than others) and I'm happy with this finale. Well done, everyone.

I wasn't as big on Cheryl & Williams freestyle. I kind of agreed with Len. It was a lot of just William shaking his hips. It seemed to highlight a lot of Cheryl more than William. I didn't even notice the lighting at all. Maybe I was expecting fantastic & I wasn't feeling that at all.

Otherwise I pretty much agreed with you on the others.

I voted for Donald... hey he's an NFL-er & a Houstonian!!! YEE HA!!!

For me, I did agree with Len about William's freestyle. Yes, it was hot and awesome and all that, but for a freestyle? Cheryl, challenge William's fine ass with something original! And the lighting and horrible camera angles hid all that booty-shaking goodness!

Katherine, I thought the freestyle was cute and fast-paced and out-of-the-box-enough for a freestyle but by far the best was DONALD!! Holy Cow!!!! Now that's a freestyle! And unexpected!!!

I was really let down by William's freestyle. This was his to win and I don't know if that freestyle was enough to compete with Donald's. His freestyle was AWESOME!!!! I waited all night for that and thank goodness we got it! Mark and Katherine's freestyle just felt like all his others just shook up and rearranged. The other dances were just meh for me. I liked William's cha cha and Donald's Argentine tango. I just can't get excited about Katherine, it just feels like they are shoving her down our throats. I will honestly be ok if Donald or William win. Not so much if she does. I don't feel like she deserves it.

I should note that I gave my scores as soon as the dance is over and before I hear the judges comments. I try not to compare dances to other dances, but now I think William's freestyle was not as awesome as I'd inititally thought. Donald's was FAR superior. I wouldn't say William's was so bad that it cost him the trophy, but I think Donald's was so amazing that it may have won him the trophy.

Even as I watched William's freestyle I wasn't blown away. I was expecting to sit there and not be able to look away and frankly it was kind of the same thing we have seen him do over and over again. I understand he is hot and can shake his hips, but do something unexpected. I think that is why Donald's was so amazing. It even made hubby stop and watch. He even posted something on facebook about it. That is when you know it is good. Lol.

It would be cool to see Donald win because Peta has never won a trophy and Mark and Cheryl both have.

True. When hubby got home, I told him he needed to watch Donald's freestyle, but I didn't tell him to watch any of the other dances. Guess he's my winner. And I think I'm ok with that. The best thing that could come out of this is not who wins, because clearly we the fans have won by getting to see such hot eye candy each week. No, the best that could come from this is if William gets a starring role in a hit TV show. And a show where he's naked. A LOT. Then we'd truly all be winners.

As long as it's Showtime and on when Dexter begins new episodes because that's the only time I pay for premium channels. But for William, I'd splurge.

In case you missed it, we were all right and Donald won. 2nd place went to Katherine with William bringing up the rear (yeah, he did ).

Overall, I think it was a fantastic season. Some annoyances along the way, but not too much drama. No one was a completely jerk (well, maybe Urkel, I mean Jaleel) and the right guy won in the end. I can't wait till the fall with the new season. Should be interesting! Winners, runners-up, fan favorites and some "controversial" folks.

In the meantime, So You Think You Can Dance starts Thursday. Best. Summer. Show. PERIOD!!!!
